    This precious baby is my grandson. This was definitely one of the difficult journeys of my life. The one thing I hope all birthmothers take from this video is that this is a very difficult time for both you and the adoptive parents. The adoptive parents are dreaming and planning for this child as if it were their own. They are creating nurseries and picking out names for their child. They are doing all the things a pregnant couple would do. When you the birthmother changes her mind it is as if they just suffered the death of their child. Each time a birthmother changes her mind the adoptive parents lose a piece of their hearts. A wall slowly goes up to protect themselves from the next lose. . So please if you are considering adoption do not make this zdecision to quickly think it though completely before involving adopting parents. You by all means have the right to change your mind but maybe if you think about what it means for the adopting parents you may just think a little bit longer about how your decision affects others and their extended families. Then make the right decision for you and your baby.

    • @blondego56
      @blondego56 6 лет назад +32

      Don't you dare compare a birth mother deciding to keep her own baby instead of adoptive parents getting her child to a death I've had a child died there is nothing on the face of this planet that can compare to that how dare you even say that

      Also, it's inappropriate for her to try to advise Mothers considering adoption. Their decision is theirs alone...nobody can or should influence it. If a Mother decides she can manage to keep her baby then that is the best and most hopeful outcome and should be celebrated. Of course it's painful for the hopeful adoptive parents but I think the USA system is flawed.

    • @briannachristopher874
      @briannachristopher874 5 лет назад

      Crazy Katie this “false hope” is nothing compared to what the mother is feeling. I briefly considered adoption of my first child but when I saw my son on the ultrasound , I was willing to give my life and fight for my baby. I changed my life around for my son. The fact that I even considered adoption kind of makes me uncomfortable... and makes me giving birth just that much more stressful..

    Heather, thank you for showing your journey. My husband and I are working with Angel Adoption right now as well. We're still in the early stages and haven't even gotten our profile finished, but I expect the journey to be pretty long and difficult. Your story brings it to a better perspective. I'm sure not all journeys have had the same ups and downs as you and your husband experienced, but thank you for being strong enough to press on. I'm sure you had some journeys prior to choosing adoption, as I have gone through medical treatments in my pursuit of experiencing motherhood. We unfortunately are unable to have children. So we wanted to give a baby a home with the next step adopting a sibling around the same age if we still couldn't have our own. Sorry to ramble, but thank you again. Bless you, your husband, the birth mother, and your baby boy.

    Thank you for this. My heart kept getting broken over & over while watching this, because I was so upset for you two. But, in the end, it was all worth it! Thank you for showing me hope! Hope that maybe one day my fiancé & I will get our bundle of joy. June 2013 I miscarried for the first time. Then became pregnant again October 2013. Everything was going smoothly! We found out we were gonna have a boy! :) Then, when I was 7 months, I ended up giving birth to our son, he was a stillborn. :'( it has now been over 2 years since this happened, & I can't seem to pull myself out of the darkness I'm in. But, your video has helped me, even just a little! So, thank you! God bless you & your new family!

      Samantha I am so so sorry for your pain. No one deserves the pain of loosing a child. The video only showed our adoption pain not what came before. I am a cancer survivor that struggled with infertility, misscarage, and failed IVF. Although I have never had to give birth and feel Loss my heart aces for you. Although this video was hard to relive and share I felt lead to share for both education on adoption as well as for lifting up others. I can't tell you when your little miracle will happen but I can tell you that each painful process prepared me for the next painful process. I got stronger and then was ready for what God had planed for our family. Have hope in those dark times find that little spark it's there, as hard as it may be. I will pray for your journey to parenthood. God Bless

    OMG. The disappointments time and time again, I couldn't imagine. God has given you both His grace to push forward. You two passed the test. He wanted to see how bad and how much the two of you were willing to fight for it, like David rustling with the angel all night long and didn't let go till the break of dawn. You two never let go. You never waivered. And know you have God's blessing in a bundle of joy. It wasn't what you were expecting but what God gives us is ALWAYS better than anything we could ever pick/imagine for ourselves. Lovely story. More updates, please.

    It was truly unselfish and amazing of you to love that baby girl and still be a part of her life. It takes a village, and she's better for having you in her life in whatever form that takes. We live in a society that really only sees the pain of the birth parents and the adoptive parents, but no one ever reflects on or sympathizes, or even believes that the biggest pain is that of the adoptee. The loss they go through is monumental. There is nothing quite like being left, and the abandonment is real. And though they can have a happy life, there are wounds there that no one knows of. So please, as an adoptive parent, recognize that adoption is/will be so hard for your child. He will love and thank you for it later.

    Your story reminds me of the song God bless the broken road.
    "Every long lost dream lead me to where you are, others who broke my heart they were like northern starts pointing me on my way into your loving arms..."🎶❤️ I'm so happy you finally got the baby that was meant for you all these years😍❤️ God bless your beautiful family.

    What stood out to me most is the graciousness with which both you and the baby's birth mother decided to keep in her life. The birth mother wasn't jealous to let you in, and you all were kind and loving and giving enough to not cast your disappointment or anger toward her. What love can do when follow God's plans! You are wonderful. And your son is incredibly beautiful.

    Heather,
    As a birthmom of a 3 year old beauty, I cannot imagine the pain you and your sweet husband felt each time an expectant mom chose to parent. I'm so sorry. Heavenly Father has a crazy cool way of constructing our lives to be where they need to be. Congratulations on your sweet sweet boy.

    Your story touched me, because it is so similar to mine. My husband and I have been married for eight years & in that eight years we have had three miscarriages & five possibilities of adoptions, where the birth moms decided to keep and love their children. One mom that decided to have a late abortion, because she didn’t want to go through the pain of labor only to give the child up. Through years of hope & grieving we have decided to start the process of fostering a child and see where that journey will take us. I am so happy to see your story & that there is always hope.

    I have seen your profile on the adoption website and the recent adoptions and always thought your son was one of the cutest. my husband and I have been with the agency since Dec and just are excited, anxious and everything else parents feel before connecting with a birthmother. thank you for sharing. it helps so much.

      Exited for you both to become parents. My prayer is your journey isn't as painful or long as our, but I know it will be as joyful! Stay focused and strong this process is a journey worth traveling.

    What an amazing story and love you and your husband have to give. It's so sad for the other parents to give you hope and snatch it away from so quickly. I am currently pregnant but could not imagine handing her over. I know every mothers situation is different but I live in a family of infertility. I have seen my family members go through the Same thing and some of those mothers never intended on handing over their babies. A family member of mine adopted a little boy from Connecticut and had him for 2 months and his mother changed her mind and wanted him back. It was devastating to see the adoption agency just come and take him away. And all she could do was watch and cry. I wish you and your family nothing but happiness and many more babies !

      What an amazing gift you are giving this couple, it takes so much strangle to form an adoption plan. Two of the mothers I still talk to and keep in touch with how their babies are doing. Adoption isn't the best choice for everyone. With each match our hearts attached and when it fell through they took a piece of it. My prayer is that you will have peace with your decision and be open to the blessings it will bring to both of your lives.
