- Samurai Warriors 4 DX was recently given a surprise release for Steam. However, Samurai Warriors 4: Empires was not given the same treatment. Today, we take a look at the Empires spinoff to see if it is worth playing.

Really hope they bring this to PC at some point. For some reason the officer AI in this one feels super aggressive and they just non-stop clobber each other. Super fun to bring all your officers with you in one big blob and crash into the enemy's blob of officers.
It started to happen allot with DW6E onwards.
Pleeeease do a PC port. Love the empires games.
Id o hope we get SW4 E on PC
Yeah, let's see what Koei Tecmo have in store.
@@Powerhouse1 I hope they do it soon but what I think would be the best (it will never happen) a warriors orochi empires game, just imagine how cool would that be
@@dantles I've had this same though for a while now, but unfortunately it probably would never be done. I also wanted a gundam empires when Dynasty Warriors Gundam 3 came out, but it seems that the empires titles are relegated to just Dynasty Warriors and Samurai Warriors. There's allot of potential here that Koei Tecmo tends to sleep on.
@@Powerhouse1 yea that is ad fact of life, and as of late 7-8 years all the games that come out don't have that spark like before, look at WO4, tho my favorite game but still, story is crap and game is so damn easy even 1 year old kid can beat it, SW5 is in my personal disaster that should not ever happen, only good thing about that thing is character designs and DW9, don't let me get into to those waters, also Gundam games, what is with that, last one was like 11 years ago, I think TK hates it's fan base and customers, their goal is "how can we ruining everything that was good" damn shame
@@dantles To be fair, KT has delivered some solid titles as well including Nioh 1 and 2. Not saying that they are all masterpieces, but good games are still being made today.
KOEI is one of those companies that are allergic to easy money
fromsoft refuses to release bloodborne on the pc and koei only allows a few of their title on steam
Yeah Koei has such an amazing back catalogue that they refuse to use for some reason. I can see easy money for their older DW and SW titles getting ported and remastered to PC. I would also like to see their more obscure titles like Dynasty Tactics get an opportunity.
Fromsoft doesn't own Bloodborne; Sony does. Fromsoft essentially stated that they would have ported it to pc if they could.
@@Atypical_Chad japan once again being allergic to money despite having incredible talent eager to work
@phylippezimmermannpaquin2062 Well look at it this way. Bloodborne sold around 7.4 million units by 2022; 7 years after release. Horizon Zero Dawn sold 24.3 million units by 2023; 3 years after release. Sony probably doesn't think it's worth the investment.
That said, Elden Ring sold 25 million units by 2024; just 2 years. So it's very plausible that Bloodborne would profit from; A: ppl introduced to soulsborne through Elden Ring, and B: pc players who don't have a PS4.
@@Atypical_Chad theres a very high demand for the game. Something disconnected higher ups would be clueless about
The only thing that really bothers me about the game is that you can't really train your officers like in SW2. Like, there will be certain characters that you want, but they will be so underleveled that'll be kind of useless inside the battlefield.
I agree. It was easier to get attached to your officers in SW2E than in this one.
The only thing i didn't like is they removed all the epiphany skill, they were one of my favorite thing from SW4/4-II.
But it's a nice thing that this game buffed the AI.
Honestly, the whole skill web system in 4 and 4-2 would've been nice to see return for the empires edition, although I'm guessing it would've bogged down the game too much.
Tbh I counlnd't understand how it's played. I'm a huge fan of the whole franchise well more DW and SW for a very long time and rn I've been playing DW8E like crazy :) however I decided to give this one a try was able to find the game but no brother I just don't understand the mechanics quite well lol still looks like an interesting game if you decide to put the time and dedication to it
S/O from Mexico :)
Hey what about this..... Warriors Orochi Empires....
Jk it's impossible.
My idea for a Warriors Orochi Empires would be to either have multiple maps and scenarios to play in or do some sort of mishmash of China and Japan. Who even knows what the world of Orochi looks like lol.
so optimistic to mention a samurai warriors 5 empires. :c
Yeah most likely won't happen at this point. Hard to tell what the next steps of the Samurai Warriors series will be. There hasn't been any news on the next game, so who knows what the state of the series is.
@@Powerhouse1 And SW5 has a perfect set up for a Empires title, allowing for more unique characters using generic movesets.
@@XXLPIakat I agree with that. Only time will tell if KT and Omega Force decide to go in that direction. We will have to see after Dynasty Warriors Origins.
I'm playing it right now on RPCS3. I don't think we need a port for pc. It's too late for a release
They did recently shadow drop SW4 on PC, so I wouldn't be surprised if they dropped SW4E on PC as well
Interesting 👍
