Doing demos is fine. Having a fancy, transparent shell with an individual background shining through is fine, too. Combining both things isn't. Your code is unreadable - except I go really close to my screen and watch it in very high resolution. You should use strong contrast in the shell, while doing demos, black on white or white on black. It needn't be that strict, if you chose a much bigger font in the shell for the purpose of the demo. 16 or 18 would be very convenient for the audience, I guess, but of course it depends on your system, monitor size and resolution and so on. If your secret idea is, to show your fancy background, just start like that, and record the process of changing font size and contrast. In my xterm it is right-click, settings, appearance, where I increase the font size.
Hey so I never really considered the readability of the code with a transparent background. I'll change it up for future videos. Also I'm using Terminator so it's not as simple as right-clicking and changing settings.
