@Lee Carney It feels like an anti-climax, but here's how I see it. The yankees, our hated rival, had our number in the playoffs. Especially 1978 and the previous season, 2003. Then we went down 3 games to 0, including a 19-8 beatdown in game 3 to those same yankees. We all know what happened, obviously. But what I'm saying is coming back against the yankees in the ALCS was a much tougher task than winning the WS. Once we did, we were so on a roll that there was no stopping us. After the comeback, we probably could of beaten an all-star team in four straight. I actually believe it's very fitting the way that it happened.

The 2004 Red Sox are a great story because of the Yankees series. That's the climax of the movie. Then just before the credits roll, there's a freeze frame of the team celebrating in Yankee Stadium and then a caption saying, "The Red Sox went on to sweep the St. Louis Cardinals in the World Series for their first championship since 1918." Fade to black. Play Sweet Caroline or Dirty Water or I'm Shipping Up to Boston or something like that. Roll credits.
