I’ve started buying and using these myself. I think it’s safe to say the Zippo matches are actually better than the UCO storm proof matches because they burn longer. I still keep plenty of UCO matches around, but these Zippos are now my preferred choice. 👍
Another great video and a super product. I've used the UCO brand for many yrs. Sold hundreds of UCO kits when I was on eBay. But I really like the cover over the striker, a big improvment over the UCO container.
Definitely a nice product for the survival bag, great review, that's crazy they burn under water. One can never have enough ways to make fire out in the woods. I like the case it looks like a miniature coffee thermos. Take care Bryan.
Good to know. I have had a case of these in my kayak life vest and never needed them - but it looks like they will do what I need if I need to get a fire going after a spill. I'll probably pick up a refill to keep in my SUV.
You definitely still got the BLOWING down Brian!!!!!! Pretty good for an Old Man... Did you learn that in boy scouts?!?!?!? Just wondering if that's still being taught!?!?!?
Hey Bryan, you smoked 'em with this one!! They take it and keep on tickin!!! Hope that all's well with everyone/thing. Keep up the fun and keep these vids coming. Take care, "God Bless", sincerely Randy. 👍👍🙏😇👊
I ordered some of these after seeing your video. Like you, I have about every fire making tool or product there is but I have never seen these. I have some of the small UCO storm proof matches that work pretty good but these looked cool. I got mine 2 days ago and can't wait to use them. I just went for an overnight camp but we have a "no burn" policy right now in the state due to the virus.
@@SurvivalOnPurpose agree! They say it's because people with respiratory problems may have trouble with the smoke but in my opinion, you can take any argument like that to the nth degree to control people
Gonna pick some of these up soon hopefully. Thanks for the review! God Bless!! -- Proverbs 28: 1 The wicked flee when no man pursueth: but the righteous are bold as a lion.
Cool case. Thinking I'd be looking to put some of those long burn wedge shaped matches in if available. And on that those matches gave me an idea! As I've made my own standard sized stick matches covered with cotton dipped in wax and their burn time is about 7 minutes now I'm thinking of cutting slim popsicle sticks and simply placing the match stick on the end to use to strike wrapped in cotton and dipped in the wax. Could also make a super popsicle match by wrapping many wood matches in the cotton and dipping in hot wax. I heard that Bryan! Come on you like to play with fire. lol
If I was going to mess with matches at all it would be these or the UCO version of the same match. Very handy when it's so cold your bic lighter won't light etc, out of fliud or fuel.....good idea to have around...just in case of a bad storm...pandemic...you know the stuff that never happens😣😂
i did a review on these and a couple other match types 2 years ago . Zippo Typhoon matches , UCO stormproof matches , the pink matches , Ndur survival matches and the Coghlans waterproof matches . titled " Fire ! " on my channel . it's not a bad review if i do say so myself . . . and i do !
The match's response to water exposure tells me the that there's an oxidizer AND an accelerant on those matches...so handle them with appropriate care.
Pretty cool kit, Brian. I have the UST capsule with the whistle on one end and a cap on the other end with a compass on the outside and signal mirror on the inside. On one side of the capsule is a one inch ferro rod (surprisingly produces sparks). On the inside I stored eight storm proof matches and a striker board. I've used the compass practicing orienteering but had a Suunto MC-2 to back it up. It hangs on a shoulder strap of my bug out bag. There's an o-ring on the capsule and I supposed it's to keep the capsule water resistant if not waterproof. Every so often I check one of the matches to ensure it burns...so far so good. This kit costs maybe five bucks all inclusive at Walmart. I'm one of those guys, probably like you, who believes strongly in redundancy especially when it comes to fire. My bug out bag is a 19L Savotta Jakaari S used by the Finnish border patrol and I have three Bic's, two ferro rods, waterproof matches as well as a couple of knives...uh, make that four Bic's. There's a mini Bic in the IFAK. On a backpacking trip to the Mogollon Rim of Arizona, I forgot all sources (almost) of fire starters as everything was stored in a single fire kit pouch which got left behind....never ever again. I was fortunate my stove had an igniter and I was able to start a camp fire.

Your videos never get old.

