It’s such a shame how Nephrite, the most potential filled character in the series was completely ignored in Future! To think they actually have captain gems in the series, but nope! They wanted to focus on the crystal gems, and Steven’s breakdowns!

I'm glad someone said it! Everything we didn't see in the original series, the movie, games, or books! Give Steven his break and shift the POV to the gems either Crystal or Homeworld aligned, it'd be so interesting to see what happened during and pre-war. However a few questions still stand, who created White since she's the progenitor of gem kind? Do gems have any competition in the galaxy in terms of domain expansion? (seeing as to how their ships have weaponry) And next, what's going on with Steven out of the picture?

But I’m so surprised you put Lapis and the gems in here. That was an extra nice touch.
Lapis was already in the mirror during the last battle, so she shouldn't be present in this video, except as being trapped in the mirror.

The reason why the Steven Universe Future series was cut short was because of insufficient funds after they planned Garnet's wedding. Apparently, a bunch of countries despised the idea of having 2 gems of the same gender get married. After the wedding episode, they funded a movie for Steven Universe, and from there, she asked for a few more episodes to talk about the diamond days, but since she ran out of funds, they ended up rushing the series short and thus canceling the show. blame the 200+ homophobic countries who stopped their funding for 1 small thing. Rebecca risked the show because it was her dream to finally work on the wedding, and if they didn't get the wedding, she would leave the show and cancel it without ending it properly. She even mentioned that she has drawings of Ruby and Sapphire making out that she won't show because of the public feud.

OMG besides a flawless execution of the animation in this entire clip, there are tons of details that worth be reckon with
1.- Dialogues, I've never seen actual dialogues in any of these kind of fanmade videos, it was a NEAT addition
2.- Arrangement of MANY canon events, Hessonite's role in the war (Save the Light game), Lapis's unrecognition and imprisonment, Nephrite's crew look (as seen in Future), dialogue consistency with the series (Legs from here to Homeworld)
3.- Characters, many characters are seen here, besides the already mentioned, we have Snowflake Obsidian, Topazes, Amethysts, Jaspers, Rubies, Aquamarines, the gear-dress gems of the ball and the Jades (by looking at her dress-style). We EVEN have a look at some later-on corrupted gems that we never saw healed, the Desert Glass, the Slinker, and a blue one I just couldn't recognize (but I bet has a resemblance on the series since you wouldn't just invent a character out of nowhere)

I love how you included Lapis’ story during all this, as well as other corrupted gems, plus Hessonite as well. This is all very canon compliant, and it looks like it could have been an episode. The movements were smooth, the voice acting was amazing, and- AAAA I love this a lot!

they should've hired you while the show was stil running, this is the exact same style of animation. Like you just made 1/4 of an episode long clip that looks exactly like something that would take an entire team, they could put you in any position there and you would be able to do it just fine. if you continue lke this you are going to get hired somewhere 100%, keep up the amazing work!
Except the composition is 10× better than in the original show too! It's not all just flat scenes and side-angle-side shots - they did SO much more with the camera and you can ready notice how much more dynamic the shots feel!
@@nzuckman too be honest , if this youtuber ever gets to work on their own cartoon or worked on SU even when the show was aired, that would still happen. The SU crew had to deal with budget cost and saving on animation all of the time unless it was rare and they had geust animators, like from studio trigger
@@exchangediary968 I'm sorry but having a low budget doesn't mean your composition has to be a boring compilation of side-angle-side shots - this video is living proof of that. It's not that hard to play with the camera a *little*, and the crewniverse did basically nothing with it. Budgetary constraints don't absolve them from legitimate criticism.

When you animate for a show for tv/online and getting paid for it, you don't get the same freedom , trust me knowing people who work in the intrustity its not as easy as you may think, if you dont believe me just look up some of the animators working on several shows like SU and then look up their own animation portfoio (stuff they did in their own free time) Rugar's animation stuff is like night and day compared to Steven Universe
@Death Is here I read the artbook and interviews of people working on Steven Univese and the show was constantly being put down and put on pressure for 2 reasons
1: the Glbt content in the show, the Sapphire and Ruby wedding was the final straw for some of the excutes in CN and they clashed the budget and time-episodes of the crew, which resulted into a rush ending for the first era and a way shorter season for Future. After the gay wedding episode the show was banned in several places and countries due to homophobia which sadly made CN take out their frustrations on the show
2: CN was never rest-assured with SU , the crew would often find out they had less episodes to do this x and b when it was the last minite, while the show was succesful the upper mangement team didn't care because they couldn't profit from the show trough merch. (they believed the fans wouldn't buy toys and merch of the show, which is pretty silly consider how some of SU only merch that came out are seeked after)
Funny you mention it because season 1 was my least favorite season lmao i thought it got better as seasons passed and im used to off-model from shows unless its the Simpsons and Family Guy who just re-use several models for every episode

