I'm dying for some more On The Torch episodes
Thank you for the review. I just bought this for my first torch.
My first torch
Great review thanks for sharing!!!
Thank you pimpin for making these review videos! Im looking to upgrade from my bobcat here in the near future. Any chance for some gtt vids? Thanks again Dustin! 🙏
Try and jump 2-3 torches from a bobcat. I went from a bobcat to a cheetah, a month lather got a Phantom.
The Phantom is where you want to go.
Dustin may not have mentioned the torch is on the small side for most work, lol!
Just gonna turn it up a bit... gonna turn it up a bit more... just a little more... you know the good part is that there is plenty of time to react...
Dustin, you make it all look so easy! I've watched this video at least 4 times before I got my torch. Flame control... No clue what I'm doing but I'm have fun doing it! I tried to make a spoon with color... Yeah, it looks like a kindergartener got a hold of a 3d crayon and tried to color the clear tube.. lol guess I'll wait a bit and try it again later when I can make my hands stop making the glass bob up and down.
Óó
You should do a video comparing the mega minor vs the minor
If I'm on a redmax but plan on only working with the minor should I use the redmaxes recommended psi of 5 and 10 or use the minors 2 to 6?
I'm a glass blower that makes neon and I am wondering if there is any reason why you don't attach a blow hose with a swivel to your piece when you work it. I've noticed that most but not all neon guys use a blow hose but I hardly ever see a lamp worker use one. Also I have a couple of ceramic kilns would those work ok for this type of work to anneal the glass?
Is that Mike Mason sneaking around in the back at 6:30? 😂
Could we perhaps get a review of the Mega Minor too?
will this work on natural gas?
Would this be good for making small marbles and pearls I take it? I am trying to get to into the game and this tor is part of a bundle deal i debating on getting
Depends on your budget. Yes. This will work.
I've never blown glass at all but I find it interesting....how does the glass not get so hot all the way through that it keeps from burning the crap out of your hands?
Glass is a good insulator so the heat doesn't tend to transfer through the rod very far. It will only be very hot right around where it was in the flame.
Sabercy thanks for the info. Wasn't sure if his hands were just used to the heat or what lol
Being used to it is definitely part of it though. You'll be able to work near a big flame longer and I've see guys brush off 500 degree glass with their fingers
Sabercy thats CRAZY! LOL
Got mine for $50 on kijiji
It's hotter if you come off of the candles. Use a little less O2. I use this torch daily.
So is it safe to say if I plan to blow anything other than beads or small spoons the minor isn't for me? I'm a complete beginner, and don't want to spend the money on a torch I would soon outgrow if it is something I decide to pursue
@B_c8gs honestly due to the cost getting started I backed out. I never started blowing glass. Life hasn't allowed for much extra funds
