This was such a great find as a kid. Played the OG samurai warriors at a friends house and picked this gem up after they didnt have the original, ended up loving it till this day.
@@Powerhouse1 recently me and my friend unlocked the Siege of Osaka Castle especial stage. We have played this game for hundreds of hours and hadn't managed to unlock it. We had to search online how to do it, and I can't even begin to tell you how many specific things we had to do to unlock it. It was hands down the most difficult stage we've ever played in SW2 Empires. He played as Yukimura Sanada and I as Musashi Miyamoto. Unfortunately we had alternate playing because the special stages can only be played by 1 player, but it was a lot of fun. I believe the only achievement we have left is to defeat 1000 enemies in a stage, which we haven't really stopped to try it out.
@@Mekartur Yeah getting that stage is certainly an exercise in frustration lol. I haven't completed it from the side of the Toyotomi, but I did as the Tokugawa. When you complete it as the Tokugawa, the campaign ends right then and there.
I love how this game is still being consistently praised. This was my first "Warriors" game, and I sank hundreds of hours into it with a friend when we were young. I love the Empires games, but SW2E scratches an itch that the others just can't seem to reach.
Greatest Empires game in the warriors franchise! I just unclocked every scenario and historical battle (even Osaka campaign, and that was a chore to unlock) Currently working on collecting every policy and character interaction
@@Powerhouse1 if you want a challenge, play the Osaka Campaign on free mode on the Tokugawa’s side on hard or chaos mode and give the enemy the army advantage, and fight Yukimura. He becomes juiced up like Tadakatsu during Sekigahara in OG SW2! Really nice detail to highlight the Toyotomi’s final stand against the Tokugawa. . . PS: Great video as always!
Hey man, great to see you speaking about this gem, probably one of the games I have played most hours... Currently what is the best method to play it? PS2 emulation? Cheers!
My personal recommendation would be to track down a copy for the xbox 360 if you have one of those. You'll get better framerate and also supports 1080p. Emulation is always a good option as well, but sometimes emulation can have strange graphical and framerate glitches depending on the game. Either way, you should be good to go.
I always find Empires version to be better than regular & XL version because there are more stuffs that I can do besides the repetitive hack and slash.
easily one of my favorite games of all time. i wish koei would make a remake. the game always felt limited in what it could achieve and would greatly benefit from updates to the strategy side of things
I got SW4 Empires to run flawlessly on RPCS3, but the game itself is overwhelming to me as a newcomer to the Empires games. But I love SW2 gameplay over SW4 as well for the grounded (almost) realism. But then again SW4 Empire's gameplay looks incredible and feels good in its own way. Between SW2 Empires and SW4 Empires, which would you recommend?

To this day I still play this with a friend. It's good to see it gaining some love. It really is an underrated amazing game
Agreed. Always fun to run through another campaign or two.

Thank U that's my childhood 😩❤️
My childhood too brooo ❤️❤️
This was my first SW2 entry game! Back were the days that was so simple, no problems and I was just naive to everything.
great video. spent half of my childhood playing normal SW2 and never tried empire version, but maybe soon picked it up for nostalgia
Definitely would recommend for you to do so. Well worth it!

Yeah the Osaka one I had to read online how to get that one. It's so specific and takes a long time before it triggers.

Same here. The strategic campaign map gives players allot more to do and allows for more meaning behind every battle.

I agree. I think more characters would've gone a long way for this Empires title.
As someone who grew up playing Samurai Warriors 2, I wish its Empires game was released on PC too along with the Xtreme Legend pack.
Yeah there are definitely several games I would love to see get rereleased on steam, but Koei Tecmo is allergic to money for some reason
Really liked your video man
I appreciate it!
Definitely wanna see dynasty warriors 4 empires’ review!
Damn, 2003.. I was in high school then.
@@NinjaSushi2 I was in elementary school 🤣🤣

Samurai Warriors 2 Empires is my favorite Empires game personally, but both are great games to play.
Samurai Warriors 1 has my favorite SW OSTs
i would love to play Samurai Warriors 4 Empires but sadly it's not on steam D:
Yeah unfortunately it doesn't appear that there is a port coming to the PC anytime soon.
We must endure
Step by step.

Xbox version?
Correct, this is the xbox 360 version.
