On the series DVD there is a longer version of this scene where Alexander tells Nick "You really do seem to understand us", and Nick says "I had good teachers" and looks over at Monroe and Rosalee.

The shortened scenes are often the fault of the advertisement blocks. Know that because the Ausrian TV ( ORF ) does that not here I had the GRIMM episodes for a short time in full. Of course such a prime series was worth buying on DVD you are right of course. Yes, really well done Fantasy Series as that are rare as gem stones.

I wish they kept that in. It would have made me smile so much knowing that more and more Wesen can finally know that not all Grimms are out to hunt them and it's possible for newer Grimms to try and have a balance of both worlds.
Hank is the most chill understanding dude. Nick has to be in this world Hank just got dragged in and he barely complains
hank was on the brink so finding out he wasn't crazy was a relief.
To be fair, he has a right to be angry. His ancestor was being treated rather horribly.... He wanted to stop the desecration of a body. They're a secret burial, not meant for humans to see... and it probably broke his whole community's hearts to see it.
Exactly. For all we know, that individual might literally be related to him distantly. They died in pain, fear and rage, all with the intent to keep them woged. They were practically tortured just to make a mummy in that form. And then for their body to become a museum piece? Having their body on the pyre was by far the most respectful send off they could have been given
Not that we treat human remains any differently. For example, Ötzi the Iceman has been through the whole series of examinations. As have others.

This is one of the most underrated shows ever.
Lets be honest this episode hit close to home for most cultures. The heads of our maori ancestors are still in museums around the world.
Every culture has its ancestors on display somehwere, Neanderthals, Vikings, Egyptians, Greeks, Aztecs etc. Including some people from so long ago that it's impossible to trace their descendants.

Just got thru binge watching this show and this scene made me cry when I watched it. It was so respectful for Nick to be okay with this. They did this scene so well
well, you can only blame Anubis attacks so many times on stress and the group that wanted this done probably would send someone new at some point, this way the mummy is properly dealt wilt and the attacks will stop.
He wasn't exactly OK with it, but he has to balance his duty as a cop against his duty as a Grimm, and part of the Wesen world. This was one of the times he chose the Grimm/Wesen option

I understand that Nick didn't agree with everything but Its Vesen heritage and its important to them, they're ancestor. So really and truly Nick really didn't have a choice in the matter.

stupid youtube. this show indeed predates the use of camera filters and was done by cgi. although a good amount was makeup and prosthetics with cgi just being used for the ripple effect on the face.
It was a really good serie, good and well done, nice different wesens i really miss it and hope their is a spin of or a CONTINUING ON it!

The thing that gets me is that even after this the Wessen Council still put a $100,000 bounty on Nick's head. There has never been another Grimm who spent so much time helping & protecting innocent Wessen, and they still put out a hit on him!

I was recently watching another show called The Mentalist and the actor for Monroe showed up.
That happens all the time. We watch NCIS ,Castle, CSI , the bit actors travel between them for work.
He was on Prison Break back in the day, too. An excellent show in its own right.

On one hand I felt sad that they were burning it, but on the other I recognize the fact if you dont then youll spend forever always hiding it to protect Wesen (good ones). So sadly burning it was the best and right thing to do.

Under the same circumstances, if some other race tortured some of our people just to keep them a certain way while they were mummified or just preserved somehow, and secrecy is so tantamount to our survival that we can't even take official actions that they might know about on a wider scale, I'm not sure humans would've reacted any differently. I probably wouldn't've.

I find it odd (ok, not odd, just totally hypocritical, as expected from many societies) that some cultures are totally OK with disrespecting the dead of other cultures, but if you tried to do an archaeological excavation and body display of people buried in THEIR cemeteries they'd be going insane!

I see the worry of stealing a culture has been shown properly in a t.v. show rather than real life. Sad what happened with Greece and its relics taken into Britain.
Same with America and Egypt in the 1920s
you many relics were destroyed in their native lands by the following cultures with many only surviving because they had been taken to museums by other cultures interested in the past. you know the pyramids because the inhabitants later on decided that the mummies were better used as kindling and being ground into material to make paint and the blocks of the pyramids went to make houses.

@@toomanyaccounts Exactly, if it was still there, many muslims and the locals corruption would hsve distoryed and ruined a lot more, although some of the british excavations were not the best but it did build the way on the rules and regulations on how to properly archeology dig and archive items.

I'm not overly familiar with this show but, when they change, are they just using CGI faces vs prosthetics?
It's my understanding that it's a little of both.
@@christinacody5845 for long period shots or with lots of multiples at the same time its makeup with cgi just used for the rippling. there are pics on the wiki such as the wedding episode that show that a lot of twins or close in appereance were used with one being the human face and one person or twin in the makeup. its a lot more makeup then people think. the krampus for most screen time except the tongue and changing back to human was makeup. they had to balance time/cost of makeup versus cgi when figuring what to do.
honestly for tv at the time the cgi is a lot better then most and still better then say the Cats movie.
