There are guys like Chris in every hobby. I might be "that guy" when it comes to FPV quadcopters. The beauty of it is that everyone gets enjoyment out of their hobby in their own way.

Thank you! The Monster is still a very different wheel, even if I were to get the Sherman I’d probably still keep my monster since it is still slightly more stable and comfortable for seated riding!
@@OWGAC i love riding the monster, but I'm an over the road truck driver and the bars look like they'd make lifting it into my truck easier compared to the handle, also the trolly handle would make shopping nicer since going to stores i can't bring my truck to is the primary reason i have the wheel. Being a large human the smaller wheels don't have the same appeal.

Chris has a high standard and that's good, not that most people wont look for flaws, but he's looking for every _potential_ flaw which can help a new company make the right choices. The fact that it has more power than you can safely test means less chance of cut out in normal conditions and now I better understand when Tishawn says people shouldn't mess with cheaper wheels, he's a pro rider and that safety margin is necessary for his skill level. To be fair, not as many people ride like you guys do so I think the lower power wheels still have a place (a newbie or kid could probably hurt themselves fairly easily on this.) but when you reach the level many of you are at it's added confidence.
I think hes also fair and reserve in his criticism and call it as is. I just think its funny after all the negativity in the end he was like "yeah, I'll buy this wheel" LOL
Good to watch again, I just watched a tiny video of the Sherman suspension wheel, it's coming!

Holy Moly. Have been watching Duf, Evx, Speedyfeet. KujiRolls and ElectricUnicycles vids and reviews for ages. The New Yorkers have a huge EUC community, wow. Fantastic seeing the enthusiasm of the Asian group poring over every detail of the wheel like forensic scientists. Chris guy is a bit grumpy, but he certainly seems to know his stuff. Fantastic vid, look forward to next ones.

Great video, as always. I would suggest using an over shoulder strap from frame to frame to carry against the hip for stairs.

Another great video Hsiang! I enjoyed it immensely. I wasn't considering the Sherman (I felt my next wheel should have suspension, even if it's not an S18 or V11), but after seeing this and Kuji's review, I'm reconsidering my life choices!
Side note: Tishawn must burn more calories riding than he would if he walked!
it may not have the latest suspension gizmos but the Sherman felt very refined, with a lot of thoughts going into even the little things (like the screw size) in some way its a safer purchase than the suspension wheels since I am still expecting some launch issues simply because we are on gen 1.
@@OWGAC That what I'm getting. I was even considering waiting for the second gen of suspension wheels. Maybe in years to come, the Sherman will be viewed like the AC (US = Shelby) Cobra of EUCs. Amazing performance and dynamics without any of the modern technologies that come between the rider and the road.

Riding an EUC is always a good time for me!!
One way to help prevent water ingress at the trolley handle would be to affix magnets at the sides, and then use a small sheet of magnetic material to completely cover the trolley handle area. Or use a 3d-printed piece with a gasket on the bottom that does the same thing.
it probably wouldn't be hard to do that, keep in mind that we agreed that it'll likely not be an issue unless you are out riding during a down pour, which is pretty unlikely unless you are truly hardcore!!

Another great video Hsiang. I like to mention something. On the day you were live streaming with Black Cobra. He read one of my comments wrong. It's the one that I said that I want the first batch of this wheel, but I can't get it. I was hoping that it won't be a problem to get the next one if I'm able to get it. You know where if there's delay, or shortage of the wheel where it's going to be a long wait, or hard to get? Supply and demand. It's a very pricey wheel, but like in one other comment I said on the stream. I'm glad the price is the same as the Monster. I swear you should be a sales rep for all the EUC companies. You won me over another wheel. Don't get me wrong I still have love for the monster, and from all that love I watched your long range test to the BBQ site like hundreds of time. Now with this new wheel I'm going to be watching this video hundreds time to till I'm able to get this awesome wheel.
I am pretty sure batch 1 is all gone by this point, with my, kuji and speedyfeet's review all 100% for this wheel I been hearing that there had been a surge of demands. Veteran aren't that big of a company so there may be a bit of a wait for them to ramp up production. I don't know exactly where they are with the orders but I do know that the demand is so high ppl are paying to air freight them in!

What i like about this wheel is the head room
If you ride it at 50% of its capacity you a riding fast and well within its capabilities.
Exactly, they also set up the beep so it max out at 70% instead of 80% like Gotway, so you have more safety margin even on the top
Very excited for the future of euc’s. It will be sherman specs and durability + s18 style suspension + Z10 looks. I got a half a chub just thinking about it.
LOL, the thing that excite me the most is that the EUC companies are finally starting to see that this is not just a fad and is willing to invest more time and resource into research, hopefully in time we'll get even more options and better wheels!!

This is a totally different wheel than the V11. the inmotion is all about convenience and comfort and this is about about balls out speed!
@@OWGAC I agree they are in totally different categories, thats why I want them both...LOL. I think I will get the V11 and then wait to see what Godzilla has to offer before picking up a big boy to replace my monster.
Will probably get the wheel, if the lockdowns end (not when, but if), I would get some soft plastic or even an acrylic tube, and create bump cover for the metal. Even wrapping it with electrical tape wouldn't be bad, as the frame does not take much banging before it's damaged. I wish they used something dent resistant or had snap-on protectors. Plastic wheels get easily banged up, but then replacement sections are fairly cheap, so to me it's not a disadvantage.
Get motorcycle frame sliders, that’s what the guys here are planning to do when they get theirs.