Not sure they actually burn underwater
Really Brian you like anything to do with fire? I never would have guessed, next you'll be telling me you like knives 😂
Who? Me?

Best matches I've ever seen by a company we love and trust. A must have for campers and survivalists.
The cover over the striker is a good idea.
And your mustache is so manly, I spontaneously grew one just from watching the video ;)
That waterproof coating is PFAS - straight poison
Yeah. You probably shouldn’t eat it ;-)
I've had mine for a couple years and never noticed the extra round stryker pads located inside the red match cap. Thanks for pointing it out to me!
Very cool! It lives up to ZIPPO’s reputation of being windproof. Thank you for sharing this with us Bryan.
You definitely still got the BLOWING down Brian!!!!!!

No burn because of the virus? Because for some people there is just never enough control.

Love this. I saw a review on this earlier this week. Exactly consistent with the test you did.
Great video, great test.
Thank you
your videos are a lot of fun Brian, lol, thanks for posting
Thanks
Awesome matches. Made in USA. Good stuff and good video
Thanks
I love me some fire too and those are so awesome. Great video thanx again
Haven't been able to watch your videos in a while props and thumbs up for rock in the mustache
Welcome back.
Gonna pick some of these up soon hopefully. Thanks for the review! God Bless!! -- Proverbs 28: 1 The wicked flee when no man pursueth: but the righteous are bold as a lion.
Thanks
Great video on a really good product.
With a name like Zippo...it’s got to be good. Wait...nope sorry wrong slogan. Nice product review. Might have to check theses out. Thanks Bryan.
I’m a ferro rod guy but these would be good to have around or as back up.
Yep
Cool review, thanks!!
It was fun
If you are in a situation where you need fire to save your life...these matches are invaluable
I just bought these at Walmart I've been wanting some good storm proof matches they were 9.98 plus tax
Awesome.

'Em some big ol' matches Bryan! Cool!
Yep they are
I like that kit.. thanks for the review
Thanks for watching
Great Video
On, this is good but what about submerged for a period of time?
Seem to be a bigger version of the life boat matches we used to get.
Wonder if you put petroleum jelly on them if it would extend the burn time.
Probably
Wrap them with waxed cotton string?
Got to get some of those, can't get good strike anywear matches anymore. Still have a few life boat matches.
They work great.

On a side note, that’s a very cool Hammy you are wearing!
Not sure what you mean
Survival On Purpose Sorry about that, I’m a watch nerd and it looks like you are wearing a Hamilton Field Watch.
Oh. No it is a Seiko 5 automatic
What are the benefits of matches opposed to ferro rod or a bic?
Easy instant flame
Nice mustache brother
Careful blowing those out. Looked like you almost caught that 'stache on fire! :)
Hah
nice product, you should do a match against the UCO TITAN ,. im gonna have to get those zippo one , they are cool!!!
Both are great
YAYYYYYYY ZIPPO

What is your channel? I'd like to see that review. Great idea to review all fire making devices at once
Dang, Bryan That's Some Good Fire Makin's There ! Great Price ! Stay Safe Friend ! ATB T God Bless
Thanks Terry
Reminds me of trick birthday candles that you can't blow out.
Indeed
So you can only use each match one time
That is generally how matches work.
Can you drown the Match and the Striker Area in Water for Half an Hour then Redo the Test. I want to see if it works in the Real World.
The match's response to water exposure tells me the that there's an oxidizer AND an accelerant on those matches...so handle them with appropriate care.
Compare the zippo matches to the Walmart storm proof matches.
Good idea

Cool
Smoke off that stuff is pretty nasty, big B. Wouldn't be prudent to breathe that smoke too much.
I'm gonna light my pipe with one of these at least once.
Napalm matches ??? Yeah I'd be real careful with these, little johnny could really make a mess with these!
Hmmm
Did you notice that the Zippo container looks like a Thermos?
Yep
Looks like a great product. Just got them on your link. $12.95 today.
Thanks
Umm, needed.
They work
👍🏻🇺🇸
They dropped the ball, not very stealth in the bush with that clanging around
My co worker had got these dropped the container at work and the whole thing exploded buyers beware
