Thank his management for posting this
Lol yeah ok.
I think the joke went over your head
Sputnik really appreciates that comment.
Can't post from heaven, he died, he no longer exists.
I was lucky to see him and June Carter at the Iowa State Fair in about 1973 or so.
Great year for freedom...
One of the best story teller I've every heard.its great
One day when I was at work I said, “ hey Siri play Johnny Cash” and this song came on it’s been my favorite Ever since
A classic by a classic legend Johnny cash lives on
I remember reading John Henry's story trying to beat a machine as a kid. He wins but died in the process.
The people who made the decision to choose Johnny Cash for a James Bond movie, had a brilliant idea. That would have made history, an American country recording artist in a British James Bond movie. Sincerely Bobbie from Silver Spring,Maryland.
This is a classic
Name checks out
Been listening to this longer than I care to admit to.

I got this song on his album, "Murder", such an awesome song. I bet the Coen brothers could make a good movie about John Henry.

Because you can't replace a steel drivin man
Its so easier to live now for a boy named Sue today like in the sixties😅
Nothing is better than a story of someone sacrificing themself for what they believe in.
Do engines get rewarded for their steam?
good recording quality.
Ohhhh terminator Sarah Conor chronicles had a character called John Henry. At the end of season 1 we are treated to the man comes around. I wonder where the creators got inspiration from?
What’s a substitute for bread and beans? I ain’t seen it
wow tanks
According to the story I read in my 8th grade US History class, John Henry was a former slave that beat the Machine at laying railroad track. I did a stand up report about him because of this song, love Johnny Cash and the song, this song is why I choose this story to do my report on. That was before the internet, Google, RUclips, just me, my dad and the set of World Books we had at home to help us to with our reports. Johnny Cash also did a live show from a state prison in California, Peace and good will to all the hard workers that comment on this post, just a little lived history to add to the list of comments on a very old song and story. The Movie By DreamWorks about the horse that refused to lay track also talks about the real event in US History when the track crossed the divide of East/West. check it out, I tell the truth.
Great dress shirts.
Yessir
I love this song. I wish he'd done an entire album just on folk heroes. Johnny Cash "Sings the Ballads of the True West" is an amazing album though.

I can relate to the theme of being challenged by machines. Whose gonna fix machines? I am
My Peapaw just passed away today. This was his favorite song.
My Papa loved this song. He's also passed away. He mined nickel in the off season and was a professional hockey player during the fall and winter months. May the great leaders rest easy. Great memories that last a lifetime
Me too
Can you swing a hammer boy?

Break the Robot!
I keep returning to this song in the wake of AI algorithms taking over the creative industry. Here's to hoping that my comment ages poorly.
Also, I find it hilarious this channel has now uploaded Ritchie Valens - Cry cry cry several times as a Cash song haha.
@Strange Wayfaring Stranger, if you research Johnny Cash you will discover that Johnny wrote Cry, Cry, Cry in 1955 - it was his first record for Sun Records (along with Hey Porter). Cry, Cry, Cry was NOT written by Ritchie Valens - he may have covered it in later years.
Just here to remind you, you wrong boy you wrong no greater than Johnny cash😉😆
0:01 🌚🌚🌚🌚🌚🌚

Bold & Iconic. Not really a hit single format. Fantastic backing vocals ( by the Carter Family?).
In the first part of the song, hennery is really roughing is hammer in Johnny.
🤨🤨🤨👀🕳
No idea what you wrote
◇♡♤♧
"Whats a substitute for bread and beans?" Ha GMO's?
“Take pride in working yourself to death against the first prototype of automation.” I can’t believe how anyone can find this story to be inspirational or anything besides horribly depressing.
You missed the whole point of the song. It's based on a story.
📍💉🎣 This song represents every blue collar hardworking individual who's ever been told they're replaceable... 🩸🥵😢
Beautifully phrased ,
