  • No other region has bounced back from the bottom of tier lists quite like the Desert has, now being one of the best zones in the entire leagues format that you can choose! Between the Tombs of Amascut and the Minigame Metropolis you'll find here, the Desert is definitely worth considering in your region selection!
    Good luck in your leagues journey!

    oops, forgot to mention but Desert also has the sandstone/granite quarry. Great for collecting sandstone if you wanted to do glassblowing, especially if you're also going Fremennik and have access to lunar spellbook for superglass make. Quarry also has the option of doing tick manipulation mining if you wanted to smash that out of the way

    You've been absolutely crushing these videos Doubleshine!
    The ring of shadows is a bit of a slept on ring slot; it has some prayer and melee strength bonuses that could be useful for the mid-game or if not choosing Fremennik.
    Side notes, if choosing a Desert and Tiranwinn set up, Masori armor is best in slot for the blowpipe. With a ranged build, it could be really powerful at places like the inferno or leviathan, especially since TOA drops dragon dart tips too. Tirannwn has an armor shop that could be used for Giant's Foundry (UIM method for training smithing).

    • @doubleshine
      @doubleshine  8 месяцев назад

      dang i had no clue about the ring also being so powerful, it's always just been for teleports. good point about blow-pipe too, especially as it's accuracy will naturally be boosted anyways

    Personally feel like Elidinis Statuette is one of the most slept on parts of the desert. Taking it as my last pick almost exclusively for it. Due to house load times, it is quicker than rejuvenation pool in house.
    Mage Training Arena will also be interesting depending on how much the minigame boost effects it. In the base game, cosmics can already profit via the minigame, as in being rewarded with more than how many are consumed. Depending on how high the boost is natures, cosmics, and laws could all be infinite quantity from Mage Training Arena starting with only a single digit number of each. The high alch room in particular could potentially be profiting nature runes while doing over 100k exp an hour before boosts.
    While likely not needed for most, surprised you didn't mention sandstone and granite. Sandstone is quickest sand in game if going Fremenik for Glass Make and granite is of course highest mining exp in the game and a great alternative if the gem mines are too full of people.

    • @doubleshine
      @doubleshine  8 месяцев назад +1

      I bet so many people are taking rejuv pool for granted and not realizing it requires fremmy, which is why personally I love the statue to get by on that.

      True, thanks for the encouragement! Me and my friends are kind of at the same level of game knowledge. For example, we were looking at todays teased combat relics and discussion largely revolved around not being able to decide between them. I think if I knew where I *couldn't* use a combat style that might help. For example, if one were to pick the ranged relic where would ranged not work? I'm sure some places you could force it but I wouldn't know off the top of my head most bosses/phases? where you absolutely have to swap. I can imagine going from super powered to normal would feel bad. Sorry for the long comment! @@doubleshine

    @linguotgr 8 месяцев назад +1

    Up until recently I was planning on going ranged, but honestly the desert seems so good that it makes me really want to go mage this league. I know people hate Mage Training Arena but if you can just sorta grin and bear it, you get a guaranteed "good enough" armor set and weapon that can get you through most content. And that consistency is nothing to sneeze at. I think something like Zeah -> Desert might be a great start, where you just get your base combat gear in MTA before going back to Zeah to get a ton of upgrades from Chambers might be a solid path.

    • @doubleshine
      @doubleshine  8 месяцев назад

    • @kenshin1368
      @kenshin1368 8 месяцев назад

      Definitely strongly consider the task lists before choosing Zeah first. You will be miserable picking Zeah first unless they change a ton from Twisted. Zeah has quite possibly the worst early/midgame upgrades for every combat style. None of the content in Zeah is efficient to do early either except for maybe WT and Tithe Farm but those you still probably want gathering/processing relics.
      Desert is pretty easily one of the best first picks though it doesn't offer much for range until much later.

