17 Mile Drive and Pebble Beach took my breathe away when I visited in the mid 90s. This is the beauty of California and why people want to visit and live here.
I was also there in the early 80's. We did get out and wander around the pebble beach clubhouse. What I remember most are the ginormous hanging baskets of fuschias they had hanging everywhere. Really pretty.
Wow when we were in CA for business, the wife and I went down that way & took that same drive. I have some really nice pics of the area. Got a ton of pics at seal rock. We spent the rest of the day in Monterey. Then back to San Jose where we were staying for business. Brings back memories....LOL
We lived on the San Francisco Peninsula south of San Francisco for 40 years. We visited Monterey and Carmel many, many times. Even rode the The 17 Mile Drive on a bicycle severa l times. Have lots of memories of that part of California.
Great seeing the 17-mile drive again. Been a longgg time since I was there. I had lunch at the the Pepple Beach golf club and remember being snubbed by the crowd. lol. It's a free country and open to the public, so take that folks! :)
Roy’s - one of our favorite restaurants for special occasions can be found along the 17-Mile drive 👍🏼. It’s a beautiful place; thank you for taking us along.
Small correction, the golf course near Point Joe is the Monterey Peninsula Country Club Dune's Course. The mansion you passed is currently for sale for $37 million with ocean frontage. Spectacular!
Wow, another great video. Love those seals! Looking forward to your future videos but must admit sad to hear that we won't be seeing the ocean views for awhile now. Sigh. So beautiful! Hey, Russ -- did you experience any of that smoke, etc., from those wildfires down by LA that are making the news today? Just wondering.
Russ, we used take newly certified SCUBA divers, for their open water dive. Normally the last dive before they become a fully certified SCUBA divers. We used to dive in Stillwater Cove. There are so many golf balls there. The salt water makes the golf balls pretty much no good. The water there is very clear, although Monterey bay is pretty much right in the middle of "Red Triangle" an area where lots of great white sharks have been known to hangout. I got certified in 1988. I have never come across one. Sorry this got to be so long. I guess my point is, it is just as beautiful under the water as it is on the shore. I have so many questions. I will ask them slowly. Thank you Russ! Billie
Last time I was down there was the '72 US Open. Stayed with friends in Carmel. The only time I heard my uncle cuss was when I asked him if he could afford a house on Pebble and he said, F no. haha Russ, you should buy a lot in Carmel and make it an rv park.
Hi Russ, enjoy your videos. One comment on 17 Mile Drive. You did not show the Lone Cypress. One of the most photographed trees in the world. Keep up the videos, and thanks for sharing.
The ocean looks and sounds SOOOOOOO awesome. I really want to live there!!!! 😊 That was cool with all those seals on that island!!! 17 mile drive looks like it would be a fun adventure to take. Super Awesome video Russ. Thank you for the tour!
I love the 17 mile drive. I have driven it several times over the years. Thanks for the videos. Scoobs looks so good in the Red SUV, their is just something about blonds in red cars that is very appealing. ;) It would be nice too be there today, it is 100 degrees at my house today. Take care drive safe, the adventure continues.
I love it there. We just took that drive a few months ago and iam ready to go back to that cool weather. Did you happen to see any of the big fire going on over there between Carmel and Monterey? I hear it is bad. Thanks for the video.
It's not that much prettier than the Jersey shore but it's more expensive to live there. I lived in CA for 15 years and have been all over it. It's not a good place to live anymore and people are moving out of CA now.
I'm sorry Russ, but, I just can't justify spending $10 to drive on a road where RICH people live and play golf at their FANCY resorts!!! I DON'T and WON'T hobnob with those sorts of people!! My Aunt is that way and it just makes me sick how she acts!! 😣😯😦😝😖

Those seals were all ready for their closeup Mr DeMille. The word got out...hey guys, RVerTV is here!
yes but there was smething very "Fishy" about that crowd
Yea!!
That was great! I always wondered what the 17 Mile drive was all about. We drove by it several times. Did you have the trailer on the back?
no way no trailer its a very narrow road
I love it there. We just took that drive a few months ago and iam ready to go back to that cool weather. Did you happen to see any of the big fire going on over there between Carmel and Monterey? I hear it is bad. Thanks for the video.
yes i couls see the smoke and plane fighting the fires from salinas
Won't be long now until all the houses burn to the ground there too. CA is a rotten place to live these days.
That was 'Bird Poop Rock'. It's white from all the bird poop.
Just did the 17 mile last week and the entrance fee is now $11.25.
nice video
thanks

It doesn't look that nice. I'm driving up to wine country from LA. I think I'll skip this. There are better spots for free.
