Yes I agree Set Dancing is meant to be free flowing and expressing individual flair and appreciation of the particular Set Dance and we can all do this at house dances & at Ceili's but when you enter All Ireland competition or any competition then you have to be exact!!. Otherwise how could you adjudicate one team from the other. I think competition improves and innovates existing sets sets.

Competition is leading to the demise of set dancing as a Regional and individual art! It's not meant to be synchronized (the way that step dancing has gone), but rather, the individual talent and flair should be emphasized... Sad, because these INDIVIDUALS are obviously quite talented, but.... Constrained by regimentation.
