- Todays Ford Model A question of the day came from Mike in Hawaii!
He has a Ryan 33% Overdrive and when it goes uphill it sounds like sheet metal banging, but is it the overdrive or something else?

Warped brake rotors; Bad!
Knocking engine; Bad!
Babbitt falling out; Bad!
Warped YT host; Priceless!!
Good stuff, Model T! Thanks!
Add a little pressure to the clutch pedal when it's making the noise. That will force the crank forward - if the noise stops the thrust brg is bad. My mom had a VW Dasher that wouldn't always start. We found when her foot was on the clutch it forced the flywheel forward (due to worn thrust brg) to the point that the starter wouldn't fully engage enough to close the contacts.
Muy bueno! Saludos desde Argentina
We love these Q&As. thanks Tina.
I think that's a good deduction. You're like the sherlock holmes of model A's.🔎👁
@@mr_paw_t awesome 🥳💕
Hey Babette, who's on first
Hi Friends! I thought bacon fixed everything, kind of like duck tape! Seriously though, thanks for the great info. Have a GREAT week!
@@JefferyHall-ct2tr 😂 good stuff!
Paul is right, well almost about bacon. Back in the 1980s, I knew a kid who sold used cars AS-IS for some extra cash. He stored them in the backyard of his parent's house. He would make a few repairs and then pull one to the front of the house and list it for sale in the good old Recycler newspaper in Van Nuys, CA. He never wanted to buy parts so here are a few of the fixes. For rear-end gear noise and some manual transmission problems, mix in sawdust, for rod knock cut strips of thin leather, and place it behind the bad bearing cap, no more knock. Always had a good stock of STP and stop leak on hand. Pep Boys was his favorite store.🤣
You and Paul are awesome, these are great tips, Paul sure does know his stuff. I'm glad that you and Paul have such a great time with each other, makes for a fun and interesting video. Thanks for sharing your time with us, God Bless and have a great day!
Another learning experience in my search. I can’t thank you both enough. God bless ~ Chuck
My dad...he would be 115... said he used bacon rind bearings in his "T"
As before trying to get model a crank and running clean and flush has tank fresh gas installed new point and condenser try to crank turns over but will not run any idea I think the next thing is to pull out spark plugs clean anything I not doing thanks
Good info. What’s up with the blue lab coat? Are you gonna become the Mad Model A Professor next episode?
Everybody knows if you don’t add 2 Grade A eggs to the bacon it will never work.
@@56Spookdog 😂😂😂 even better!!
