Ustio and other nations were Belkan once but they wanted out after the Federal Law Review and Osean shenanigans, does that mean they were nationalists for Ustio or not nationalists for Belka? Sometimes i feel like that last words of Crimson 1 means that we have to remember him as a lesson, so we don't become into something like him, i really wish that this game could have cutscenes in the future, so maybe we could have a better look at Crimson 1, from a devote and skilled pilote fighting for his country, to a lunatic genocide.... or he is just a dick from start to finish xD
His cause was noble, but his actions reprehensible. Monarch may not have a kingdom to rule over, and his coronation set against fire and brimstone, but he was more human, more dignified, than Crimson 1 ever was. From their first encounter over Yellowstone, to the Bering Strait, to Presidia. Crimson 1's legacy will be his arrogance - Monarch's, his dignity. His courage. His will. Not every king may be just, but sometimes we need those like Monarch.
@@GoredonTheDestroyer True, throught the entire game, there's questions that come up why are you fighting? why are you a mercenary and so on.. we see several answers to this.. one guy in sicario - mercenary path - he is in it for the fun of combat, and money others are in it for cash, but won't want to throw their lives away Monarch however, after Federation blasts Prospero, speaks nothing when his wingmen want to flee. Well we see by then that he chose to stay. Perhaps its for the reward (mercanary path) , perhaps its to finish the contract (solider path) , perhaps its to stop Federation (knight path). What I will however suspect is that Monarch is closer to the knight path then expected. Throught the entire game, we rarely get to attack civilian targets, as a matter of fact, in multiple missions its clear that Monarch keeps collateral to the minimum (Pearl Harbour 2.0) fx
I actually wonder if there will be a sequel to PW (which details what happens post-Cascadian War) or a prequel like ACZ (which details the Oceania War)
Gotta admit: when I first played this mission, the game bugged out & I didn’t have any soundtrack. It was just me fighting Crimson 1 in a nuked city with total silence and it was pretty sick.
The ending is a tale of what happens when someone, anyone, or any nation goes too far and doesn't back down. Cascadia initially just wanted independence and the Federation wanted them to remain part of their empire. However, both kept pushing and the federation became more and more desperate, with Cascadia getting bolder, attacking Federation assets in a "neutral" country among other things, so the Feds went too far and determined they cannot let Cascadia win, no matter what so caused the 2nd calamity, most likely by accident as they probably just wanted to flatten Prospero and the IF and either didn't know (or bother to find out) if using cordite primed weapons might cause issues outside of their own explosive force). Now that the Feds "upped the game" Cascadia is out for blood. Their country is wrecked and they've gone this far, theres no backing down now that they were almost destroyed for daring to want to be free. They completely destroy almost all of the Feds and you could tell they were probably giving no quarter in Presidia, "just count the number of Feds you've killed" and such. In comes Crimson who has lost everything due to the war and once again since there's no going back, his original home is destroyed by his precious Federation "for the goal of trying to reunite it" that he's completely lost it. In his head it wasn't the Federations fault because Cascadia "forced" them to do so because of how much they were being steamrolled, in a large part thanks to Sicario and Monarch. With everything gone to hell why not just finish the job, destroy the rest and have the Feds rebuilt it all "united" for the "good" of everyone. And of course, take down Monarch, who if he never got involved, the Rebellion would have failed amd none of this would've happened. After all, Crimson and the Feds never wanted to kill so many people and cause so much destruction, they were simply forced to because of Monarch. They arent in the wrong, why can't the world just see that? Its the result of people having "nothing to loose" because they lost it already in the pursuit of a goal, so the only thing left is achieving that goal, at any cost since they have nothing left to loose.
Bullshite. Crimson just went mad and destroyed everything because he couldn't handle losing to a mercenary. Not even his own superiors stopped him from causing destruction with "Project Wingman". As soon as they caused Calamity the first time, the Peacekeepers took Presidia and took and turned its lands into an inferno, causing untold damages to even civilians caught in the crossfire of this man made cataclysmic change. People were already pissed off at The Federation's actions and then Crimson went and did said action that left Cascadia in ruins. What happens next is on their hands due to what Crimson did and they will pay the price. Even if the Federation knows they didn't destroy Cascadia, they failed to keep Crimson in check. In fact, at least one person on their side did not want to go to extreme with Cordium WMDs, but was killed by a peacekeeper because the latter was desperate in not losing the war. And that's what caused it. And look what that desperation has brought them after the war. A new conflict.
