That’s fantastic, @kaleimaile! 🎹 The Yamaha NU1XA is a brilliant hybrid piano-it combines the feel of a real acoustic upright with the versatility of digital technology. I’m so glad you got to try it out and enjoyed the experience! If you have any questions about it or hybrid pianos in general, feel free to ask. 😊
@@kaleimaile Great question! 🎹 While many Yamaha pianos may share the same sound samples across certain ranges, there are key differences that can really shape your playing experience. These samples can often be tweaked to your liking, but one of the biggest factors to consider is the speaker configuration in the cabinets. This has a huge impact on how the sound washes over you as a player, influencing the dynamic range and how much you can express yourself. The key mechanism also plays a vital role-don’t overlook how the feel of the keys connects to your playing style. For me, the hybrid upright I’m using in this video feels like home because an upright matches my natural playing style. But for you, it might be a grand piano that feels just right-perhaps it’s the sound of a Yamaha, a Bösendorfer, or even an old grand piano you played at your grandparents' house. It’s such a personal choice, and I’d encourage you to visit stores and try as many as you can to find the one that resonates with your personality, spirit, and soul. Another fantastic feature worth exploring is Yamaha’s binaural sampling technology, especially if you often play with headphones on. If you’ve got close neighbours or prefer quiet practice sessions, this technology makes a huge difference. It creates the sensation that you’re sitting right at the face of a piano, rather than just having sound pumped directly into your ears. It’s an incredible piece of technology, and if you get the chance to try it out, I highly recommend it. Ultimately, it’s all about finding an instrument of expression that feels right for you and helps soothe your soul. Happy piano hunting! 🎶✨
@ . Thanks for that long answer. Yamaha is my favorite company for pianos. I have the portable one at home - the p-125a and I bought 3.5” speakers, which helps with the volume. I didn’t play in the recital on Friday, but asked the worker if I could try the Bosendorfor that the students got to play on, which was nice, but not worth the 156k. I talked to the worker about diminishing returns on the piano, too. Lol!
How does it compare to the NU1X? That's what I have now and I cannot sing it's praises enough. I doubt I'll ever be good enough to get the full potential out of it, but it's an absolutely amazing instrument and sounds fantastic through speakers or headphones. I really do wish I had more time to dedicate to sitting at it practicing. It's mind blowing that Yamaha could improve on an already excellent instrument

I went to a piano recital tonight and after the recital, I talked to the worker & he told me about this piano. I got to play on it and it felt good.

@ , thanks. How do you choose what Yamaha to buy when they sound similar? Lol!

It’s the Pinocchio digital piano that dreamed of becoming a real piano!
Cool!
Pretty!
