    Glad you brought up Dhampir, it's a guilty pleasure race of mine and they do make really good sorcerers.

    I've been following/lurking this channel for a while, so I decided to finally chime in because I do love sorcerers. (and spellcasters in generral.)While your advice was great as-always, I'm sad you didn't mention one of the strongest, but most underrated bloodlines: the Undead bloodline. While seemingly underwhelming at first glance, the undead bloodline is actually one of the strongest options in the game for a minion-focused necromancer due to it's bloodline arcana. The reason? The ability to treat undead as humanoids for enchantment spells and use those spells on them allows you to use things like, say, Dominate Person, on undead (many of which, I may add, can create spawn), letting you control intelligent undead better than a cleric, oracle or necromancer wizard. While clerics and oracles may be the undisputed masters of skeletons and zombies, the undead bloodline sorcerer is the undisputed master of intelligent undead due to their bloodline arcana. The Oracle, Cleric and even Necro Wizard's command undead can let them control things earlier, yes, but their control is pretty terrible, as the undead get a save every day, and vs. a dump stat in the wizard's case and to a lesser extent the cleric's. (Not to mention they have a hard HD cap on what they can control with the feat. The undead sorcerer meanwhile, with their whole "dominate person the undead" trick means their enslaved intelligent undead only get new a save every some-odd weeks (when the spell expires and the sorc has to re-cast it.), against the sorcerer's spellcasting stat.(and the only "cap" on what you can control being your spells/day.) Likewise, you can still play at controlling some undead early with the Control Undead spell, which is strictly better for you than for a wizard since your more likely to make the charisma check if you use it on intelligent undead.
    This means that while a cleric or oracle will undoubtedly be better with the spell Animate Dead the sorcerer is superior to everybody when it comes to the control of intelligent undead, and thats pretty darn cool. Likewise, grasp of the grave and the ghostly form the undead sorcerer gets are both solid abilities, so I think the undead bloodline is quite underrated since so many people ignore how great it is to be able to take control of intelligent undead with enchantment spells instead of the command undead feat.
    If you want to go for the undead army sorcerer, Kitsune is actually the best race despite dhampir being more fluff-fitting precisely because you want high enchantment DCs for enslaving your intelligent undead minions. You will still be a compulsion focused character, but unlike say the Fey sorcerer you'll likely have less enchantment spells known in favor of more necromancy, having only a few choice offensive enchantments, Dominate Person for your minions and then filling the rest of your known spells list with defenses, the Create Undead line (so you can make intelligent undead to bring under your control) and a few potent Necromancy debuffs since the debuffs from Necromancy play well with enchantment spells. (since "softening up" enemy saves with necromancy spells so things like Hold Person hit easier is nice.) It's a very specific build, but a very fun one if you like the idea of your minion hoard being mostly wights, ghasts, ghouls etc.. as appose to the traditional skeletons and zombies (though you can certainly have a few of those boping around too) and a refreshing change of pace to the traditional blaster or fey enchanter sorcerer.
    Just thought I'd mention this because it's a fun, if specific, build for the sorcerer. Also, keep your vids coming as they are always great!

    Gnome with eleamental fire blood line and the promancer race traet is a great build. It gave you 1 exstra dice of damge to any fire spell and you can make any spell do fire damage. So now your fire ball will be( 7d10 )damge at level 6. If you tack gifted adited magic treat that 1 more dice to any one spell.( Fireball 8d10 ) then tack the tattooed archetype evocation adds that another dice .(9d10) crossblood archetype dragon rad and that adds 1 damge per dice to any fire spell.(10d10+9) tho you need to be at lest level 7 to pull it off.thorw in a Rob of empower spell and maximize spell and you end up with 1 fire ball doing 153 flat damge. ( 11d10+9 add 50% is effectly 14d10+13 maxaize that and you get 153 damge)

    The Advanced Player's Guide has Elemental Spell. It adds a level to the spell, but lets you change half or all the damage to a specific type (chosen when you take the feat).
    This would let a Blue Dragon Sorcerer cast Fireballs that do Electricity damage and get the bloodline's +1/die damage.

    • @d6damage93

    The Sorcerer class is great especially with a Pitborn(+2 Strength, +2 Charisma, -2 Intelligence) Tiefling with the Abyssal Bloodline and the ability percentile of 50. +1 Natural Armor Bonus and 68. Damage Reduction 2/Cold Iron. Pick the race feat Armor of The Pit for +2 Natural Armor Bonus. Alternate traits like Prehensile Tail and Fiendish Sprinter are great in combat like having a potion on 'hand' when casting or being able to stay out of melee range is nice when you dont have Fly spell on hand.

