If battle rap was lucrative ARP would not be retiring. Guaranteed. URL is a step ahead of the competition financially because of the app (I don’t subscribe). This interview should not have been outside. ARP deserves better.
Battle Rap's lucrativeness doesn't outweigh its toxicity. If ARP has other forms of income and battle rap was primarily a labor of love, there's no logical reason to continue tolerating the chaos and unprofessionalism. ARP seems to have pushed through for this long because he genuinely loves hip-hop and he appreciates all of the relationships that he's made. He may have started using the URL animosity as fuel. But, being fueled by negativity can ultimately become corrosive. In 2022-2023, it seems like he reached his threshold and there was no turning back for him.

Years ago I always thought about what it would look like for URL & RBE to do business. Sad to see it never came into fruition. On another note, ARP is a genius! “Full circle” is going to essentially prove who is really worth that $ and who’s not. He’s right..even with lack of promotion buzz marketing will take place if the content or quality is unique and/ or valuable. Honestly the initial draw of fans/ consumers through suspense (faceoffs, promo, etc) could somewhat be unethical if the finished product isn’t what fans thought it would be. Therefore, through this concept he will (if he’s interested) have an understanding on who is worth certain back ends
What ARP is basically saying is, you can make millions as a “league owner, but after the expense with paying these battlers for what big events would pay, behind the scenes with the lawsuits, battlers not showing up, coming unprepared, dealing with the bs that he possibly break almost even or make an ok amount. They found the blue print in order to keep battle rap going but fans got mad at them cuz it wasn’t free on RUclips and other leagues used RUclips drops as a selling point but realized this don’t generate the money they need to give the culture the big battles and the battlers the money they want… now it’s fuck the rappers fuck the RBE fans… no money they out… but who there to keep the culture alive and trying to push it forward URL… how u create this separation between the leagues made rappers pick sides then walk away from ur front liners …
