    I put the freedom shield 7 inch medium tint touring width on my 2020 Streetglide special I’m 5’9” and it’s perfect plus it diverts wind over my stereo speakers which I now hear my speakers much better at highway speeds

      I love the Freedom Shield. I might get a taller one for long trips but probably a clear one that I could see the road through. Stay safe out there.

    I'm 5'6" and had 7" on my 2016 ultra limited low. Zero wind bluffing on a trip to Reno from Seattle with a speed range between 65-90 when there is open road. Guaranteed you won't regret it, best money spent. Sold the bike but kept shield still.

      The shield is great. A bigger one would have blocked more wind but I didn't want to change the look of the bike too much. I also probably would have gone with a lighter tint if I had gone taller. It would start to block more of my view of the road. Thanks for the comment! Can't wait for the weather to warm up a bit... and the snow to be gone.

    I just put a 13 inch on my SGS and it's like looking out the picture window of my living room, looks like I'll go down to a 7 inch... great video BTW.

    If you are still having issues with the wind coming up from the bottom, you can get the vents from a HD dealer that mount on your fairing. They seamed to reduce that up-wind when I put 'em on my street glide.

      I have looked at those. That might be the way to go. Thanks for the comment!

    I might be one of the few, but I like the angle you're at with the gopro. Nice review. Thinking of changing out the windshield and adding a rider backrest to my Road Glide myself. Thanks for the review!

      +Len Frame Thanks Len! Yeah it's not as bad as I thought it was going to be. The wide angle lens shows a lot more than just the dash. The rider backrest is a great addition.

    7” on my ‘16 SG, I’m 5’9” and have the hammock seat. It works perfect for me

    I know I need to get a taller windshield...but this short 1 looks soooooo cool! Maybe the 7" can be my compromise. Thanks for the review.

    Thanks for sharing this with us. So correct me if I’m wrong, the highest shield you can get the less buffering?

    Might help if you got taller bars and leaned back to a more comfy riding position also.

    Audio has a lot of crackling and static. Not good. The vent in fairing is designed to always be open to help equalize the air pressure. I never shut mine.

    You think the 8 inch would be worth returning it back? I have the 7 inch the wind still hits the top of my head. If I go any taller then an 8 I will have to get a clear one.

      Hey Noel. I think it comes down to personal preference. I'm 6 feet tall and the wind still hits the top of my head too. It's better than the stock shield but I wouldn't want it any higher. If I was to go higher I would be looking right at the top of it and that would probably bother me. At that point I might just go up to 12 inch and go clear but that would definitely change the look of the bike for me. Not a look I am going for but would probably stop a lot more wind.
      Ride safe.

    I’m 5’8” tall...
    Do you think a 7” freedom shield would work for me or be too tall..?

    • @WheeltoReel
      @WheeltoReel  5 лет назад

      I'm about 6 feet tall and I wouldn't go any taller with a tinted screen. If you get a clear one it would probably work but I would think you would be looking through part of it at times. I haven't checked the website lately. They might have a light tint one that could work for you. Good luck!

    I'm 5-06 with a 28 to 29 inseam. Would a 7inch shield be good? I wanna c over it

    • @WheeltoReel
      @WheeltoReel  6 лет назад

      Hey Paul. I can't say for sure but I'm just under 6 feet tall and probably wouldn't want to go any taller than the 7". In my opinion you could be looking right at or through the top of it. Freedom Shields has a great exchange policy so you could always test it. Ride safe.

      Mine would be going on a road glide. So the 7inch would be stretching up the fairing. So like just around 6 inches would be above the front end fairing into my eyeline. At least I think. I know their 10 inch really measures just under 9 inches above the fairing line

      I tried using a piece of cardboard from a cereal box taped to the stock shield. It helped me figure out how much higher the new shield would be. The stock Street Glide shield is 5" so I just added 2" to it. I'm not sure what the stock shield height of the Road Glide is but if you use the cardboard you will have an idea of how high your new one would be and whether or not you can see over it. Good luck. I still get wind coming over the shield and up from the ground but it's a balance. I don't want to change the lines of the bike too much. The Road Glide fairing might offer more protection. You won't be disappointed with the quality of the Freedom Shield.

      I use to have a 2013 SG. And I could see couple inches above the stock windshield. Right now my RG has a tall touring shield on it I look through. I measured 7inches up from the center bottom of my shield and marked it off with a piece of scotch tape. Seemed to be at the level that would work for me.

    You can't really test it with the plastic still on :-)
