    I JUST placed an order for a Chilipepper kiln and some glass and tools from your website! I am so excited!! All I need to get my new GTT Lynx running now would be a set of flashback arrestors and an oxygen tank and I'll be on my way! Thanks for the awesome website and video explaining this as well. Much love from Georgia, glass fam!!!

    Very nice set-up video! Another easy way I like to check for leaks is to turn my tanks and regulators on to pressurize the lines, then shut the tank off completely. I wait 10 minutes and check the line pressure on the regulator, If its lower or at zero that may indicate a leak.

    How do you know what is the correct pressure when adjusting the propane tank? I have an oxygen concentrator instead of ta oxygen tank.

    What do you recommend for pressure? Looks like you set at 5psi on gas and 10psi on oxygen.

    I’m thinking of upgrading to a larger (for me) torch. I’m looking at GTT Phantom 4 port up to maybe Delta Mag depending on how close to dock my ship happens to be…lol. If you could explain the triple mix hookup and a foot pedal I’d be very appreciative. I understand the end effect but am confused as to how it’s all hooked up.

    For the O2 Tanks, what size do you use, and where would you find one?

    • @mountainglassarts8186
      @mountainglassarts8186 2 года назад +1

      The best place to get oxygen is from a local welding supply shop. We recommend getting the largest tank possible to save yourself the trouble of having to move the heavy tanks more often. The most common size of for compressed oxygen is a K tank. If you're using a larger amount you may want to consider getting liquid oxygen, but these tanks are very large and off gas unlike the compressed tanks.

    Would this be the same setup for the Bobcat Torch - GTT?

    • @mountainglassarts8186

      Yes, it's the exact same setup for any 'single stage' or 'two inlet' torch.

    Just a quick question, can i use oxyacetylene for this? Or it has to be oxy propane

    • @mountainglassarts8186
      @mountainglassarts8186 2 года назад

      It has to be oxy/propane or some torches can use oxy/natural gas. Acetylene is not used for these torches.

    Why no check valves?

    • @mountainglassarts8186
      @mountainglassarts8186 2 года назад

      The flashback arrestors act as check valves plus more. Check valves will only stop reverse gas flow, while flashbacks stop reverse gas flow AND arrests a flashback.

    Flashback arrestors are not needed for a surface mix torch as no combustion is occurring inside of the torch.

    • @MountainGlass
      @MountainGlass  2 года назад

      This may be true, but we prefer being safe over sorry. You never know what can happen when working with fire and compressed gasses.

    • @_P_M_
      @_P_M_ 2 года назад

      @@MountainGlass Since adding arrestors creates more connections which can develop possible leaks I'm not sure how much safer it is. I guess my point is that you should keep your fuel lines as simple as possible. If you don't need flashback arrestors you shouldn't use them.

      @@ryangagnon5489You do realize they made it _possible,_ Queraff? People have built other things using preexisting technology before, I.e, the Wright Brothers taking concepts of Gliders from other people who made Gliders, and stuck prebuild engines into them.

    • @ryangagnon5489
      @ryangagnon5489 Год назад

      @@Victor-056 its way different to take an existing technology and incorporate it into something you invented hence your wright brothers example, which is completely separate from what he did he took an existing product made a fancy housing for it and stuffed the stuff needed to run it into a backpack, which is not innovation if you ask me. let me give an example. if you have 2 mass produced cheap toy helicopters both mechanically identical but one is in blue and the other is in red, are those not the same helicopter? or is the color the thing that makes it completely different from the other. Also i never called him a talentless hack, he has made many great inventions that he designed himself, for example the rebar crossbow, or the v1 titanium lightsaber or the sleep pod. What I do say is, i feel like it is dumb that his claim to fame is the lightsaber when its easily the least impressive thing he has made if you look into it. I have more than a few gripes with him and the hacksmith team for their decisions but i will not get into that because continuing to argue this matter is pointless.
