Same. At least part of the reason why I have enjoyed this menu so much is because I would launch the game, and the sit around considering if I REALLY want to go ahead and jump back in.
Also, best work break game ever. No problem getting back to work. After 20 mins you get the next save point and your brain is screaming at you, 'can we PLEASE stop already?!'.
Then you get back to work with the benefit of being laser focused due to 20-30mins of sneaking past horror from outer space. Brilliant.

This is such a chilling menu screen, with the dead silence being interrupted by shilling string instruments, angelic melodies and buildup of low pitches. All while massive space station the entire game takes place on is dwarfed by the planet, with its gassiness slowly twisting about it, also the occasional glitchy effect. I have honestly always really loved the main menu screen for this game. I know it's a weird thing to appreciate, but I think it perfectly encapsulates the abject terror of space in general: despite all your struggles, all the horrifying shit you experience upon the Nostromo, you're still just this tiny speck in the face of everything. The blinking light is an inspired touch, also, with the sinister implication that something is wrong even just from watching from afar. Really nearly every aspect of this game is beautifully well-designed.

It's massive. It's miniscule. Sevastopol is both of these things depending on where you are. There is peace on the outside but on the inside, there is chaos. The destruction inside the station is betrayed by the serenity from the perspective of the planet and the stars. The music is gentle yet unnerving, and contrasts EXACTLY like the juxtaposition of the outside viewing of the station. I absolutely love it!

The soundtrack and ambience is so great, but the best part about it to me is just the visual of a static view of a Sevastopol. What feels like a giant place filled with chaos where the entire game takes place on is made tiny in the wake of the gas giant it orbits, with little dinky lights that make it seem no more significant then a tiny plane and its lights that you might see in the night sky. Any of the storms on the giant could envelop the station in a second if it was down there. And even so, the giant and the station are collectively also surrounded by the void that is space. The sheer difference of scale is perfect for putting in to perspective not only how giant space is, but how inconsequential it seems that such horror is happening on that station. From where we can see it, everything feels so serene.

The game perfects the feeling of loneliness and makes you anxious throughout the entire game. We need more horror games like this.

I'll be just fine here in space. Just takin' a nice space walk. I'll never ever gonna step inside that space station again. See here, I'm allergic to all that nasty alien xenomorph things you know. Atmospheric re-entry isn't that hot anyway. They say it's just overrated. Hey my suits starting to glow and it's getting warmer.

This game was different from any horror game I’ve played it just felt inescapable like there was no escape or no way out I would stay in the menu For awhile I’d get in the game and be nervous as hell crouching around a ship thinking If I was in space like this I don’t think I’d survive contemplating. It was really nostalgic played when I was little and still get chills playing this and restarting sometimes😁

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE this main theme soundtrack a lot. It's relaxing but quite dark, and obviously really influenced by Jerry Goldsmith (of course, DUH!). Even though I like this version, I still prefer the original soundtrack made by Jerry Goldsmith anyway - Thank you for this one-hour video anyway!

I have a love-hate relationship with this game, i hate it because it shoots my anixety sky high, i love it because the atmosphere just makes you quake and stand on edge every moment. Ugh the loud sounds of the alien above in the vents, the menecing hiss and growling, crashing down from the vent, and that manical stomping it does, in the distance as it looks for you, it just gives me so much aniexty, making this game the best horror game ever made

I beat this game on the hardest difficulty and it took me 2 years. It only took me that long because I would quit the game for a while then revisit then repeat. To this day I have never played a game that gave me so much anxiety and that I actually had to try hard and outsmart the aliens and robots. This is one of my all time favorite games and I love the title music which is why I’m here. Just had to give a little appreciation to this game.
