    This is gold if you own this strimmer. I was ready to give up on the line eater. I got the same line 2.4 and a subtle bump on the grass feeds the line. Thanks so much massive help.

    Just re-filled my line hungry B&D strimmer with 2.4mm as suggested.
    Absolutely different beast and the line seems to last forever.
    With 2.4mm line, the strimmer is a beast!
    Thank you so very much.

    I am currently looking to buy my first strimmers and had kinda decided on this one as reviews looked good, decided to RUclips reviews first and delighted I came across your video, seriously considering this one now and as you say just to buy the 2.4 cord. Its a bit more expensive than other strimmers but worth it if it's good. Thank you for your review.

    2nd time using this one, the string i think ran out. Big garden haha.
    I'm struggling to replace it. It came with those blue replacement ones, the manual is just pictures and not text.

    I'm looking at this one right now, my garden has become quite overgrown, quite tall grass and weeds starting to form. Would a grass trimmer like this work well? Cheers mate.

    Is it possible to make your own individual line for the heavy duty reel? Can you slide your own line in or do you have to buy their ones. Or is it not worth using the heavy duty reel and just normal reel with thicker line?

    • @lozl
      @lozl  Год назад

      Yeah thats I've what I've gone with. The slightly thicker line, I think its 2.5mm (the one I talk about in the video.
      I've been using it all this time. It works really well and doesn't eat through the line, it's nice and slow at consuming line

    Hi Loz L, great video. Whereabouts did you buy your 2.4mm line from? I'm new to this so wondered how you got the new line on to the spool.., i.e. just remove the old and add the new? Thanks

      Do you think you could replace with actual metal wire instead of nylon? Maybe the reason they don’t is safety, but it would last a lot longer maybe 👍

    • @lozl
      @lozl  Год назад +1

      @@ianwhittaker3041 I had thought about this too, I think I might have even gone as far as to try it. If I remember correctly I used the steel inner cable from a bicycle brake cable. It broke up in a very short time :)

    Did you just wind some 2.4mm line around the spool provided once the lightweight line was gone? And was it difficult to get the 2.4mm line to stay on the spool workout unwinding as this kept happening to me on my old strimmer, hence why I purchased a newer heavy duty version. Thanks 👍🏻

    • @lozl
      @lozl  2 года назад +1

      Yes Ben, it just wound on there and went through the hole, it's a little tight but it works OK. It doesn't seem to unwind too quick. It's definitely a major improvement

    Thanks for this video. Superb.
    I'm a gardener and just bought this one knowing it's issues with the line. The 2.4 has been ordered straight away.
    What I was looking for is a DIY answer to the heavy duty spool and line. I knew the replacements would be a joke and yep. £1 per line pretty much.
    There has to be something you can make/change where you can just buy some 3 or 4 mm line and have some clip where you can unclip, put a new 10 to 12 inch line through and reclamp it back down. (I hope that makes sense.) It does seem a decent strimmer.

    • @lozl
      @lozl  6 месяцев назад

      Thabks for your kind comment. Yeah that makes sense. I messed about for a good while with it. The great thing is all that power. It's more powerful than quite a number of a petrol strimmers.
      Try the thicker line. I think you'll find thats all you'll need.

    Currently I have 20 metres of useless strimmer wire, after watching this video.
    If you have just bought this excellent strimmer, think how it felt using the installed wire, and what it could cut through.
    If you decide to increase the diameter of the wire, you will have a totally different experience. Like taking the whole head off when the wire inevitably gets short....
    I went back to the recommended strimmer diameter, no hassles, almost always the ideal length of wire, automatically dispensed.
    And it cuts through everything I would expect it to.

    • @lozl
      @lozl  4 месяца назад

      Sorry to hear that. That wasn't the experience I had. It was useless with the correct wire. The auto feed worked well but it got thorough the entire reel in the head in just a few minutes. My garden started to look orange from all the Strimmer wire :)
