Just finished reading the book and it gave me a whole new perspective and respect for what Halford went thru in the closet all those years.
He remains one of my favorite vocalists to this day, regardless of his sexuality. So very glad that he got sober, and was able to resume his position as the METAL GOD of Judas Priest!
Definitely a worthwhile read for any you metalheads out there! 🤘
I don't care what sexual orientation Rob is, doesn't change a damn thing, he's still the greatest of the rock gods of all time, a colourblind version of history.

I was born in 73, so I grew up watching Mark, Alan, Nina, J.J. and Martha. Mtv was such a huge impact for my generation and its too bad it has gone to shite. But then again so has music. The Buggles were close in their song, but it wasn't video that killed the radio star (read music) it was the computer and the internet.
Quantization and auto tune sucked the soul out of music and it turned into a producers product and the internet with streaming pushing singles for clicks to generate cash because albums (I'm dating myself) require attention span which is dead today.
I love SiriusXM and hearing the VJs on there. Classic rewind and Ozzys Boneyard are my two favorite channels with 80s on 8 when I'm in the car with my wife.
Love Rob and as a life long Priest fan and don't know anyone who was shocked by Rob coming out. I think the ones who were shocked, really were not paying attention and were casual "fans" because real fans just didn't care because its about the music. It was a bigger deal back then simply because it wasn't something people talked about butlike I said the real fans, the ones who are into Priest for the music just didn't care at all.
Rob always metal god.

" Metal God comes out of the closet" im like it must be Rob, since they scrolled it during a Judas priest video.
You know, enough about Rob's sexuality... Who cares what his lifestyle choices are. He is - WITHOUT QUESTION - one of the absolute finest heavy metal singers, or singers in general, and he's been doing it for decades, fucking decades and he's far from finished man... If Rob's choice of sexuality really bothers someone or is an issue that they repeatedly think about or discuss, then that individual needs to look in the mirror for a few minutes and put themselves in check - Again man, Rob Halford is a great singer, great songwriter, one of the many great faces of heavy metal and is also a great man - what more can anyone possibly say !!!

Genuinely Rob sorry to say no one gives an absolute shit if you got the big gay. I believe everyone knew the fans just wanted the music. Not to be rude but it’s like who cares.
context matters here, when rob came out the lgbtqia community wasn’t as big as it is today, and hate crimes to us where still high back in the 90s.

Finding happiness in one's own skin isn't always a given, and it took him a long time to reach that point. I think that's why it's important to a lot of people struggling with that.