No, that doesn't work. Presidia is the Federation's stronghold _in Cascadia_ , it's not the Federation's actual capital (this would make at least a bit more sense if it was). None of this is taking place on their own turf. And they are in the process of allowing Federation forces to leave when Crimson blows up the city, he actually got all of the surviving Federation forces in Presidia killed for no reason at all.
And there’s a possibility some of the higher-ups in the Federation were so angry about losing Cascadia, that they sided with Crimson and gave them weapons.
@@CruelestChris Im also pretty sure that the cataclysmic events that Crimson started also hit the federation mainland. It was mostly Cascadia, not limited to it.

Crimson 1 is such a peculiar character. His obsession with Monarch is almost hilarious and the fact that they were able to create a character who’s not only hypocritical but based him purely off of projection is clever as well. The man nuked a capital city and half of his own continent to kill you and blames you for it. Crimson 1 has the skill of Pixy but the insanity of Captain Torres.
@Merc Kitsuné or been told the Federation above all. Like a certain Hegemony who found a League of systems to brutally annex other powers and call them territories so you can exploit them
@kingsora84 Maybe comic relief, but the Star League Defense force had a similar maxim of prioritizing the organization's integrity over the planet they were born and raised which led to the succession Wars when they couldn't hold the peace anymore
A mix of delusion and grief. It's tragic for sure. Deep down he knows he's wrong. But his programming drives him to ignore it. One of those "suicide by hero" deaths.
Because he's pathetic. At the start of the game he's considered the top Ace of the top military in the world. He's the leader of a skilled and respect squadron. But throughout the game you tear apart each of these aspects of his ego's foundation. You escape Crimson squadron in one mission, publicly humiliate them in the largest furball in history in another, and utterly wipe the squadron out in the last. Your squadron is key is wrecking the Federation, and embarrassing them so badly nominally allied nations like Sawaiiki don't even come to their defense. You damage the Federation so badly in fact they resort to causing a second Calamity, ruining their reputation for the sake of winning. And you know what? They still lose, agree to recognize the self-actualization of the Cascadian people, and agree to a cease-fire after a near-complete routing of their forces on that side of the planet. And yet, Crimson's ego and self-image never accepted the changing reality. Instead his mind invented some insane belief system wherein Monarch was the cause of all this suffering. That if you just didn't exist all those millions that died from Federation attacks and weapons would still be alive. And even after getting rid of all of Monarch's wingmen and allied forces and using a broken super-plane... he STILL couldn't win against someone he views a bloodthirsty dog. He's pathetic and it's only in those last moments, exhausted and ruined, that he finally accepted it.
@@RicochetForce I actually badly damaged 3 of the 8 crimsons in the MiG 29... the runaway prompt only pops up when you destroy one of them fully..(circle strafing saved me big time.) With the right plane (F-18 onwards, it is doable and enough guns), you can ding all of them. Crimson's character downfall was pretty obvious after the Cold war wasting.. I laughed when i eventually downed him... (There is an invisible 4th bar you have to chip down after the whole thing, which was kind of a cheap move)
Through his arrogance, Crimson 1 thought the world would see this as a final action of valiant defiance. Instead he united almost every nation against the federation
Yes and no. I definitely prefer the implementation of PSMs here in PW than in AC7, however it's very limited to only the top-tier aircraft, and you have to sacrifice your flares for it. AC7's planes are definitely more maneuverable in every other aspect though.
@@gracecalis5421 I would honestly sacrifice flares compared to AC7’s monopoly that is the X-02S on maneuverability. At least planes loading different combos of weapons would beat the meta inclination a bit.
@@strayed1615 They don't really need to care much about metas in a game with no multiplayer, and I'm certain if multiplayer was implemented that planes would definitely be hit with hard nerfs, otherwise if PSM was as easy to trigger and as versatile as it is right now, the dogfights would look even more batshit insane than in AC7.
