And the fact that all the chaos happens on a space station compared to the size of that planet is crazy. Definitely one of my all-time favorite horror games of all time.
I have honestly always really loved the main menu screen for this game. The soundtrack and ambience is so great, but the best part about it to me is just the visual of a static view of a Sevastopol. What feels like a giant place filled with chaos where the entire game takes place on is made tiny in the wake of the gas giant it orbits, with little dinky lights that make it seem no more significant then a tiny plane and its lights that you might see in the night sky. Any of the storms on the giant could envelop the station in a second if it was down there. And even so, the giant and the station are collectively also surrounded by the void that is space. The sheer difference of scale is perfect for putting in to perspective not only how giant space is, but how inconsequential it seems that such horror is happening on that station. From where we can see it, everything feels so serene.
It's been over a year since I completed the game. Listening to this music and seeing Sevastopol Station hanging over the gas giant still evokes memories of awe, wonder and panic. This game was and is a masterpiece.

When space engine gives you a planet with life near to milky way
in VR
Do you know what it's like not to be able to lie on your left side for six months?
What do you mean? I do not understand the reference😂😂😂😂
Don't get me wrong, I LOVE this main theme soundtrack a lot. It's relaxing but quite dark, and obviously really influenced by Jerry Goldsmith (of course, DUH!). Even though I like this version, I still prefer the original soundtrack made by Jerry Goldsmith anyway - Thank you for this one-hour video anyway!
It's been a full year and I still cover close my eyes and flinch when it sees and attacks me
I have a love-hate relationship with this game, i hate it because it shoots my anixety sky high, i love it because the atmosphere just makes you quake and stand on edge every moment. Ugh the loud sounds of the alien above in the vents, the menecing hiss and growling, crashing down from the vent, and that manical stomping it does, in the distance as it looks for you, it just gives me so much aniexty, making this game the best horror game ever made
I can just feel my HR rising and chest tightning just watching this menu screen. Its somehow happens to be interesting yet frightening at the same time and yet literally nothing happens on it.
...I´am not sure what's more scary...If we are alone in space or not...
I beat this game on the hardest difficulty and it took me 2 years. It only took me that long because I would quit the game for a while then revisit then repeat. To this day I have never played a game that gave me so much anxiety and that I actually had to try hard and outsmart the aliens and robots. This is one of my all time favorite games and I love the title music which is why I’m here. Just had to give a little appreciation to this game.
Game over, man! Game over!
Still scares the shit out of me🤭😄👽
Still the most playable game I revisit once a year
Just occurred to me I want as a Zoom animated wallpaper of a room in Sevastopol Station and once in a while a xenomorph would walk in.
How is possible they never made a theme for ps4 of this game
