It's nice to know that Saint Nicholas was real. In a way I feel like my faith I had as a child has finally paid off. But I'm also sad that he doesn't do all the things I thought he did.

We In the Nordic countries have never celebrated Christmas and St nicholaus. Lerned this when i got older... our name for Christmas is Jul and his name is Julefar, julgubbe and stems from the name Julnir which is another name for Oden. Even though we are Christians we celebrate the hednic version of it :)
Huh, "Julefar" is that the Norwegian name for him? In Sweden we call him "Jultomten" - Which essentially means "the Jule Gnome". We had this belief in yard gnomes (like in the series "David the gnome") that we superimposed on Santa. It seems its a long mishmash of myths come together. Though, to be fair for a long period it was "Julbocken" that handed out presents (the Jule Goatbuck), all the way until the 1880s. Then a Swedish poet (Viktor Rydberg) wrote some lines probably affected by the American traditions in the late 1870s and we jumped on the "Santa Claus" bandwagon. His name might be different, but for all intents and purposes it is the same character we are referring to.

I no longer believe in the stereotypical image of Santa, however, unlike most people I know, I do believe there is a supernatural order to the universe, so I just believe that Santa is basically the spirit of the real St. Nicholas and he just makes his Prescence known within us on Christmas Day when we give gifts.
I feel like this is incorrect, in Austria and Germany there is the two version of Santa Claus the good and the bad, that the one brings toys to the good kids and the bad kids get a visit from the bad one, it’s a tradition they have and it was used way before those two gentlemen did all that

So I'm just going to clarify to all those confused by this video. Santa Claus was I fact a real human person who gave presents to those who where poor and couldn't afford toys and such. He looked like an elf person (as they explain in the video) but he died and it carried on a tradition for the people who didn't believe in Christ, coke brand changed his look to the Santa we all know today. Actually Santa Claus is a combination of St. Nicolas (who was an actual person), Odin’s mythology, and various incarnations of Father Christmas. The figure of “Santa Clause” never existed, St.Nicolas did. The image of Santa was adapted and changed as said in the video followed by artwork created by Coke.
Coke didn't change anything though.. or maybe they had their version a bit.. but that santa already existed before coke did anything.. they didn't change the colours or anything.. they used him mainly because of his convenient colours lol.