Like the PSM implementation, hate that you have to unlock the SU-37 to get access to it first time. MiG-29 can PSM in AC7 Multiple weapons, another good move for varied offensive and it looks cooler. Guns heavy dogfighting...wasn't quite prepared for that, but it is a good trainer for gun use.. Well done with this Series Ace Combat Fan and thanks for being a big supporter of this game. Please be gentle with my part of Cascadia during your play through of conquest
It is. The railguns we're used to seeing? The ones that make up Stonehenge and the CFA-44 and SP weapons in AC7? You just see those as ripples in the air from the disturbance of how fast the projectile is moving. But when the railguns in PW fire, you see a characteristic orange beam that hangs long after the gun finishes firing and busies up your radar something fierce. That's because it isn't pure electromagnetic acceleration, it's cordium powered. That also explains why railguns are so ubiquitous in the setting. Cascadia is so rich with cordium that the Federation military thinks nothing of using it to power mass produced weapons. I'm willing to bet you wouldn't see so many railguns out in the Periphery.
@@knighthawk9833 now i really want to learn a little more about how Cordium functions in a “railgun” (more like a particle beam?). Or maybe the slowness is just a gameplay function
@@knighthawk9833 It really doesn't explain anything since we don't really know what being "cordium powered" means for a railgun, or how it would still be a railgun if it worked in significantly different way. Most likely it's just a gameplay conceit to have a persistent effect with a slow-moving projectile because realistically a near-hitscan high-damage weapon would be no fun to deal with.
everything in this world is cordium powered. the pilots say their planes use cordium as fuel several times. and the railguns are likely firing big cordium shells
I still don't understand why so many people feel 'conflicted' regarding the ending of the game. Crimson 1 is projecting his delusions onto you hardcore, and is a monster than manages to make Pixy's motivations look fully reasonable, rather than just understandable. Crimson 1's entire schtick, is: 'REEE I LOST! NOBODY WINS, IT"S ALL YOUR FAULT! REEEE' The game ends with a senseless tragedy driven by one man's ego and messiah complex. If you feel like it's even remotely Monarch's fault, then you weren't paying attention throughout the story. Comic and Diplomat are both Cascadian, and Sicario fights for Cascadia, representing the desires of it's people. The remnants of the military of cascadian independence forces go out of their way to get Sicario to keep fighting for them.
The conflict comes because we are accustomed to Ace Combat. In Ace Combat, no matter how bad the situation is, you always save the day at the end of the game. You prevent the V2 from destroying anything approaching war crime levels. You destroyed Fortress Intolerance. You decommission Stonehenge while giving it exactly one chance at redemption 15 years later. You disabled Megalith. You saved Oured. You liberated Gracemeria, and prevent it from being rendered extinct by Chandelier. You stop the drones from starting a Skynet scenario. But not here. You killed Crimson 1, but not before he destroyed anything worth saving around the airspace. Basically, you won, but at what cost? Is losing two major cities a cost worth paying? Is losing a million lives a cost worth paying? While I'd like to hear your answers to those questions, these are questions never asked in Ace Combat. We should have been asking questions about Torres's first railgun shell that might have detonated on Sapin. The Belkan nukes should not have taken only 12000 lives. We do not ask the questions of the Cinigrad meatgrinder that certainly happens when Wardog isn't around. Project Wingman forces you to face the question head-on, and answer them. And I like it precisely because of that.
@@taufiqutomo No, I meant the people feeling 'conflicted' because they weren't sure of the moral situation. At what cost? Most of Cascadia. However, not the player's fault, nor even the federation's, at that point. I'd honestly view giving up at that point to be nothing more than an insult to the dead, letting their killer get what they want in the end. Is losing two major cities a cost worth paying? Without knowing actual numbers for civpop and such, that is impossible to answer. It was also far more than 'two major cities' given the tack on effects from the first city. Also, not a cost EITHER side expected to be paying. A million lives? Again, not an anticipated cost. Lives are heavy to be weighed, but not all lives weigh the same. Up until the missile barrage, we'd actively seen BOTH sides trying to minimize civilian casualties. Basically, from player perspective, all of the civilian deaths could and should be laid at the feet of Crimson 1. He's the one who lost his damn mind. The player's goal, was to force the federation to back down and allow Cascadia it's independence. We at no point see either side, outside of Crimson 1 and the Cruise missile barrage, actively seeking to target non-combatants. I'll also note that the extra dialogue during the credits on mercenary difficulty very much implies that a significant chunk of the air forces, at the very least, survived. If they survived, then it stands to reason that a chunk on the ground would have as well. As for Torres' first shell? You said it yourself, 'might have'. Beyond that, it's outside the scope of the game, or the characters involved, as far as giving a toss goes. Belkan nukes: We don't know what size/grade of warhead they were (I believe they were supposed to be V1s, which are canonically considered to be akin to tactical nukes, iirc. Tactical nukes tend to be smaller on the destruction scale), nor do we know how populated the areas they detonated them were. Only 12k isn't surprising if the areas they detonated were rural, even moreso if there was sufficient medical and rescue treatment in the days following. Using Hiroshima and Nagasaki, those being the only real-world examples, estimates for that sit at between 100k and 250k dead. Half of those were from complications in the aftermath and the failings of 1940s medicine. So, yes, if none of the bombs were dropped directly onto a densely populated city and mostly in undeveloped territory, then yes, 12k is reasonable, especially if both Osea/Ustio/Allies and Belka were prompt on trying to rescue people and get treatment applied. Also something that wasn't approved of by the majority of Belka, given that a ceasefire was quickly hashed out once everyone realized what had happened. Cinigrad: Happens entirely out of area of the characters in the game, with no real information beyond 'siege'. Casualties aren't necessarily high in a siege situation. It depends on how the siege is being run. At any rate, PW ends on a sour and very rushed feeling note. It comes across as an abrupt and not well-thought out twist. There is no real lead-up, no real reason to anticipate something going wrong again at that point. It feels like a twist for the sake of itself, ending on a very abrupt note with no real closure or plot resolution.
