  • "Chew the meat, spit out the fat" Do you ever wonder what would happen to society if all industry leaders, creators, & entrepreneurs disappeared? Then you should read "Atlas Shrugged" like many top level leaders recommend. Here's my take on it! Have you read the book? I'd love to hear your take on it too! PS: Also, don't forget to tune in at 10:30 on Friday for a guest interview with Kelly McLeskey Dolata!! You are going to be so encouraged! (and the recipe for mango salsa in comments :)

When we were in high school, our English teacher would always remind us that good writing would always "show, not tell". This book is full of exposition.

What do you not agree on? - This philosophy is deep and you need to think about it. You don't like John Galt is "perfect" - but that was her goal, to describe the ideal man. Also, John Galt is perfect as he will admit when he is wrong, unlike most people.

This is a good review. I thought it was going to come from another Randian fanatic at first.

    Really enjoyed your review!
I had a competition with my GF as to who could read the most books in February, so I read Atlas Shrugged in 10 days. Time consuming but one of the best books I’ve ever read.

Mango Salsa Recipe: Remove 1/2 tsp zest and squeeze 2 Tbsp juice from 1 lime. In a bowl combine lime zest and juice; 1 1/2 cups chopped mango, 3/4 cup finely chopped red sweet pepper, 1/4 cup sliced green onions, 2 Tbsp coconut oil, 1 fresh Scotch bonnet or serrano chile pepper, seeded and finally chopped, and 1/4 tsp each sea salt & Black Pepper. Notes: I usually leave out the hot peppers (for the fam!) and serve it with prosciutto wrapped pork loin!!

This book review sounds like are modern society. It by what you’ve said sounds like 1984 by Orwell. Though police, lack of reason, and emotions over facts. Maybe she should have titled it 2017.

Best book I ever read. Read it when I was a teen and it blew my mind.

I'm curious if you liked it because you believe in objectivism or in spite of it? I find this book to be a complete fantasy, but is seen as a realistic guide for people on the far right, which actually scare me.

She used fictional characters and fictional happenings to prove her philosophy. Her evidence is as reasonable and rational as those in Marvel universe.

Why is it that none of the reviewers note that the main character of the book (John Galt) does not show up for about 600 pages? And when he does show up he sounds like a Junior College professor of double entry bookkeeping!

Loved your book review, reassured me that I picked a good book (Atlas shrugged). Please do more book reviews. Thanks also for the mango salsa recipe. I make something similar, ingredients included are: 1 shredded mango, 1-2 green chilli, chopped coriander, grilled garlic, salt and lemon juice.

"It's well written but the writing seems to bog down" Actually you can't stop the engine of the world. The world is not run by engines but by people who run the engines. This author's idea of responsibility is to leave everything when the government is making it too hard for you to make a profit. One guy even puts his oil fields on fire that lasts forever.

I imagine you mean your favorite book is The Art of War not the War of Art.

No, actually, I do mean The War of Art by Stephen Pressfield. It's an amazing book! You'd probably like it!

this book is like the biggest meme, people repost it until someone is dumb enough to read the whole thing. Can't believe you made it through the whole pile of crap and didn't notice thse smell.
