Awesome video, I just passed it along to a friend who started in collecting comics! I know you have posted a number of these kinds of videos in the past. Always great to see the different topics you bring for them! Thanks!
Appreciate it, thanks a lot 👍
Yes, I AM an older collector but know its not too late to learn something new. I use GPA/GoCollect mainly because I was introduced to them by you in other vids. Thanks for sharing!
Glad to hear =)
I am on the same Reddit page and Wow I can’t believe I actually was part of this discussion of the X-men he said water damage and I thought it looked fantastic for what he said the conditions it had sat ib
Like the raw vampirellas, because then you can enjoy the inside art.
I wished I started with this…. Be careful with your PCH and learn before you sell.
Great info. Just subbed. You are on another level my friend
Appreciate it, thanks for the sub 👍
Tip regarding MyComicShop - I utilize their want list feature for all kinds of oddball rarities that you never see much, but show up there. For example I have the Dazzler and ROM issues *with* the Lakeside Tattoos on my want list, and Mark Jewellers variants for DC war books. I find this way more useful than Comiclink's want list feature. Hope y'all find this helpful. Great video!
Thanks for the tip 👍
Can't fault Redditors for being against slabbing, if their intention is to hoard comics from cradle to grave then why bother with slabbing right?
What would the value be on that X-MEN if you were to just remove the staples and not replace them? would it still get a blue label?
What is the big deal about restored/conserved books? Shouldn't collectors want to preserve these treasures. Feels like the hobby is a bit too fickle. Also, Enjoyed the video!
They want to preserve the value which only comes with original parts sadly they don’t care what it looks like your right restored in my opinion should be a good thing 🎉
Coincidentally I have a Giant Size X men cgc 7.5 a beautiful copy probably 8.5 to 9.0. It has rusted staples but it has not migrated to the paper. Lol 😅 I was thinking of having the staples cleaned until I saw your channel.
Glad I could help =). That would definitely get it hit as restored.
I have another question If I bought a golden age comic and it's never been graded and it might come back as a high grade what would be a good starting price to start it at. Thanks.
Honestly that’s an impossible question to answer. Depends on the book and the grade.
Never remove the staples
💯
Being from the UK, i'd snap up that x-men 12p copy and think nothing of it. To me it's no different than the US version at all. 🙂 I mean no disrespect with this next bit... but it amazes me how most North American collectors will only pay 60% of market for pence copies but will then pay a premium for canadian and even austrailian $ variants.... even though they are ALL more rare than US distributed books. Seems a little retarded to me.
The problem with comics are Giant Sized X men ,Hulk # 180 and 181 people missing with comics trying to restore and selling to stupid cgc investors THEY ARE NOT COMIC COLLECTORS IF U BUY A COMIC FOR MORE THEN $5
