Over the last year or so, I've gotten familiar with RC-20 Retro Color plugin from XLN audio. The plugin is simple and the layout is pretty straightforward, but there's a lot of ways RC-20 can bring an analog, retro vibe to your production. In today's video we'll go over the 6 modules featured in RC-20 and talk about a few use cases for the plugin. Enjoy!

Thanks Andrew! Glad to have you!
Thank you for this. Really a perfect review!
Appreciate the comment bro!
I like it, man! I’ll be checking this out!
This would be a great plugin for you man!
THANK YOU !!!
Hope it goes on sale again soon
Good video thanks
Thanks 🙏🏻😄
Dude please don't add drums to only one half of an a/b comparison, great video otherwise man, just makes it harder to get a clear lock on everything it adds to the track when the drums are bright and dynamic as well. Great review in general though. Loved the guitar demo. Really about to pull the trigger on this. H3000 is on sale too. Being a guitar player I always wanted one of those things from eventide.
Hey man, love the content of this video, I think you did a great job showcasing the rc-20. Earned my subscription! I was curious about your thoughts regarding bussing out mix channels through physical effect pedals (like a Strymon Deco Tape pedal e.g.) instead of these digital effect plugins (like you showed 8:08 of your video). Have you ever done any analog bussing like that to have a preference? Thanks!
Yo! Thanks for the kind words! I used to experiment a lot more with complicated routing, bussing, etc. than I do these days. Not for a lack of desire, I just don't have a ton of analog gear in my home studio. So for now my (mostly) in-the-box workflow suits me just fine. Always changing and evolving though!
Bussing out a mix channel to a guitar pedal though... now that's something I can't speak to. Sounds awesome though, have you tried it?
That’s a digital pedal though so… same thing as plugins basically
I cannot live without XLN's XO plugin and saw that this is on sale. Not sure if I need yet another "vintage vibe" type of plugin because I already have so many, but this seems like a great little compact solution, so it is kinda tempting! Especially at $60 (of course sale ends tomorrow, as they always tend to do, hah).
the cracked version is even better!

Rt on info bro!! Thanks for the Help
Nice review! Thanks! My only complaint would be that the comparison samples of using the plugin on the main bus were very short. Not enough time to appreciate the difference. Also showing the difference between 100% Magnitude and the 15% you were using would have been good. Otherwise, very helpful video!
Appreciate the feedback! To be honest, I've been focused on (maybe a bit too much) keeping these videos as short as possible. The first edit of this video was 22 minutes long! Admittedly the mix bus example of the video received a lot of cuts, including a more in depth magnitude demo haha! Likely story, right? Thanks for watching!
Great vid thx!
Great idea about the mix bus.
Cheers Tom!
look like should have a try for RC-20 :)
How do you keep the instruments in phase while using this plugin?
omg your logic projects.... Wow loved your music man :) What music was that? Was that yours :)??
Thanks very much my friend. Yeah everything I play in my videos is original. The last tune is a single that's dropping in the next couple months!
How many times can you install RC20
$19 now ;)
Is Fender Clean just a stock Logic plugin? It sounds fantastic
Yo! Fender clean is just the title of my saved channel strip setting. But yes, I'm using logic's stock amp plugin! Super solid!
Nice video! RC20 is definitely worth the money especially if you can get it for a deal :)
Thanks for the comment, my friend!
So like right now? Lol
@@JusTVIDSE Hell yeah! I've been telling a bunch of people about the new deal :)
How do you like that JC-22?
I love it! Super solid amp!
