    Just snagged one. Improved beaver tail noticeably enhances the purchase grip. Zero mag release issues with the 2 included mags and my Mete SFX & TP9SC Elite clips. Trigger might even feel better than my SFX.

      @vulture8878 День назад +1

      Yeah I noticed the larger beaver tail on the new pistols as well. This fact has not been noted or commented on in all the videos that I have watched about the new Caniks.

    Full mag is 17 + 1 = 18 not 19. That is why it is shorter than the 18 round mags
    Good video - Thanks

    This one is definitely on my list to try out, but the mention of the MC9LS is really exciting! That one might be in the Goldilocks zone.

    I carry the MC9, with the 15 round full baseplate mags, and rival 90° trigger.
    Two more rounds would be nice, but 15 is fine by me.
    Great review guys, thanks!

    The thing I like the most about the original MC9 is with the flush Clip it’s really concealable and with the 15 rounder it feels like a full size

    If this one doesn't have the issues that first mc9 had, I might seriously shave to consider it. I love Canik and their triggers.

      We have two of the originals and no issues with either. The first one was sent by Canik, the second we bought months later

    • @Sirgromulus
      @Sirgromulus День назад +1

      Seems like those who have had issues had them start somewhere between 600 and 800 rounds. That's a lot of ammo and $ to assure reliability.

      @@GBGuns I waited to buy my MC9 until the end of May this year due to all the issues reported on Canik group on Reddit. There are videos too from smaller channels on RUclips that show some of the issues. I finally bought mine because a local store had it for the same price as lowest priced sellers on Gun(dot)Deals. This allowed me to inspect the firearm before purchase to make sure the mags dropped free and that the feed ramp on the barrel was machined properly. I could see the end of the recoil spring was already sticking out so assumed it would wrap over the next coil after some use. I shot 10 rounds of 11 differ ammo SKUs at my first range trip with no malfunctions but the spring did move over of the next loop. Canik sent me a new recoil assembly and I cut off the end of the original spring. My MC9 has a manufacturing date on the case of January 2024. Others replied to me stating their MC9 built in say May or June of this year also had issues. Based on fewer postings on issues on Reddit I think a much higher percentage of MC9s produced this year have been problem free. But some had who had issues are soured on every buying another Canik. Canik also had a magazine over insertion issue on the Rival-S and I still read reports of issues with the TTI. Some had issues that we fixed or partially fixed by changing or cutting other springs. Some claimed there was too much force exerted by their ejector spring. Other mentioned replacing the striker spring.

    • @GBGuns
      @GBGuns  День назад

      @raykettel1837 I take any claim on the internet with again of salt as we do not know the user's knowledge or understanding of firearms. For example there is no ejector spring. Someone else once asked about "replacing the ejector spring"

    • @Sirgromulus
      @Sirgromulus День назад +1

      @GBGuns Perhaps, but some trustworthy sources have reported issues. Check out Nightwood Guns. I trust his knowledge and experience. At least he tests for hundreds of rounds and not just an initial review. Now his experience is just one data point but if you read the forums for any length of time, certain trends do seem evident. Of course the MC is a new model and it may be growing pains. I remember all the issues with thec
      P365 when first released but now, several years later, you rarely hear of any.

    It's surprising when I shoot the Shield Plus 3.1" on how low recoil and accurate it is, probably because of its excellent trigger and 3 dot metal white dot sights. From watching videos, the Shield Plus is very, very hard to beat unless you put a red dot on it. Then expect carbon fouling of the dot window and stovepipe mals from the empties bouncing off the dot back into the chamber, but fantastic with irons. Wish I had ordered the Shield plus with a safety for pocket carry but I have a P365 with a manual safety for that and it is smaller for an easier draw from the pocket.

    This pistol was perfect for your wife. Seems that you struggled with it. Fun video. I would like to see her shoot the Shield Plus PC CC and see what she thinks on it with the 10 round mag. Also revisit the original sized P365 with the 10 round. I think the trigger made the difference for her.

      Teya doesn't like the Shields and so declined the Shield Plus. I'm not a fan either, but reviewed it because it was requested.

    I mean I bought 124 grain that wasn’t labeled as NATO spec and was surprised when it was a little spicier than normal. Thankfully it was a normal gun so it was immediately obvious to me that it was ammo.
    Sad thing is I was competing with a buddy that day who was using 115 grain fiocchi and we were going for speed. RIP

    I get a full grip on my Glock 43X mos but it's not comfortable for me to carry. I get almost full grip on my P365X and It is comfortable to carry and I can shoot it just as good as my 43x mos.. So I guess it depends on the person.

    You said the heaviest you were testing was RUAG (Norma) 154 gr. Did I hear you correctly? Ammoseek does not give an option for 154 gr 9mm ammo from any brand. How old is that ammo?
    Beretta Holdings announced the completion of their acquisition of RUAG Ammotec on 8/12/2022. They only purchase the RUAG Ammotec from RUAG International and not all of RUAG. They have ammo factories in the USA, Switzerland, Hungry and some other countries. Some claim some of the ammo is likely loaded to NATO specs. I am not sure why a 154 gr ammo listed as subsonic would be loaded hot though. If you have other 9mm, 5.56, or 308 ammo that was made from say 2021 through 2022 or so make sure it was not part of their 3 or 4 safety recalls.

    • @GBGuns
      @GBGuns  День назад

      Yes this is 154gr RUAG. I believe it's now repackaged as Norma 154gr and is sold only direct to co sumer in the US
