    10:49 I was on the fast lane traveling at around 80mph on long stretch of Texas highway. It was a divided highway with trees and grass in the center. I was behind a row of 4 cars attempting to pass some semi trucks when A Raptor R came up behind was literally inches behind my rear bumper. I heard him down-shift a couple gears and with full acceleration, passed all 5 of us by jumping onto the grass and cutting off the first person in the line. I was amazed by how quickly it accelerated and by how motionless the body was while the suspension moving at an incredible rate of speed and distance of travel. It took him less than a few seconds to pass all 5 of us who were doing 80mph and jump back on the highway. It was the first time I was genuinely impressed by any vehicle on the street (including supercars and superbikes).

    While I get to work in an area where I see these daily. I love the concept of the RAPTOR R achieving the hp and torque numbers on a smaller displacement than the TRX. Although had it not been for Ram offering the TRX the Raptor R may not exist. Thankfully it does. While even today you may still get the Raptor with the 3.5L or step it up to the R with the monster V8. Depends how deep in your packets your willing to dig. Both Raptor with the 3.5L and the R with the 5.2 supercharged come with active exhaust. Sounds can be adjusted in both platforms. Not just the R.. Both come with active suspensions and rear coils spring fourlink rear suspension. Obviously the V8 models screams badassery. But can’t compare to the 2011 model. The 2011 model was at the top of its class in its own time. Smaller cabin area lower hp and built with a much different chassis than the newer model. To compare the 2011 would be to compare it to any other 2011 F150 from its time.

  • @brianenochs
    @brianenochs 8 месяцев назад

    The exterior and interior aesthetics of the TRX are way better, not to mention the supercharger whine and launch control system! The 37-inch tires vs the TRXs 35s and the weight advantage are all the RR has on the TRX, and the fact that you can put it in RWD only for smoky burnouts, thats awesome, good job Ford. They both have their pros and cons. The trucks are near identical in 0-60 and quarter mile times like within a tenth or two. Which is surprising because technically the RR with its huge weight advantage and equal power should smoke the TRX, but it doesn't and thats because the Hellcat engine is under-rated from the factory and because of the gearing in the TRX. You can't go wrong with either truck, but if you're a Ford fan boy, you gotta thank the Ram TRX for the Raptor Rs existence. If there was never a TRX, there would never have been a Raptor R either! Ram/SRT engineers pushed Ford performance engineers to answer them with a real competitor, and Ford did just that! Bravo to both companies!

    I wanted an original Raptor with the V8. Then, when they switched to the turbo 6, I was less interested. Either way, they were way out of budget. The Raptor R seems to be a beast though. But I think I'd rather something like the Shelby F150 Super Snake as I always loved street trucks.

    I get that everyone wanted a V8 Raptor, but I was hoping to see this engine in a 2wd lowered F150. Ford already reused the Lightning name and moved the Tremor name from 2wd to 4wd, so I don't know what they'd call it. Guess it's never gonna happen.

    The trx was the insult, the raptor is king of trucks or between these two, then some nonsense people who actually thought the ram was better was laughable. I just can't place my mind around who these trucks are marketed towards. Who needs a truck making 700+whp, that much interior & infotainment, comfort/luxury, paying a huge price tag figure, I just can't. Who's actually using these for all the intended purpose except for like 10% of those who own them, and that's being generous in terms of the figure. Literally you are talking about a truck with a 6 figure price-tag, essentially the value of a small family sized home. That's unreal to me. Past that, if you're not a responsible driver this thing in the wrong hands I don't even want to put words to that. Just seeing how unfocused drivers in larger SUV's alone scares the Hell out of me on the road. Screwing around with their infotainment system not looking at the road or turning over to have a conversation with the passenger. The number of times I've had to go over into the median to avoid these idiots who aren't paying attention is far to many to count. Last year I was out $500 in tire replacement because there was broken glass over in the median that punctured both my tires because I literally had to swerve over that much to avoid a F250 driver. Seriously, it's to the point where I feel people have to be required to have a Class-B to operate these larger and more powerful vehicles. It's to the stage and point where it should be a privilege much less a right due to the sheer size and power these vehicles are beginning to have. And this is only going to get more out of hand with EV's as they already weigh more than ICE vehicles while making more power. Know folks will likely hate my stance but I'm tired of seeing the trend of make it bigger and more powerful, most folks don't need the extra amenities or space, let alone additional power. Not to mention those who are to irresponsible to handle it to begin with.

    • @monikhushalpuri
      @monikhushalpuri 9 месяцев назад +1

      I'll tell you from my perspective as someone who is shopping around for trucks like these...I don't want an SUV because occasionally I have to move stuff and it's nice to have the bed. Next is reliability so that crosses german suv's off the list dince they have a higher chance of being stuck at the dealer for a part that almost always has to be shipped in from germany...I used to work on cars so i know this for a fact, I also want something fast and powerful and capable of outrunning most cars on the road but I also want it to be a safe vehicle in the event of a crash and God forbid my wife and kids are inside (obviously driving like a grandma with my wife and kids in the truck and only ripping it when its just me in the truck and in an area where i know i wont be putting others in harms way)...also I can afford it and it's cool as hell and a big Fu to jealous ass people who don't work hard enough to afford something like this...most of the reason for buying this for the vast majority of people who can afford it

    • @monikhushalpuri
      @monikhushalpuri 9 месяцев назад +1

      But with that being said...I do wish dodge, ford and gm still made affordable trucks that are bare bones...I genuinely feel for the average guy who just wants a new, cheap, reliable work truck/ something bigger and safer and easier to get in and out of than a 4 door sedan while essentially getting almost the same mpg and its a big segment that truck makers are missing out on now...I remember as a kid chevy s10's, dodge Dakota's and ford rangers being damn near everywhere when they were new...now a new ford ranger is 40k+ which makes no sense to me...put roll up windows back in, no screens for stereos and and climate controls...they would still sell like crazy

    • @cokemachine62590
      @cokemachine62590 9 месяцев назад +1

      Nobody "needs" a 700 hp truck. It doesn't serve any intended purpose other than to have fun in. If you need a truck to haul stuff on the regular, really any of the ford truck lineup can handle it, especially the diesel models. Everything is more expensive these days...hell you can option an F150 platinum powerboost to over $92k plus tax and fees. The quality of these trucks has gotten so good though...the ride quality, interior design, sound deadening, and amenities honestly rival luxury car brands. People aren't buying trucks anymore cause they need a truck, they just want it. That's capitalism.
