Same! I miss it so much. I remember being 5 years old and completing the whole game. I for real took all coins and got 99 lifes at the end xD. I don't understand how I could do it in that age.
Maybe replacing the Toads or having more characters to unlock with special abilities and an option to choose if you want to play with or without specific character habilities, that would be an amazing idea. I don't know why Nintendo didn't do that in SMM2.
Hey. About the 2D Item Sprites, I think I know where those are used. In Toad Houses, there is a minigame where you climb on a wall and flip panels to reveal items. I could be wrong but I think it uses those sprites for it.
The double search light (1:15) and flashlight thing (4:44) were used in 6-5(?), the dark underground/underwater raft level in world 6. Pretty sure these aren't unused, unless these are different versions
Fun fact: The mega mushroom was going to be in New super mario bros wii but it was cut from the final game because there was a problem with the Mega mushroom and multiplayer Mode. Description: The player would be able to destroy everything while taking a lot of Space on the screen.
If I ever make a game, I’m putting in SO many Easter eggs for people like you to find, like naming a cut item “Load_this_in” and when you load it into the game, it actually works and it was purposely cut so dataminers can have fun while searching through the game’s files
4:43 I think this is used in a cave level in world 6, where you're on a boat in a a dark cave.. 6:57 Isn't that the sound for completing a stage in Free Play Mode in multiplayer?
Yoshi was planned to be held at the end of a level, my game glitched sometime somehow. He went with mario through the end castle, but didn't come to the world screen.

All these reminders that games should have had more content is sad. But what's sadder is some companies deliberately cut content to sell it back to us.
This is my first Mario game, which I played for the first time back in 2011, and it was really fun learning about all the stuff that was cut! :D I'm disappointed they were crazy enough to choose a pink yoshi over red though...
Also i've heard that: World 2 was supposed to have a Ghost House World 3 was supposed to have 2 ghost houses World 4 originally had another level (4-6) World 5 originally had another level (5-6) World 6 originally had another level (6-7) and no wrap cannon World 7 originally had another level (7-7) World 8 originally had another level (8-8) and was supposed to have a second tower World 7-5 had world 1's background Yoshi cookies were supposed to appear and serve the same purpose as the fruits
Man this was the first video game I had ever played. Thank god I played this instead of the Switch games (since they were at one point only ports and the Wii was the OG motion gaming console, also it had super Mario galaxy)
if you listen closely, you could hear an sm64 mario falling sound effect in the background 2:17 edit: and also sm64 mario burning 4:05, and the ending for nsmbw 5:50
This one took quite a while, as it was a collaboration. It takes a few hours to write and record, and then roughly and hour of editing per minute of video. Over time I've improved and gotten quicker at it, though. Even though it only takes around 12 to 15 hours to make a full video, there's a lot of procrastination involved, and a lot of waiting for things.
Theory: The mystery bubble might have been the orb, and what orb I meant was the ones found in Super Mario World, which when touched would end the level immediatedly. So this meant that it would be the first time in about 19 years that such a item would be reintroduced to the series, kinda cool concept! In reality, it would just be useless though.
Just a thought about the palm trees labeled W3. In computer arrays/lists, the counting starts at zero, versus one. So the first item in an array is item 0, not item 1. That could be why the props are labeled W3, when they go to World 4, World 4 would be item 3 in that last, and they could've named the asset according, but I could be 100% wrong! That was just the first thing that came to me!
I think that the “Cheep Fanfare” jingle was originally used for when you complete an enemy ambush in World 4, since it revolves around a Porcupuffer, or maybe originally Cheep Cheeps. My theory is that enemy ambushes would result in a different fanfare depending on which World the ambush was in. This was probably cut early, since it’s the only fanfare of its kind.
I can’t believe this game is a decade old, It felt like yesterday I was playing NSMBW, And the last time I did was 7 years ago.
I've been playing around with New Super Mario Bros Wii since 2011, and even got the fun Newer Super Mario Bros Wii hack for it a year ago!
EARLY PENGUIN SUIT IS COMING FOR YOU

Last time I played was 1/1/2020
Honestly.... it’s scary
Miyamoto: “we couldn’t program Peach’s dress”
Also Miyamoto: PEACHETTE
tbf, that was a decade later.
The switch is more powerful
Wonder if it was a subtle nod to it
Hacks NSMBW and NSMBU to make Princess Peach playable. What would Miyamoto's reaction be to Peach being playable in NSMBW, NSMBU, SMM2, and SMO?
@@wallyfromthepapaseriagames5278 Pretty sure that wouldn't have been a limitation issue.
The unknown "fanfare" sound was actually an early version of the jingle that plays when you collect every star coin in a world
Yeah, it does sound like it!
4:43 Everyone forgets that level in World 6.
No, this light is centered around Mario and not on the raft light
Here's a fact: The penguin suit was originally going to be a chicken suit
This comment made me want a chicken suit in mario or a bird suit Xd
This is why there's an ice flower ! Because the pinguin was suppose to be a chicken !
@@superworldteam6360 !!!
@@superworldteam6360 I'm glad we got penguin suit instead though
If only we lived in the timeline where Wario and Waluigi were also playable in this game.
More like a Bonus Minigame of VS mode.
Yeah ;-;

Technically, Wario is playable due to his own games. The only one who comes short is, ironically, the tallest one, our beloved friend Waluigi...
@@asmylia9880 he is playable Tennnis ,Kart, and Parties

@TCCO - The Cut Content Of
Eh, it’s fine. It’s still a really good video!
YES!!! Thank you for covering this it's one of my favorites and it got me into gaming
7:24 In other words, Peach got cut because Nintendo was too lazy.
And They made it playable in Mario RUN
Lol
She was literally kidnapped
Eventually, in the later NSMB games, the cut content was content that's actually new
"The new part was the unused part"
Why do i see u everywhere lol
Caught you with neb ;)

Christopher Moon since you have failed to comply I have posted your details somewhere on the internet. Have fun.

"We couldn't program Peach's dress"
Peach in 3D World and Peachette: So, still can't program a dress huh?
I’m surprised you didn’t mention how the Toads’ powerup outfits were different in early footage. Otherwise, good stuff.
The cheepfanfare_lr.rv.32 sounds very similar to the jingle that plays when you get all the star coins in a world.
He lives!
The double search light (1:15) and flashlight thing (4:44) were used in 6-5(?), the dark underground/underwater raft level in world 6. Pretty sure these aren't unused, unless these are different versions

It's actually interesting how some custom levels use the key, and it works perfectly
7:02 this sound is really simular to the sound when you got all Star Coins in a world or if got 5 Stars in a Gamefile.
That might be why some people think they've heard it before!
In the Kamek Battle Tileset, you can find the NSMB overworld groundblocks. No idea why.
The 2D item icons were used in the powerup panels minigame, for the results screen.

ruclips.net/video/UClhmtBArEs/видео.html looking back into this trailer, some things were ported from the ds version of this build:
coin sounds

power up sound (when you grab an item and lose an item)
things that are different from this to now:
mario's voice when you use the propeller
the propeller woosh sound
