The most interesting seeing these ancient races is that most of the entire season was broadcast in open channel (ABC, CBS and NBC) and few races in a closed channel (ESPN) and today we have only 5 or 6 races broadcast on ABC and higher part broadcast on NBC. What happened to this reversal occur? US Open TV broadcasters have no interest in putting sports in its program schedule? Here in Brazil has only just football and Formula 1 in open channel, the other sports are all closed TV (SPORTV, ESPN Brazil and Fox Sports). The Indy now has broadcast only 3 races (Indy 500, mixed Indy and some race which takes place Saturday afternoon, time that does not coincide with football) on TV Bandeirantes and with a poor coverage and other races appear in Band Sports .
this was the last NBC Sportsworld IndyCar race for a long time. Don Criqui was one of the faces of Sportsworld back then, you'd see him here and also at the 1990 NHRA Budweiser Summernationals in Englishtown also in NJ that happened a week before
And in 1994 NBC ended up covering the Toronto Grand Prix, which coincided to be the day of the World Cup final between Brazil and Italy (is it because ESPN / ABC was broadcasting the final and there would be no space in the schedule to show the race? ). Then returned to display some evidence of Champ Car and returning definitively with its sports channel from 2012, and from what I have read and accompanied the forums hence the quality of the trajnsmissions of NBC Sports has been very good, surpassing even the traditional ABC. Even with low ratings, it has exceeded the expectations of IndyCar staff.
+Steve Austin (xFullBoost) I prefer the PPG Supra. In fact all the PPG Pace Cars of that decade were pretty badass. Now its just Chevy Vettes. So boring!
Wooow that 81 Fire must have been a mess looked like half of pit stalls were burned hope everyone got away from it this happens in Nascar as well. 37:00 WTF Bobby Rahal really awesome racing luv road courses nomatter if its IndyCars,NASCAR or Sports Car Series terrific races.
Thank you for uploading these Indaycar!
Man, I went to several of these back in the day. Used to live 30 min from there
I long for the day when IndyCar returns to this type of prominence.
IndyCar should come back to Meadowlands or New York City, like they planned to do in the 1990's
FordFanatic Productions ; Good idea
Race start 9mins 30secs. 🏁NTT Indycar series 🏁 Great upload, the Meadowlands circuit, fantastic.👌
the golden era of the american open wheel racing.
The best era of Indycar & this was the best era of NBC Sportsworld aka my favorite sportsworld theme 1989-1992
Awesome update!

A.J. Foyt's last top 5 finish in an Indy car.
Can you guys please upload the 1989 race?
Agreed...it got copyright struck the last time it was uploaded
at least Indycar still is as equal as in the past, unlike F1.

+dcinhere What is PPF?
+dcinhere PPG sorry.
***** PPG is or used to be a major automobile paint manufacturer. Top of the line. They do quite a bit. But their paint and color choices are amazing.
