Jenny, I absolutely love watching your tutorials. You bring such joy to every on. This one is especially fun and easy and, helped me with a Baby Shower decorations. Thank you!
We did this last weekend as a project in our quilters retreat held in my basement. We had a ton of fun doing it! I tucked my tail in side the pennant before I sewed it to the twill tape. I liked the finished back better than having the tail out. Also I sewed two lines across the pennant to increase the stability of the pennant string. I sewed one line 1/4 inch from the top of the pennant and another almost at the bottom of the tape.
Perfect for Birthdays, Graduations, Promotions..... endless possibilities. Thanks Jenny. You are Awesome!!!! Perfect person on You Tube! Love your videos!
I've just made these for my first baby's nursery! So easy! I changed the size down to a 8inch square though as the nursery is very tiny. Love the way they look
Yup, they're screaming fun to me! This autumn my family are celebrating some big birthdays (65, 60 & 25) and these pennants would be perfect for hanging in the sycamore trees! Thanks Jenny & crew, for the great idea!
I used this to make banners for my grandchildren as they graduated from college. I embroidered designs that related to their lives on various blocks. I alternated these blocks with plain blocks. They got to keep their blocks and returned the plain ones to go into a banner for the next grandchild. They really enjoyed their banner and the next kids were looking forward to getting their banner.
Thank you so much Jenny. I'm going to make my husband a hounds tooth quilt using University of Alabama fabric. with the squares red and white. Hound tooth hat was what Coach Bear Bryant wore and we all honor his memory. Again thanks for this tutorial.
I love these!!!! Thank you for this. In the past 6 months I’ve made one for my granddaughter’s birthday, a bunch for my family for Valentine’s Day, and one last night for St. Patty’s Day. I use my Cricut to iron on letters and pictures. Sew fun!!!
Well there you go! I have a 21st (my baby) and 70th (my friend) both on the same day in July and wondering what I could do differently to my other two sons 21st decorations, yet incorporate the 70th. These pennants are just the thing!!!!! So easy, quick and colourful, Thank you!!!
Super fun! I have a bunch of patriotic fabric...guess what I'm going to make!! I also have a bunch of red ribbon (left from my granddaughter's 4th of July dress from last year!)...think I'll put my pennants on it and fly our patriotic pride all summer! Thanks Jenny!
THANKYOU! have always wanted to make pennants and been put off by the work involved but this is fabtastic! Now I am off to look for some layer cakes in your online store, yayyyy
I love this!!! Doing this as a project with my 8 year old niece. We are going to add some letters for her name and make a pennant for her room! We ordered the pastels from your shop just last week. Thank you!
Hi Jenny and co. I have just watched this video in September 2020 and love it!! This is a wonderful idea. As I live in Australia we are just heading into spring/ summer and this will be perfect for outside decorations by the bbq and pool. Thank you so much.
A big hello from Australia, i woulld like to thank you so much for this tutorial, just amazing. As for all your other tutorials, they are so informative, again thank you so much.
Jenny, you just solved my problem----I want to make a banner with pennants for my Grandson's Wedding, which is out of town. I will be adding letters of Congrats with their names and maybe--- Just Married. An easy project to tuck in a suitcase. I think I'll use white with black letters. Just another idea for you.
I came to see you cut one block into four flags. I was surprised to see you double up each one and use all that fabric. I made them with batik fabric so the color is pretty on the back too.
Great video! thanks! Just wondering? Do you like demonstrating how to sew things sitting down? I was always amazed how you sewed everything standing up.
Thanks for this great tutorial! Quick question: I don't have the twill tape on hand, but I do have grosgrain ribbon. Any downsides to using that kind of ribbon instead?
Hi Jenny, Was wondering if there are any templates for lettering? I am horrible at free hand... or do you have any suggestions as to the best way to do lettering? thanks
Layer cakes are precut 10" pieces of fabric that come in sets of 42 pieces of the same line of fabric. Usually you will get 2-3 pieces of each fabric, depending on the designer and how many pieces they put into the specific fabric line.
Hi How I wish I had seen this tutorial before I made more than 50 metres of bunting for my daughter's wedding. Am making Christmas ones for my nieces when my broken arm is healed!!
Who knew it could be so easy!! (Yes, it is screamin' fun to me!) I can't wait to try this for myself. Thanks Jenny (and gang) for another GREAT tutorial!! :)
I hage a question to anybody who's made these: how does the "back flap" hold up when washed? Also if the bunting is hung freely (instead of against a wall), does the back look ok?
wanted to share my chuckle moment. First quick glance at the video picture and I thought Jenny's sign said - pregnant - what?? Oh, Pennant, okay, that makes more sense :-)
