I recently purchased a huge coin collection from a family. Most of the coins we collected prior to 1980 and while a large portion were organized in Albums, thousands of coins were accumulated an stored in cigar boxes as loose coins. This video features over $500 in 90% silver melt value. Let's see how many key or semi-key day dimes or quarters can find in this pile.
You won't want to miss any of this series if you love coin roll hunting. I'm hunting through all of these old coins looking specifically for varieties and rarities that may be hiding in these piles. This is somewhat similar to coin roll hunting, looking for the special treasures or varieties, but better!
Key and semi-key date coins are terms used in numismatics to describe coins that are relatively scarce and are therefore considered more valuable or collectible than other dates in a particular series.
A key date coin is the rarest and most difficult to find in a given series. These coins are often the ones that collectors seek out to complete their collections, and they tend to command higher prices due to their scarcity.
On the other hand, a semi-key date coin is not as rare as a key date but is still less common than other dates in the series. Semi-key dates are also sought after by collectors and may carry a premium over more common dates.

I got very interested in collecting coins after I've found an old german coin in my backyard (in Croatia). I am not looking for rarity, but rather anything affordable that would mark a specific historic period, or an exact year of an event that I find interesting. Now I've ordered my first 4 coins from ebay and while I'm waiting for the delivery I cant help but wonder if those coins could be fake. Some are old and the price was low. Maybe you could help me at least to offer your opinion on these 4 coins and if the price seems realistic. I've tried to see if you have email to send svreenshots but didn't see it in the channel description. Mate