    14:36 fang is actually still in a very unique place in leagues because of its minimum hit damage on TOP of basicly being gaurenteed to hit, for uptime it feelsl ike. also its 2tic so it benefits the most from its damage compared to anything else but hands down itll be one of the easiest bis to get but soulreaper axe methods are going to be NASTY AF cause of its 30% bonus, and other melee centric spec weps will be insane. fang will just be the most comfy slayer wep and overall fun and easy to get early purple so im suuuuuuuuuuuper excited!@!!!! not to mention its still a solid spec weapon overall now that we know what relics we get i guess

    Just a note on the Giant's foundry, it is slightly more efficient to obtain the 5 best moulds, or even all moulds, before the smithing set, as they grant both increased exp and points gained. However, with the boosted exp and points this might not end up making a difference in leagues.

    For Giants foundry you wanna get the good molds first. They have a Smithing requirement but the molds are quite cheap compared to the full set and better mould setup = more points/gp/xp. Not sure if rushing the smiths outfit is the play, there might be a relic that instantly processes everything so it would only be really useful inside of the minigame

    • @doubleshine

    Love these deep dives, the information is great for trying to make a plan. Still struggling to figure mine out though, so some feedback would be appreciated. My main goal is to learn TOA, but I'm very much a pvm noob so this would be my first time doing anything much harder than Jad or safe spotting DKs. I'm thinking Tyrannwn for Bowfa/Crystal Armor, then if I learn Zulrah I can also get blowpipe, which I'll have easy access to making darts because of Desert. My question comes to figuring out my third region. I was thinking Asgarnia to make the most out of Masori and to be able to then pair Masori with Zaryte Crossbow, but I don't know if that's what I want to do or if there's some other region that'd be better for a third pick. This also is my first Leagues, so I'm definitely going to be slow on getting to this compared to many. Any easy suggestions you can make for my region choices?

    • @doubleshine
      @doubleshine  8 месяцев назад +1

      Glad the content is helping out! Desert and Tiranwn are a great start for ranged, and for a 3rd zone I'd definitely recommend either Asgarnia or Kandarin!
      Asgarnia is the better pick for sure but you'll also have a TON of pvm to do. this is probably gonna be good for you since you want to get your feet in the door and this will give you the most variety, just be careful since lots of bosses can also cause burnout.
      Kandarin is a bit of an easier region if you just want something more chill that helps support your other picks!

    • @DannehBoi90
      @DannehBoi90 8 месяцев назад +1

      @@doubleshine I'll look forward to the deep dive of Kandarin then, since having a single more chill region does sound good for the times I can be on but can't focus on endgame pvm stuff! With that said my main chase is max cape for league and I've never done new content added into osrs and a bit skeptical on going kourend or the desert. Honestly what would be the odds id even get geared and find a group of people to take me under their wing to learn Cox or soloing Toa? Kourend I'm favoring atm to try and do hydra but extremely unsure atm. Thanks for these vids btw!

    • @doubleshine

      Leagues is crazy fast xp and drops (up to 16x xp and 5x drops) so you will be leveling at a ridiculous rate. If you want to get into raids, CoX and ToA are way easier to learn imo and don't require a group so you can do them solo and learn at your own pace. ToB can be done solo but is quite challenging.
      I'm sure you will be able to find teams but it might not be worth the time searching for people available, so I would definitely recommend CoX and ToA as your main goals since they're all new content for you anyways

  • @Roel93
    @Roel93 8 месяцев назад

    As a noob who has never done ToA before I wonder: is it wise to go with a group of 8 or do you think solo will be better, even for learning? Does it only increase the hitpoints or are there other downsides like less loot per person?

      Groups will be okay, but you can't get higher than 100% chance at a unique (only 1 person can get it per raid) so at a certain level it's gonna be faster to do like duos, trios or solos because you'd be overcapped with 8 people

    Ive never done a raid before but plan on trying in leagues. If I’m a solo player would toa be the best raid to plan on doing?

      100% Tombs is the easiest to get your foot in the door, and very easy to learn solo as well! I'll also be doing a lot of community ToA runs to help people get started with raiding in the desert :)