@@kayque8676 I don't consider them reasonable. I consider them understandable, certainly, and I feel he is probably the most sympathetic 'main antagonist character' of the Ace Combat games, but that doesn't make his motivations 'reasonable'. He thinks that by setting off a bunch of super-notanukes, he can destroy the borders between nations, which he feels are the cause of war, via, I would assume, eliminating the governments responsible for those borders, leaving the people free to choose. That's not 'misguided' or 'optimistic', that's traumatized veteran PTSDing his way to a 'solution' to war, by removing the governments that have failed him so, and that as a result, he sees as the source of the issue. The difference between him and Crimson 1, the reason I even brought up Pixy, is that Pixy got actual character development and had legitimately gone through horrible crap and had his faith in the system shaken. He also never denies being in the wrong. He instead feels it to be a NECESSARY EVIL, and freely admits himself to be the bad guy. He's hoping his extreme measure works, even if he is seen as evil in the aftermath. Crimson 1 wasn't being idealistic, or even really traumatized. He was upset that he had lost, took his teammates getting shot down VERY personally, and projected all blame for the situation HE CAUSED onto Monarch, in order to try to justify his actions and make himself look the good guy. Crimson 1 comes across as a spoiled brat throwing a tantrum because things didn't go his way, while refusing to acknowledge his own faults, while Pixy comes across as a jaded, disillusioned soldier doing something he legitimately feels is the right thing to do, wrong though he may be, and is upfront in accepting and acknowledging the consequences of his actions.
Personally I found air jousting to be the safest way of doing phases 3 and 4 (screw these magic orbs). Makes me wonder if that was an intentional Pixy reference or just coincidence. Also, turns out above 9 or 10 km you loose most of your engine power. Learned that the hard way, 1100 km/h (at full throttle) is waay too low to safely evade on mercenary.
I think if there's a PW2 and they continue Monarch's story, Kaiser might be the main antagonist. Monarch and Hitman being paid to protect the remnants of the Federation from an old friend, consumed by vengeance, would be interesting.
No plot armor here. I managed to land some hits on him before the energy gauge appears and the damage is shown. Unlike Mihaly that can only be damaged after tons of gibbering.
Oh thank you so much for posting this! I didn’t plan on playing past hard mode because of my lack of skill and thought my squadron was killed in the blast
What a visual spectacle this is. Really has me hyped up for my new laptop to arrive so I can actually run this. The only thing the game is missing to tick all my boxes would be a couple giant superweapons to fight. That sort of Ace Combat goofiness is right up my alley.
“And what about my squadron? Do you think THEY deserved this?” “They chose their side.” “How does it feel, to not have borders, to not have anything to define yourself against the world?” “How does it feel to have destroyed your own?” “What do you have? Blood? Gold? A broken throne?” “What have you lost?” “You use the name of a king, but what do you rule over? The dead?” “The sky is my kingdom, you are nothing but a usurper.”