Thanks for the video mate. Great job. I was looking forward to seeing how the axle was bolted and secured to the case or frame. This I think has been an issue of late with other wheels and considering all the torque it would be interesting to see what they have done to secure it.
Unfortunately that aspect had not been updated, the axle and hanger connection looks pretty much the same as my monster, same size nut too

Chris is Correct! I eu around all states, cities, towns, Ninebot Z10, backwoods, dirt & water USA. Going Veteran & at those speeds is uncertain, i've seen motherboards cut out & burn up in variable conditions on that thing, shocks & safety redundancies would be highly recommended for me, that thing is for those whom most likely live local or residential or where 1 would feel confidently safe on a machine like that, being on the highways & around continuous infractions in those type of neck of woods 24/7. My eu of choice with safe, waterproof & durable redundancies & features for 2020 is the Inmotion V11, batch 2 with 34mph top speed.

I finally got my Precious (V2). And I am rewatchig this video. MSP Torque is my main wheel. So it is very different riding the Sherman.
that's an interesting pairing actually, MSP torque focusing on power on the lower end and Sherman on the upper end!

All depends on your riding style, I actually find that the S18 is plenty fast for my own use, however when I go on group rides then everyone goes faster and the sherman is very nice for that!

to me they are different, its like comparing a limo to a sports car, the monster is still slightly more stable on bad surfaces so I like that. But boy would i love to have a sherman also!!

Its pretty straight forward actually, just fishing the wire through the opening between the two compartment and connect the plugs. I thought the video was long enough as is! =D

Yeah... after the mechanic guy in your video, you, Kuji, Speedy feet and now Marty giving so much praises on this wheel, I bought mine today. How you think the adaptation leaving a z10 to this will be?
I think you’ll take to the sherman like fish to water! The z10 is a beautifully balanced wheel, and I had to adapt to the off balance top heavy feel of my monster but the Sherman felt much more like the z10. Its just much MUCH faster!
I think on 84v with same capacity this wheel will be lighter and improved.
If I am correct instead of 28 cells in series you will have 20 cells. It should have 9 rows in parallels. So you have 9x8=72 cells less which is equivalent to 4.65 kgs of you consider a 18650 cell at 65 grams. Not negligible. Wheel will weight 30.35 kgs which I think is optimal for this hell of a wheel.
I think the weight helps with the stability actually and for the most part I don’t mind it at all, I am willing to carry it up and down some stairs occasionally to trade for the longer range and more planted ride!
I am not a speedfreak...but the Sherman is calling to me.

Chris should work for something like ninebot or gotway so then they can improve on their design and potential flaws.
He talks to Jason @ Ewheel a good bit and relay his issue but I be he’ll say “work with those cheapo Chinese companies? No way!”

I think it took about 1-2 week for me to get semi comfortable, but like all sports you keep getting better the more you practice, I am learning still!
If you put neofoam Kuji pads above your ankles on this wheel dp you think its still possible to jump.with it
LOL its is definitely possible but I am terrible with jumping, so I doubt it’ll help very much!

He rode it during our open demo, keep in mind that as mentioned the ride took place on a bike path/ drive way but for the most part we still slow down whenever we see people walking especially when there are kids since they are super unpredictable. but because of the limited time everyone had with riding the wheel during the demo, he was probably pushing for higher speed just so he can get a sense of where the limit of the wheel is and to get footage, not saying its right of course. If I get to do another demo with another high speed wheel like this I'll probably find a further out but emptier spot to do it.

Im literally trying to chose should i buy the Veteran Sherman or Inmotion v11 at this point.
They are different, and bot have really compelling upsides.

I think they left gotway because they werent about that and wanted to improve upon the purest/basic structure of an euc rather than adding flair. But i could be wrong, since suspension IS kinda standard in most other vehicles.
honestly if I was veteran i'll stay away from suspension for now. what we need are improved version of other performance wheels like the monster or even the mten. Suspension is a huge hurdle to develop and way too risky for a new company that's just starting.

Im trying to keep myself from preordering it like Chris, but its not helping. He did a gread job on nit picking it. I really like how solid this wheel is. Also would like the soft mode to be like Gotway since I ride soft mode.

Is the Sherman really competing against the MSX? Or is it competing against the Monster? Honestly if the build quality of Veteran products prove to be way better than Gotway, I would honestly consider an MSX sized / weight wheel from them if they ever came out with one.
Its heavy but the rim size is the same as the msx and it rides more similar to one as well. Except it is more refine and balanced.
This wheel rides more like a Monster than an MSX. Hard to explain, since it doesn't ride like either in particular.

I believe batch one have started shipping, but unless you are early on the preorder list you’re likely have to wait till batch 2 or 3 at least!

Chris who likes to give the appearance to know about electronics he sure likes to touch the circuit board a lot with his fingers... plus hes scratching up his wheel... my patience would be a lot less.
I don't think he ever claims to be an expert, but he has been riding and taking apart wheels far longer than anyone I know. he's a weird guy but I do respect his opinion a whole lot (as much I love making fun of him!)

The wheel looks like it wobbles in the frame not secure
theres a few shot where it slightly wobbles but it stabilize almost immediately. An unbalanced wheel have the chance of propagating the wobble and make it worst but not an issue for the Sherman.
@@OWGAC I just thought I would mention it as no one wants to see you get hurt due to faulty equipment.
But I've not seen any of the other wheels do this wobble so it could be a design flaw, balanced or not and may be worth taking that little extra caution when on this wheel.
Wobbles often mean either things like adequate bracing, something loose, and like you said wheel balance but usually this is happens at a certain speed rather than when going over bumps the way this happened.
Anyway it may be worth taking that little extra care on this wheel just in case and might be worth taking the top off to inspect the frame just to be sure.
Why are there so many haters against this one wheel? Like theyre jealous or something. Every video there is someone hating.
Because its getting a lot of attention but not many people have had the chance to ride it for any significant amount of time and are basing their opinion on speculation or a 2-3 minutes demo ride.