    I am playing a sorcerer of the undead bloodline right now, I didn't realize how fitting it was going to be to the store until apparently were out to find this lich and kill him in the end. I'm planning on multiclassing her to a fighter so I can Prestige Eldritch Knight, but so far I love playing this character. One of their final abilities that they gain is called one of us which apparently means the undead will see you as one of them and will not attack you. I have not told the DM this yet

    Crossblooded archetype- Elemental with primal archetype(fire), and arcane bloodline. Get spell focus-evocation and elemental focus and metamagic feats and improved initiative, aasimar musetouched blood. traits- magic linage to lower spell level of spells affected by metamagic feats, and exiled to get more initiative= a fireball that will do absolute assloads of dmg all the while your enemies havent even moved a muscle because you went first

    • @thanatos7430
      @thanatos7430 7 лет назад

      Ironmann199 Can't do Crossblooded + Primal Bloodlines. Primal Bloodlines belong to the Wildblood Archetype, and it can't be stacked with Crossblooded.
      That is why the usual trick is Crossblooded Orc/Dragon or picking one of those Bloodlines and trading your first Bloodline Power for the Bloodline Mutation Blood Havoc.
      A fun build to do would be Sorc6/Ninja1/Arcane Trickster 10. Use Accomplished Sneak Attacker to qualify for the 2d6 Sneak Attack with only 1 Ninja level. Then your basic Fireball does 10d6+20+(7d6 Sneak Attack) make liberal use of Vanishing Trick and enjoy. If Evil, Demonic Obedience (Shax) can give another 3d6 Sneak Attack. Sniper's Goggles would add +2 damage per die of Sneak Attack.
      One other bit of fun, the Metamagic Feat Elemental Spell changes damage without changing descriptor. This means if you picked Dragon (Red) for Fire, and fought something fire immune, you could use Elemental Spell (Cold) to change the damage to Cold entirely and still get the bonus damage from your Bloodline Arcana.

    I'm working on a build now, it's a tiefling (demon spawn for Str and Cha bonuses) crossblooding the abyssal and draconic bloodlines, and then going Dragon Disciple prestige class. FCB of the tielfling increases the number of rounds I can have my claws up, so that basically I can keep it going all day long. Taking the best of both worlds, I'll get to fly, have a breath weapon, have claws that deal fire and lightning damage (still seeing if they stack), and having massive boosts to strength. Still working on him, but I'm excited to give it a shot.

  • @jrRabet
    @jrRabet 7 лет назад

    the crossblooded arctype is great. my favorite combo is draconic/elemental, then trading the bloodline powers for the blood mutation abilities. this gives you a caster that can make any spell their element, add+1 damage per die from 2 different sources that can stack, some free uses of intensify spell and can shred enemy element res and spell res by your charisma mod a few times per day. This combo is brutal AF.

    • @elsydeon666
      @elsydeon666 6 лет назад

      Blood mutation? That sounds like wildblooded, which is explicitly stated to be NOT compatible with the crossblooded archetype as they both affect bloodline arcana and bloodline powers.

      2 years later i recomend you to check out Draconic/Orc that makes you add 2 damange per die rolled and if you're an half orc with your favored class bonus you have another 1 damange every 2 levels, that makes your fireball deal like 20d6+50 dmg '^^

  • @thanatos7430
    @thanatos7430 7 лет назад +1

    I know Sorcerers generally don't like multiclassing, but I did think to point out a few things that can make it a bit more stomachable.
    If your DM allows Inner Sea Magic, joining a Mage's Guild and getting 5 and later 35 Fame, can make up for 3 lost levels of spellcasting. Esoteric and Eclectic Learning call out giving spell slots and spells known, so that will free up 3 levels in a build.
    The Feats Favored Prestige Class and Prestigious Spellcaster can give +1 level of spellcasting to a Prestige Class that doesn't give full progression. Examples are Eldritch Knight, Dragon Disciple, and Soul Eater. Now you can take Prestigious Spellcaster more than once, but strictly speaking Rules as Written the feat only increases caster level after the first time. It is not an unreasonable assumption Rules As Intended to say each time you take it that the PRC would gain +1 level of spellcasting.
    If you put all of this together you can lose up to 4 levels of Sorcerer (or any other caster) to get your build how you want it and still end up with Sorcerer 20 spellcasting.

    Yo, nice guide. I appreciate that you singled out Kitsune and Humans for their spectacular benefits. I believe that the draconic/abyssal claws aren't that good, though. I don't think the draconic/abussal claws are all that great, but I'm sure they can be really fun as a surprise to spring on any enemy that thinks they've got you cornered.
    Question. Will you ever do a full rundown of the (Unchained?) Summoner class? I think that class can use some love.

    Have you thought about Eldritch Heritage feats at all? I love sorcerers a whole bunch, so epically if I'm playing a Half elf, I like to pretend I'm part one with that line of feats. Also it is super useful if you want a familiar in a different class like Bard. Anyways, another great video. Aberrant blood line approved.

      Cross blooding can be tricky because of the one fewer spell known at each level and the -2 to will saves. The spell know problem can be negated by going with human as your race and using the favored class bonus. As for the will save take a cloak of resistance when you can get it. For spell choice always take summon monster as both your bloodline arcana augments summoning.
