I'm lucky the Quasar VHS camcorder from 1986 that I got on Ebay included the carrying case, original user guide, the battery charging dock and the proprietary connector that outputs composite video and audio out through the charging dock. It helps that it uses full size VHS tapes so if I didn't have the converter cable/box I could just easily put the VHS tape in my VCR to watch it back.
Realy like your videos on tapless Camera Mods! Is there allready a solution for the rather bad audio of the DRV? I would like to by one for my old Sony Video 8 cam but it would be much easyer if i dont have to record the audio seperatly to gain the better quality (Planing to use it for capturing holiday footage or moments with friends)... Any Idea? :)
I would recommend buying a zoom handled recorder or similar..and just make a clap or something in the beginning of your video for syncing the audio later in edit. Its more work but the audio will be much better.
If someone has the ability, modding the video out on a camera like this is a stellar idea: hands down.
Great videos. Thanks for all the work keeping this tech alive.
awesome work for keeping the old cams useful 👍

Hi! Are you located in the US? I have the Mini DVR and I’d rather have someone solder my cable for me ❤🎉❤. Let me know your price!
I'm pretty sure he lives in California
I have that JVC camcorder

Is there an alternative to the generic Mini-DVR with better audio capture quality? Otherwise this is a stellar mod!
The mini dvr has better quality than many others available.
