This takes me back to a special time in my youth. Summer of 1973 and I was twelve years old and consumed by the music of The Hollies, Buffalo Springfield , The Byrds and my favorite songwriter Neil Diamond. For my birthday, my mother and father took me to see Neil at Saratoga Performing Arts, my first concert in a string of hundreds over the decades. Still, to this day, I honor that day and my now deceased parents by picking up the guitar and playing I am I Said or Holly Holy. He is truly one of the greatest singer-songwriters that this country has had and forever in my memories.
Neil you have been with me all my life. Your music has always blessed me and held me through all the tough times and lighten me in the good ones. A few of my favorites are Johnathon Livingston Seagull, Taproot Manuscript. I pray God will be gentle with you and bring you Peace.
