    My finding is that the traditional two rail system (count the diamonds) is best if both the cue and objects balls are along, or close to, the same rail. However, Beeler’s spot on the wall method is far more accurate and useful when the cue ball is out from the rail at least one diamond. Keep ‘em coming.

    good content, but you cant just say FORGET the Plus System because the plus system is a great system as well. i use the plus system. I know guys that explain the plus system very well. it may be from the 80's but it works very well. Now the spot on the wall method is a great tool to use instead of the parallel shift. All you these systems are great .People will learn the system that works for them. keep up the great work.

    Seems to me if you are trying to find a spot on the wall and you know that the new track line is 1/2 of a diamond over or 1 diamond over... shouldn't you just find a new spot on the wall based on your original track like from the 5th diamond to the 1/2 diamond or 1 diamond shift you want to make? I would think that it's because you did not take this approach that you missed on your 3rd example, because you cannot shift from an arbitrary spot in the middle of the table the same amount that you think you can. If you are going to use a system. you need to keep your adjustments soundly in coordination with your system or your system will break down and you won't understand why. For example, the closer the ball is to the bottom rail, shifting over a 1/2 diamond from your original aim point is going to have a much greater affect on how much higher it hits on the 3rd rail. So, keep your points of origin on the starting rail. Don't shift it to where the cue ball is. If this doesn't work, then the entire premise for your system is flawed. I look forward to trying this system out for myself. Thanks for the video.

  • @nooneimportant4510
    @nooneimportant4510 3 года назад

    Looks to me like the cue ball is hitting the first rail between the original nonadjusted point and the adjusted point. I will slow the video down and make sure I'm seeing it correctly but I'm confused at why adjust if the contact point is behind the adjusted point. That is in the triangle area. In the half diamond area it looks like the cue ball is hitting the short rail right at the nonadjusted point. Then again I rarely understand other people's kicking methods. Always end up going back to what I know.

      On this particular system, banking a ball down the same path will make the bank go long.
      He is using "running" or right english in these examples. You have to use left english (low left) if you're banking down the same path in order to transfer right english on the object ball.
      Lastly, you'll have to adjust your aiming point on the first rail anywhere from 1/4 to 1/2 diamond closer to the corner pocket depending on the speed of your bank. Play around with it...you'll figure it out!

    The SOTW system for 2 rails is hardly new. One thing you completely fail to mention is distance to the wall which is the single most important variable in your scenario.

      @poolteacher  3 года назад

      Correct, that's assuming that everyone knows that the spot needs to be out there...

    First of all, your "Plus 2 System going out in the 80s" comment is patently false. Once mastered, it is much more precise, accurate, and quicker than any "spot on the wall system". You are actually using the 30 "plus" 50 track line here to carry you to the 80 spot (corner pocket), and any of the other track lines of the Plus System (40-40, 35-45, etc) can be used to find your spot on the wall.
    The problem for spot on the wall systems is you have to find multiple spots on objects depending on which side and direction of the table you are shooting from. What happens if you can't get a spot on the wall because of people standing around? Or you do find it only to have someone step in its path right before you aim at it?
    You can break a diamond down in increments of ten and hit any specific spot on either the long or short rail consistently with a precise numbering system like the Plus 2. The math never changes, but our strokes do!
    The "spot on the wall" technique is nothing more than finding an initial reference or track line, and then extending that line forward at least 10-15 ft to a spot on the wall, chair, beer bottle, table, picture, or other objects.
    Most don't realize these "spot on the wall" techniques can be used for and number of rails (1-rail, 2-rail, 3-rail, 4-rail, 5-rail) kicking systems. Again, you need an initial reference line to carry you to a specific spot on the table, then you just extend that line forward 10-15 feet to some other reference point off the table.
    Most people know that from a corner pocket, a line 2 diamonds away (middle diamond) on the opposite long rail (across the width of the table) carries you to the side pocket. That's a reference line. Extend it to a "spot on the wall", move the cue ball off that track, aim for your "spot", and it will carry you to the side as well.
    A lot of people know how to kick 4 rails around and back to the same corner. Try it! Find your line that tracks to the corner, extend it to a "spot", move the cue ball somewhere else, aim for your "spot", and bang!
    Do remember, though, that any kicking system has its limitations and will break down in certain areas. Thanks for the videos!

    • @poolteacher
      @poolteacher  3 года назад

      Appreciate the comments. I completely disagree with your quicker comment. Nothing quicker than spot on the wall. Many times in matches you just don't have time to do the "calculate" thing, especially with half/quarter numbers etc. That's why I like this better. Thanks for sharing your opinion.
