Agree. Both RHCP albums with Josh were very good. The Getaway is probably their creative peak for me. And it was with Josh. He did a great job though I have to say i didn’t appreciate him at the time. No I wish John Frusciante hadn’t come back.
I feel bad for him too, though tbf RHCP was a good gig for 10 years and got him enough recognition that he should have ample opportunities going forward. I do wish John frusciante's ego wasn't so big- if they kept Josh in the band as a backup guitarist/bassist/keyboardist/vocalist, that would have been really exciting.
@@AlexW-wv4nt I would be already satisfied when John would put his ego a little bit aside and play some songs fro IWY and The Gateway, I became a fan of the RHCP when I'm with you came out and it sucks to know that I will never hear these songs live again. Because those records have a big place in my heart. Also I think it wouldn't be fair to put Josh as a side musician with the RHCP, feels awkward. I'm happy he's with Eddie and Pearl jam, they show him the love he deserves + he has now more time for his solo stuff and that is amazing. Hope to see him play a solo show in Europe one day.
@@larastiegler7126 that's true, it seems Josh is very happy with pearl jam, that's a good fit for him. Yeah I agree, I wish John would play some Josh songs too. "Sick Love" is still one of my favorites. I love John but he can be very petty
@@AlexW-wv4nt don't get me wrong I like John as well, I just don't understand that he's not willing to play songs from Josh or Dave, I mean show some respect to these guys as they did with your stuff. Especially with Josh, they worked together so much in the earlier 2000s.
Loved the interview! Great questions! Thanks for telling him he's brilliant cause he is! He makes me feel so many things with his music and by always being so humble and genuine. I couldn't ask for a better artist to admire to, he means the world to me. Hope to see J again in Argentina.
I couldnt of said it better, you dont see that to much anymore , i thought it was really kind of Fup how he was fired ,or the way they did it more or less, it could of been done a lot more respectable.
Not gonna lie, Josh seems way less stressed now than a few years ago when he was subbing for John that decade. Imma self proclaimed die-hard rhcp fan, and I ADORED Josh’s era, but I’m honestly happy that he’s out of the Chili Peppers now b/c how free he seems to feel during interviews such as this. He seems like he’s more himself now! Josh you’re very much looked up to by so many!
Josh is a sweet genuine human being, awesome interview!! I'm so happy he is doing his solo on stage and performing with Pearl Jam, my favorite band on this planet!! Incredible job Josh!! Thank you for sharing this awesome video 😊💓🤘✌️
Loved Im with you, loved the getaway, thank you Josh. Thank you for having given us some awesome songs in our favorite band. Ps: great interview. Shes a fan 😂
The guy has so much class and it is a big Frusciante fan speaking. The more interviews i watch the more respect I have for him. Actually, I tend to think now that the best chili peppers line-up ever would be with 2 guitarists : John and Josh. And these two made albums together, sometimes with Flea as guest, so it should have been possible.
I started playing guitar due John, he is a virtuoso, but he is just a human and has chance for mistakes. I respect Josh more, even though the former is the reason and inspiration for guitar.
John can become too self centred and thin skinned. He gets easily offended. Flea says that he is a pure musician who shuts out people around him. He lives for the music more than the fame, money and being with the band on the road. Back in the mid 00's I would watch interviews with the band and with John on his own, made from the late 90's to the mid 00's, and from the way he spoke it was like he was on another planet. He is is more down to earth when he speaks now.
I looked on Google and it seems as though both of the young inductees were 32 when they were inducted into the hall of Fame so it's all down to the time of year they were born and the the date for the ceremonies which I absolutely cannot be bothered to look into. First equal youngest.
He really just became a member simply because he was a member of the group when they were inducted. He was not a party to the work that got them there. At that time he had only played on one album (I'm With You). He is a good artist but didn't have a body of work worthy of a RRHOF induction.
@@TheSkydiverphoenix He says that himself. He was unfortunate in that during the more a decade he was with the band that the other members were focused on raising small children and taking things slowly. He has always been a prolific writer, and a lot of his efforts were sidelined in order to go at pace required by his band mates. A lot of the songs written for his first album with them will never be heard. People complained about a shifted focus toward piano away from guitar and assumed it was his influence when in fact it was Flea's song writing, having just leaned the piano for his tertiary music qualification. A lot of fans have used Josh as a scapegoat for things they were unhappy about, when he naturally did not have as much influence as the more senior members of the band. It's a shame when people are so bitter on the internet isn't it?
@@fionnagrant6636 Anthony's only child that he has full or shared custody of was born in October 2007. Flea had one daughter, Clara, born in 1988 and another one born in 2005 called Sunny Bepop. The Getaway > Unlimited Love & Return of the Dream Canteen... Josh brought a lot of freshness to this band. They fucked up coming back to the funk and Californication era.
John was a huge fan of Hillel Slovak and used to go to venues to see the band. Josh played with Bob Forrest as opening act during Californication Tour. He was 19 or 20 years old.
No sé si algún día se me dé verlo en persona y saludarlo (de lejitos porque mi inglés no es muy fluido), pero creo que es más probable que gane la lotería. That's good. They are balanced because John is completely ignorant of his existence too besides saying that I wasn't paying attention to the albums with him
Josh is the real deal. All around great musician. Felt horrible for him after the RHCPs turfed him, but he’s landed in his feet quite nicely!
