people are saying that they didn't get all the skin, but it was never her intention to remove all the lose skin. They only removed it because it can cause back pain and rashes.
Right? She didn't even hate her loose skin, and actually felt proud of it, but was experiencing pain and other health issues. People are so ignorant and rude...I can't believe it.

Elle what are you talking about?? there is plenty of friction with the legs and arms. Especially with the movement and friction between the thighs rubbing together and the excess skin rubbing inside of pant legs as you move or walk. The same thing with the arms, when you are moving them up and down from your sides

The plastic surgeons did the work. Not the Ob/Gyn or the ER doctor. They just were the monirators for the segment of the plastic surgeons.
This is one of the reasons I dislike gift-giving in general.

I used to weigh 415lbs.. I had gastric sleeve surgery... I'm now between 150-160... I almost died because 2 1/2 years after the initial surgery I acquired gastroparesis and got the horrible doctor then said the ONLY weigh to fix it was to have the gastric bypass with roux en y [i was 140 lbs at the time] well I ended up getting a severe ulcer that encompasses my whole "stomach area" and then my pouch exploded... i almkst died... at which meant a feeding tube for almost 8 months and 4 months of that was nothing but ice chips [not even water to consume] with in 19 months ALL my teeth rotted out and i am now typing this at 41 with NO TEETH and a 2 ounce pouch and life long meds.. I am in the process of getting dentures through a great program because I'm disabled and only have medicare..which does NOT cover skin removal after massive weight loss. I am newly married. My husband thinks I'm beautiful but I hate looking at my skin.. it's a huge reminder of what I've accomplished but also an even BIGGER reminder of what I used to look like and it's VERY disheartening on a person.
I had lost my 1st 200 lbs in 10 months 3 weeks and 4 days. I will NEVER go back to what I was like before.. Thank the Gods for that. I wish I could get help but I've been turned away from every avenue possible. I look like a deflating hot air balloon.

@@ashleyr9042 Everyone wants to think being fat is caused by stuffing your mouth with food. In fact there are many ways you might gain weight. Genetics, diseases, injuries, gut microbes, and you might gain gradually not suddenly just from normal eating habits. Maybe don't make assumptions.
@@ashleyr9042 what a nasty and ignorant way to begin what could have been a positive comment. Not everyone is fat because they are gluttonous slobs. Many have disordered eating that leads to significant weight gain but not everyone. I am clinically obese and have been working with my doctors to solve the issue. For me it’s not a too much in/not enough out problem. Medications I was on to save my life destroyed my metabolism and a large swath of my GI system. I will need surgery to deal with the problem and then we hope my weight will normalise. I don’t absorb nutrients properly and my body thinks it’s always starving so everything gets converted to fat while I’m deficient in most vitamins and minerals. Such problems exist. I’m not having bariatric surgery but I certainly don’t fault those who do! Disordered eating is as much a health problem as my issues are. In fact it’s probably much more difficult to overcome. Keep your judgement to yourself.

No. No amount of homeopathy Mumbo jumbo will get rid of excess skin. My first question is how tall are you? 100lbs is a pretty low body weight for all but the very very petite , like 5”1 abs below if you’re taller than that and 180 I know for a fact that 100lbs is to thin. Maybe you should talk to an actual doctor, not a naturopath or other fake medical “professional” and discuss not only what a healthy weight for you personally is but why you want to be 100lbs. The severity of excess skin varies from person to person as we all have different levels of elasticity in our skin. I would encourage you to focus on your workout and healthy eating goals and save the worry over excess skin for when you’re in a healthy place physically and mentally.

happy Gabby!!! I agree but I'm wondering if they had removed more, if it would have made her body look disproportionate?? It is like a woman having a small body and getting larger implants but just the opposite for her. If they made her belly smaller, her arms and thighs may have stood out more
It wasn't a cosmetic procedure it was a medical procedure . I use to wonder the same thing!🙂

hadasa mordechai her insurance might not have covered it. Most insurance companies won’t covered the skin removal on the back unless it needed medically. I lost over 100lbs and I have loose skin on my back that causes me rashes and other problems. Luckily for me my insurance is paying not only for one but two my procedures that I requested. I’m paying out of pocket for the third procedure.
The healing process is a lot. I’m sure there’s multiple sessions involved

She would have but it hangs and lays differently. She would have lost a heck of a lot more from her torso than her face, even proportionately, so the difference is obvious.

There is nothing unprofessional about it. Doctors use layterms when speaking with laypeople because it makes them more relatable. Nothing wrong with that.

They only removed the skin that was causing health problems. The very large excess on her stomach was putting strain on her back and causing rashes.

michael50694 it's from losing a lot of weight, the skin was stretched out around a heap of fat, once she lost the fat the skin stayed stretched out

I have a lot of loose skin from losing a lot of weight, sure some of it might be fat in my stomach but I can't lose any more fat without becoming sick and too skinny, so surgery is the only way my belly will go.

I am sooo super happy for her but I am curious why the dr didn't do a full mommy makeover? She will have to go back for her back, arms and legs! I think the dr's missed the mark. If you're gonna do it, do it to completion 🤷🏽♀️
As far as I know they can I my do so much at once. The body can only handle so much trauma in one go. A tummy tuck is actually major surgery. Some doctors will also cover the hips and part of the back in one go but it depends on just how much is to be removed because it causes significant shock to the body and can become dangerous. Also the pain impedes mobility so they try to break it down into multiple surgeries to make it more manageable for the patient.
But why she still has soooo much skin left
Mac Beauty there has to be a balance between how much to take off. Too much and the tension will negatively effect healing, movement and scarring, too little and you don’t get a good esthetic. You also cannot know what her veinous structure was in that excess skin, removing a piece that carries large vessels to the areas below removal site can cause tissue death and gas gangrene. Most good plastic surgeons will be a bit conservative in a skin removal to avoid the possible complications.

There is no indication she “lied”. Back pain affects every part of life and slows a person down massively. The skin rashes can easily progress to severe infections. She’s supposed to put her physical health, perhaps even her life, behind her pride over her weight loss and loose skin?? You think her taking care of her health means she lied? Get a grip!

Are you afraid of the actual thought of weighing less or that you will have loose skin? If it’s the first fear, please find a therapist to work with so that you can be happy, healthy and not worry about weight and if it’s about skin, a loss of 10-15 lbs won’t cause the loose skin she had. She lost hundreds of pounds and was not a teen with elastic skin. Good luck!
