    Mike brought a ten pounder . Added what you did , just a little more chopped garlic . Now it's in the oven for ten hrs at 300 degrees . I put it in a big turkey pan with the lid , now am I to take it out like a hour a head of time check it , if it doesn't fall off bone put back in with out the lid not sure . Wish me luck .Good Health to all. Let's be safe out there EVERYONE. Mike was I supposed to put the fat side down ? I did Think you Mike , Going to be a good Sunday dinner .

    I will try this. I have never make Boston shoulder in oven but when it is cold and raining and terrible winds. Oh well. hope for the best.

    Did a 13 pound pork shoulder following this. 12 hours at 300 covered plus 45 min uncovered. It was fantastic. Thanks for the video!

    I seasoned mine so it can stay over night...but I blend all my seasonings with olive oil and also stuff the garlic...Always delicious..

      There are so many ways to cook Boston Butt. I also like to throw it in the smoker but I use different seasonings when I do that.

    Sounds delicious and all man but for anyone here tryna make one I do have suggestions.
    Get some rib rub famous Dave’s specifically
    Mustard binder
    Leave uncovered for first few hours so a bark forms
    Cover for last two-one hours and put a lil beer, or apple juice, or angry orchard in the bottom before hand
    Makes a beautiful fall apart pork shoulder.

    Thanks, Mike. I am an expert with pizza, pasta, and bread, but not with meats. My parents have been complaining that they have not had "porchetta" in ages. Though this recipe is not Italian porchetta, it is close enough and today I bought a pork butt. I will follow your recipe, with some modifications, and look forward to the results.

    I'm a procrastinator so when he said about an hour a pound...I loooked at my roast and almost fainted ...9.190 pounder...now I HAVE to wait till the morning to pop this in. I'm so friggin happy I found this, I'm going to smoke some herb and watch this video two more times. This will teach me how not to lagggggg on the roast hahaha much love 💗

      Hey Saucey, I just brought home .99 cents a pound for $25! That's two 12 pound pork shoulders! OMG! OMG! Now I feel like I'm trying to dispose of a dead body. I've never cooked so much meat in my life. Seemed like a good idea at the time. Hope I don't burn the house down. 🌋 I'm scared now!

      @Rooster Dog One of the secrets to Aaron Franklin's awesome briskets is the amount of rest time. Too bad that so many people don't understand that crucial step in the full process of doing briskets or pork shoulders. I always rest my briskets no less than four hours, but usually 6-12.

    I recommend uncovered till it is 160/165. Then cover till it is 200-205. Kinda like in a smoker

    I bought a 4 1/2 lb pork roast by accident (don't ask... Lol), and even though I love to cook, i've never made anything similar without using a crockpot. Some family will be here tonight for dinner, so luckily your video popped up and I feel much less in a panic now! 😨 Lol.

    "Yellow rice"? What seasonings were put into the rice? It too looks delicious. (I ran a search on your video list for rice, but the only hit that came up was this very same video of the pork)

      Tumeric or saffron. Just sprinkle on the top as you are cooking it and then it will colour the whole rice dish.

      @@lindab6901 it’s really good. Mum used to do it all the time growing up. More so tumeric because saffron can be expensive but give it a go. It’s not a strong taste either but it’s there. Depending on taste preference she also put in parsley and sultanas but some people don’t like that.

    I recommend you watch the video first I made the mistake of going along with the video there were so many commercials popping up and I couldn’t hit the skip bad because I had Pork And seasoning all over my hands. Just a lot of commercials

    This is right how I've done mine. With the stuffing of the garlic and spices. I usually buy my butt when its .99 cents a pound. I make a gravy too with the fat drippings. Yum yum. Thanks for sharing.

      Yes the pork is a good deal when on sale. Also skinless boneless chicken breasts are .99 cents too. I usually stock up the chest freezer.

    I pulled mine our an hour early to check the temp and it was overcooked... pork is done at 145 F... mine was over 200 F... but still edible. Maybe my oven but I wish it was more tender.

    Try putting the meat on top of celery and your onions then remove the celery when it's done so much more flavor as well!!! Great video!!

    When you said an hour per pound of meat I thought you had lost your mind. But it wasn't too long after all. I'm cooking one today and even though I'm out of the Sazon I will use what seasonings that I have. I like the idea of the bed of onions. Thank you for sharing your recipe. 💜👍😎

    Instead of lemon I use a little vinager,add worstishire and a little soy sauce with my other house seasoning, with bed off onion add a little apple juice,or inject the meat with some liquid smoke

    mike i think will taste better if u marinade in that juice for one night or two in the fridge....and most of the people love the crispy skin but I understand u like without skin....I'm Latino and I know how to cook this pork but to me the best guys cooking this..... are the Puerto Ricans and Dominicans my respect for those guys...good video Mike with all the mistakes😂😂😂 but good video.

    I use an injector to infused seasoning in the interior of the meat. it makes it moist and savory.

      I do that sometimes too but usually when I'm smoking the meat.

      By using an injector, you are making nice little pathways IN your pork roast for the heat to travel through FASTER and therefore your cooking time will be thrown off, not to mention the fact that your pork roast will NOT be at the internal temperature that you desire.
      Slow roasting pork at 250 DF yields a much BETTER result.