You know, the plot wasn't the greatest or deep by any stretch of the imagination. But I still sat back during the credits wondering if everyone was okay just before they come on comms also trying to figure out the aftermath in the end after the world literally opened up and Crimson's hell swallowed it, a new world being remade. Flying with them in every mission, it wasn't the deepest as far as going into each of the pilot's stories, but they had that small charm to them and that they all had a common goal I could get behind. Flying for either freedom, glory or just blood money. It was definitely cool experience. They weren't the best written as far as character development goes but I chuckled at the funny moments and my heart was racing in the tense battles. Ps, please make a 2 seater prototype so I can vibe with wso Prez in conquest because you best believe I'm coming to collect. For Hitman team, for Sicario. Pss for those having a hard time on mercenary difficulty, just grab the last prototype and you'll breeze through it although you do feel kind of slimmy for doing it lol.
Still not in the actual game, but you can mod it in. It has two BML-U hardpoints and a RGP as the main gun. As for statistics, think PW.MK1 but slightly worse at everything.
"I will bury you, so completely, that the Earth will turn over a thousand times before your body is dug up." God DAMN that was probably the most ice cold threat I've ever heard in videogame history
Really like the soundtrack for this last mission, especially the last part. Little hard to hear what they say during the credits though :( But I really like this campaign, quite an interesting story. A little more background/development for some things/characters would have been good but the game is really enjoyable as it is (need more Prez though). I can't play it for now but when I will have a new PC I will surely buy it. (need a PS4 first, I didn't play my SE AC7 yet)

Also all of Pixy's lines here are taken from his radio dialogue in Ace Combat Zero. Also I'm probably missing a few Crimson 1 lines.
I haven’t even played PW yet, and I’ve seen little of it, and I can already feel the weight of the top and bottom screen borders extending to give that cinema screen feel, then the words ‘No mission data found’ It’s the best way of saying ‘This is it. I know what is required of me in this sortie…’
Is it just me, or is Crimson's personality a bit like Suzaku Kururugi (both cooperated with conquerors "for the sake of their people", then hates on those who resists because "it causes needless deaths", and both committed war crimes against their own countrymen)?
Suzaku admits to the guilt. Crimson 1 refused to believe it was a lost cause and thought they should have laid down to the oppressors vs a futile fight that puts them in debt to new oppressors down the road
In the end of mission 20, after I saw the destruction of Presidia, all I felt was deep hatred for Crimson 1. All the BS he's been saying throughout the last mission is just pointless. Putting all the blame on Monarch when he damned killed thousands of his own countrymen, to me he does not deserve to be listened to, he deserves to die. Imagine being Monarch, helping win a war, witnessing the destruction of Prospero, and then seeing Presidia get blown to high hell after a ceasefire was called...

Crimson is the type of guy who lectured you without being mad at you, very chill but serious, like how he said "why are you doing this without getting emotional" And when he died lol, Have a teacher like that, he nuked his own house when I broke into it
Just beat this tonight and I though dip was being overdramatic in the previous bossfight with crimson, but no I was really feeling the fury with kings. It's rare that my home, that the pacific northwest is talked about in media, especially local politics. Cascadia is a real movement, and the story hits reasonably close to home. Crimson's fear that Cascadia wouldn't be able to defend itself and be subject to a worse global fate is a real argument, but resorting to nuking our home to prove to the federation that we need to lick their boot to survive is something else. I'm not stating my irl political thoughts in this comment but just explaning how this game hit oddly close to home for some of us. Hopefully gives others some context. We live with dangerous faults lines too, Cali earthquakes are some of the worst, and we are proud of the west coast as it's residents just like the Cascadians in the game. Strange reflection of real life US politics in a pew pew plane game I was not expecting. Edit: Ok, after a few minutes I think I just needed to get how much Crimson got to me in the last mission off my chest.
Honestly, I feel like this fight would have had way more impact if we saw Crimson squadron a bit more, maybe seen Crimson 1's descent into madness, and were given a more concrete reason for it. It's hinted that the reason he went off the deep end besides his ultranationalism and arrogance is because he saw his entire squadron killed by you and your team, but maybe that could have been expanded on with a few more scenes before Prospero. Hell, even a couple of extra lines during their retreat over the Bering Strait along the lines of "You killed my men, _how dare you kill my men!"_ would have made it a bit better.
I think the pilots should have a hypothetical question that if their country/hometown was going fall to secessionists will they have nerve to pull the trigger with zero hesitation before and after and this shows Crimson's personality that he saw there is no reason for peacekeepers to exist if they lose Cascadia as he would take his own life calling a Federalist before Cascadia
I couldn't quite catch that last part about Monarch. Was this all part of a simple contract? The ending felt very eerie to me. Kind of like the multiple endings of Ace Combat 3. Something dark and confusing happened, but it's very hard to put into words.
