For me even if just making it bonemealable to be like nano crop farms would be pretty cool for now, and if potions become stackable this would be very cool
I would never implement this in vanilla. This type of changes feel like an attempt to simplify the mechanics of Minecraft to suck out all the fun of coming up with ways to automate things given the limitations of the mechanics.
tbh, who needs nether warts anyway. In the ~10 years of playing the game i've personally never needed to automate nether wart. a small little soul sand patch of ~40 blocks is more then enough for lets say ~5 players. if mojang made each potion require ~10 warts or something then farms like these would be more relevant. my point is its not a priority and i doubt to see it change unless potions in general get a overhaul.
It's useful for mass crafting potions when you have a farm that wants to use them. With auto brewers tand bottle refilling it's possible to get quite a few potions made with correct timings, the bit that holds it back becomes netherwart.
Came across this vid on my fyp, you got a nice voice man

Good Video keep up the work
(: they may make it automatic later on if they add a combat update for stackable options but yeah (:

i still find the idea of automating nether wart cool