Nephrite wasnt meant the die but left like the other gems since the crystal gems were too powerful. But pink is not with them since all those stuff. This is incredibly well done! And I loved how you included every aspect of that very moment, nephrites story, the diamonds hands, rose shielding the crystal gems, lapis' mirror being dropped and her gem broken, and even nephrite saying her last words, the words she repeated when she got healed by yellow and blue. seeing it all together was very satisfying
I love how you tied up all the loose ends during this. Nephrite, her crew Lapis story the crystal gems and the shield , hessonite and the diamonds. You even added some corrupted gems from the art book like moonstone , the slinker, the desert glass gem and snowflake obsidian

That was incredible, it was heart wrenching enough to hear Nephrite share the memory with Steven but this, this is just perfect. I also loved how you tied in Lapis and the gems in the video too. It was done so well and so fluid; we really get a good grasp of time in your video and just how quickly things really did happen. I love it!
It's probably never going to happen but I would have loved if there was a small series that showed everything from the earliest time where the Diamonds were created, to Pink diamond's arrival on earth, the rebellion, the war and ending with something like this. The final moments before the diamonds attack. Yes, it's good that we got to see a lot of flashbacks along with shared stories (interpretations) but it really would have been something to have seen everything play out, and to see more of home world around that time too. It was a very different place back then, and I feel that we didn't really even explore it too much in the main series when finally allowed to see it.
Anyway, this really is an incredible animation and I'm so grateful to have stumbled upon it!

I'm crying over this, I know Nephrite gets better but she's so scared and I feel for her.
This was so sad because I realized that, in the episode where yellow and blue tried to heal her she said "no please no, we're all gonna be"
When yellow tried to heal her, she was very aggressive and looked like she was fighting someone.
And when blue tried to heal her, she kept crying and crying and saying "no please no, we're all gonna be".
And because this is the saddest moment of her entire existance, that's why she's saying those exact words from the past because the sad feeling is too strong.
When yellow tried to heal her, she made weird corrupted noises lmao- she never looked like she fought anybody

Amazing animation! I always liked the war backstory in the show but felt it was very underused. Great to see them animated in the show's regular style like this. Love the part when the Diamonds show up in this vid!

Ahora hablando del video, lo incluiste todo: La desesperación y pánico de Nefrita antes del ataque final, su rol de capitana, las batallas en la guerra, Hesonita, el encierro de Lapis y el esfuerzo de Rose por protegerse a ella, Garnet y Perla del ataque de las Diamantes (Que por cierto ahora que lo veo así de bien detallado dan ganas de darles su merecido u algo así a las Diamantes... Psta: Nunca entenderé por qué Nefrita no apareció en ningún episodio de Future :'( Su historia es "genial" (En comillas porque también es triste), es amiga de Steven (Y lo siguen siendo, gracias dibujo en la refri de Steven :') ) y... ella pudo haberlo ayudado en su estado de monstruo (Devolverle el favor, el momento que más esperaba en Future), además que aún no vimos mucho de Nefrita en sí, más la vimos como "Centi, la gema alegrona, inocente, etc." pero yo más esperaba ver a "Nefrita, la gema capitana y strongminded" aunque sea en un epi (Estoy segura que su personalidad cambió un poco, recordemos que estuvo del lado del Planeta Madre y la ubicación de su gema, no digo que no tenga ese lado alegre, sólo talvez lo tenga oculto...).

2:02 That scene is powerful. The diamond sound so majestic and beautiful. But every Gem was expecting to be destroyed. Also if Gems can only die by shattering or by Yellow's comment, "Nothing should have survived our attack". What was supposed to happen then whenever the Diamonds blasted the planet?
I have a feeling,instead if all gems being shattered,it wouldve been having your gem,but never being able to be a physical form again
@@m0istl0la97 no. Because Pink Diamond is missing, the attack isn't at full power. The light attack is the combined powers of the diamonds. White's ability to overpower minds, Yellow's ability to manipulate and disrupt a gem's physical form and Blue's ability to overwrite gem emotions combined in the light attack results in the corrupted gems. If Pink's destructive powers were combined with all the other diamonds' powers in the light, then the light would actually obliterate gems.
@@boymancinder2000 i doubt it, as the person above said i think their attack combined with Pink would just make every gem normal gems, destroying their light bodies forever