Comic and Diplomat talking covered various topics. They recognized the crippling blow the Federation got and Cascadia's independence means the world order is going to change, that they need to lie low for a bit, that Kaiser is going to get revenge on the Feds for Sicario's near complete destruction. And the very last bit? Comic mentions that Hitman team completed the terms of the agreement back in Mission 16: Wayback, but wonders how they can collect if they're lying low. Diplomat responds with: "Don't worry, Monarch will collect." And sure enough, you can see that in the final screen.
My interpretation of Crimson 1's line is that he's trying to use Monarch's soldier-of-fortune nature against him, to try and make Monarch see the reasons why he, a mercenary, would be unworthy of sharing the skies with someone of Crimson 1's caliber. It's a part of Crimson's big "Reason You Suck" speech, as he views Monarch as little more than a scoundrel, fighting an unjust war for an unjust cause. The irony of it all is that Crimson 1 is ultimately guilty of a lot of the things he accuses Monarch of, including being a king without a kingdom - Cascadia being in ruins and all that.
Crimson 1's request at the end was probably the closest thing to bringing a tear to my eye. Don't care what people say or how crazy he was, ggs and rip Crimson 1. I'll remember you for sure

Ustio and other nations were Belkan once but they wanted out after the Federal Law Review and Osean shenanigans, does that mean they were nationalists for Ustio or not nationalists for Belka? What about South Belka surrendering and being annexed by Osea? We don't learn enough about Belkan politics, only throwaway lines about the ruling party in 1995 being "far right". True, throught the entire game, there's questions that come up
why are you fighting?
why are you a mercenary and so on..
we see several answers to this..
one guy in sicario - mercenary path - he is in it for the fun of combat, and money
others are in it for cash, but won't want to throw their lives away
Monarch however, after Federation blasts Prospero, speaks nothing when his wingmen want to flee.

@@CruelestChris pretty much crimson destroyed what's left of the federation military.
And there’s a possibility some of the higher-ups in the Federation were so angry about losing Cascadia, that they sided with Crimson and gave them weapons.

The Last Dialog of Crimson one is somehow Really Sad
He'll get no sympathy from me.

@@gracecalis5421 I would honestly sacrifice flares compared to AC7’s monopoly that is the X-02S on maneuverability. At least planes loading different combos of weapons would beat the meta inclination a bit.

The more advanced tech like airships and railguns are powered by Cordium, yeah.
@@knighthawk9833 now i really want to learn a little more about how Cordium functions in a “railgun” (more like a particle beam?). Or maybe the slowness is just a gameplay function
@@knighthawk9833
It really doesn't explain anything since we don't really know what being "cordium powered" means for a railgun, or how it would still be a railgun if it worked in significantly different way.
Crimson 1's entire schtick, is:
'REEE I LOST! NOBODY WINS, IT"S ALL YOUR FAULT! REEEE'
The game ends with a senseless tragedy driven by one man's ego and messiah complex.
Belkan nukes:
We don't know what size/grade of warhead they were (I believe they were supposed to be V1s, which are canonically considered to be akin to tactical nukes, iirc.
In Pixy's defense, his motivations are reasonable. Just misguided and far too optimistic.
My thoughts. The game acts like if Crimson One is saying and doing something "deep", but he actually doesn't
Project wingman: if ace combat threw every semblance of realism out the window
Monarch : *tanks more G's than what humans are capable of like an absolute unite*
meanwhile Prez : *is fucking dying in the back seat*
I think if there's a PW2 and they continue Monarch's story, Kaiser might be the main antagonist.
Monarch and Hitman being paid to protect the remnants of the Federation from an old friend, consumed by vengeance, would be interesting.
So now i just realized that when boss fight comes with their name and symbol first only comes with plot armor.
No plot armor here. I managed to land some hits on him before the energy gauge appears and the damage is shown. Unlike Mihaly that can only be damaged after tons of gibbering.
@@exukvera ah... well then, guess ill have to try better then.
Oh thank you so much for posting this! I didn’t plan on playing past hard mode because of my lack of skill and thought my squadron was killed in the blast
That boss right there, my fellow aces... is the ultimate demonstration of pure "narcissism" for all of you.
What a visual spectacle this is. Really has me hyped up for my new laptop to arrive so I can actually run this. The only thing the game is missing to tick all my boxes would be a couple giant superweapons to fight. That sort of Ace Combat goofiness is right up my alley.
