    Mine is merida matts sub 60..i bought it in year 2010..until now i still used it..still not upgraded..the rd and fd xt deore m771 is still working perfectly fine.

    I recommend Merida qualify.
    My granspeed is made of aluminum, but even by several fall down for one year, there are no cracks still now.

    I just bought a scultura 6000 from a retailer and had them change the derailleur to accommodate a bigger cassette, in the process the paint on where the deraileur goes on the paint came off so easily now its just a black chunk out of it .. pretty bummed about it.

      paint on contact points always fell off due to the assembly pressure, occurs on all frames. its normal. after all the screws and bolts you cant see those areas anyways

    taiwan and china is two different country. taiwan is the best. they also make 90% of world electronic components.

      Taiwan* and China are* two different countries*. And your 90 % estimation is far off. Because that would leave only 10 % of the world's electronic components to be made in China, Japan, South Korea. These are only three of many countries producing electronics and are all way bigger than Taiwan.

    As far as i knew, MERIDA Carbon bike frames manufactured on "Topkey" subsidiary factory "Xiamen Keentech Composite Technology" , located in Jimei District, Xiamen, Fujian.

      @@thekenthouse6428 as far as i knew merida sell only complete bikes. So, if you don't know margin, you can tell price of frame itself, but merida mostly budget friendly manufacture. And perhaps, it in reverse, winspace is owerpriced merida.
      Also, you can get cheaper topkey framem from other less hiped manufatcerer. So i highly dobut "walue"of winspace

    I love Merida bikes and they are all really excellent. However, most of the models in their website/local distributor here in my country are out of stock or always not available. I cannot buy what I want. I wish Merida would produce more .

    I thought it was all made of a whole carbon I found out just a coat to the aluminum frame. I'm really thinking of a solid one of composite.

    Merida is a european brand.. it is produced in germany but but it is assembled in Taiwan due to lower labor fee..

      It is NOT produced in Germany, but exclusively in Taiwan and some lower-tier frames in China. Merida is from Taiwan, Germany was their biggest market in the beginning and their German distributor owns a part of the company. That's why their design department is located in Germany.

    400 individual carbon fiber pieces which have to laid down in precise locations - by hand. I don't see anywhere that variability could enter this mfg system.

    Holy, the manufacturing guys do not wear gloves to lay up of the prepreg, this is kind of bad. First for the worker, cause epoxy is more or less toxic, seconde for the material properties.. I would stay with an alluminium fram ^^

      No. Merida once saved Specialized whose frames they were producing, from going bankrupt by buying a 49 % share. Mike Sinyard, owner of Specialized, was allowed to keep 51 % and the exclusive rights for the North American market. That's why Merida is sold outside the US and Canada only.

      Merida is a Taiwan based company. They are the second-largest maker of bikes in the world after Giant and produce frames for dozens of brands. Their German distributor has a share in the company, that's why Merida's design center is based in Germany. Nobody has better knowledge and experience about making bicycle frames from carbon than Taiwan.

    Mucho cuidado con abquirir una bicicleta MÉRIDA. Te dicen q su cuadro está garantìado de por vida.
    Y no es cierto. Te ponen trabas y peros y después de varios meses te dicen q no te pueden ayudar y te dejan co tu problemita.
    Q por cierto no es nada económico comprarla.
    Mucho ojo no se dejen engañar.

    You going to bother compensating owners of Merida Scultura Disc 400 Bikes that you cant supply replacement forks for until late October? - What a fucking JOKE. I own 3 Merida Bikes, I will never buy another one ever again. Havent been able to ride since late June.