I always enjoy how each name of each bgm is basically one big summary of what the whole point of it was
I would go hands down to say this is one of the best boss fights in video game history.
There's a dogfight I will never forget we could use Aces like you and him in the Ace Combat Universe. I'll fly with you anytime anywhere.
I was not about to play this on Mercenary, so thanks for the upload! Gotta admit, it was a fun game.
“And what about my squadron? Do you think THEY deserved this?”
“They chose their side.”
“How does it feel, to not have borders, to not have anything to define yourself against the world?”
“How does it feel to have destroyed your own?”
“What do you have? Blood? Gold? A broken throne?”
“What have you lost?”
“You use the name of a king, but what do you rule over? The dead?”
“The sky is my kingdom, you are nothing but a usurper.”
"A FALSE IDOL."
I had to add that after the final sentence - Perfect reference.
8:43 is what you're all searching for, isn't it?
Be noticed that Crimson is accompanied by X-PFs, a type of non-playable super aircraft. Hope I can get my hands on one of these in the future.
Still not in the actual game, but you can mod it in. It has two BML-U hardpoints and a RGP as the main gun. As for statistics, think PW.MK1 but slightly worse at everything.
"I will bury you, so completely, that the Earth will turn over a thousand times before your body is dug up."
God DAMN that was probably the most ice cold threat I've ever heard in videogame history
AWACS Galaxy praising the AWACS pilot for saving his and the AWACS crews lives sounds cool
Really like the soundtrack for this last mission, especially the last part. Little hard to hear what they say during the credits though :(
But I really like this campaign, quite an interesting story. A little more background/development for some things/characters would have been good but the game is really enjoyable as it is (need more Prez though). I can't play it for now but when I will have a new PC I will surely buy it. (need a PS4 first, I didn't play my SE AC7 yet)

I guess we'll have to wait for when a ADFX-02 Morgan mod or a F-15C Pixy mod gets made. Also all of Pixy's lines here are taken from his radio dialogue in Ace Combat Zero. Also I'm probably missing a few Crimson 1 lines.
I haven’t even played PW yet, and I’ve seen little of it, and I can already feel the weight of the top and bottom screen borders extending to give that cinema screen feel, then the words ‘No mission data found’
It’s the best way of saying ‘This is it.
*_And thus...a legend is born._*
With all those maneuvers he's capable of, I'm fully convinced that Monarch has no blood, otherwise he'd have passed out multiple times already.
Crimson 1:"How does it feel to not have a country? To not have borders to define yourself?"

This battle was extremely satisfying. Great OST, the feels.....
I feel weird when there is no tunnel action in arcade flight "ace combat-like" game LOL
Still, Project Wingman is an amazing game & well done to the devs. They outdone themselves & this series could definitely rival Ace Combat series into the future.
In mission 9 there are some bonus containers that you have to fly through tunnels to shoot.
There were no tunnels in Assault Horizon

This is like the fights with Solo Wing Pixy in Ace Combat Zero,Pasternak in Ace Combat 6, both Ofnir and Grabacr in Ace Combat 5, Dision in Ace Combat 3 JP version and Mihaly A Shilage in Ace Combat 7 combined.
Crimson is the type of guy who lectured you without being mad at you, very chill but serious, like how he said "why are you doing this without getting emotional"
And when he died lol,
Have a teacher like that, he nuked his own house when I broke into it
This is easily one of the most bullshit bosses in any game I've played, but still so much fun that I ain't even mad.
I think the pilots should have a hypothetical question that if their country/hometown was going fall to secessionists will they have nerve to pull the trigger with zero hesitation before and after and this shows Crimson's personality that he saw there is no reason for peacekeepers to exist if they lose Cascadia as he would take his own life calling a Federalist before Cascadia
when the boss died in 70:07 i cried a bit because it was tragic
At about 9:42, is Ace Combat Fan in the Project Wingman credits!?
Crimson 1 is just me losing my shit after Chopper's death in AC5.
Saw someone take him out Zero-style with Accipiter and rockets. Maddest shit I've ever seen.
Monarch after the explosion:(whispering) “I think he’e just making a epic battle setting for the final showdown.”
Crimson 1's request at the end was probably the closest thing to bringing a tear to my eye. Don't care what people say or how crazy he was, ggs and rip Crimson 1. I'll remember you for sure
