    Hello everyone, welcome to my channel. Like so many others, my lifestyle changed due to the pandemic.
    Before the pandemic, my families lives had become so hectic & busy that there never seemed to be a good time to travel anymore. Somewhere along the line we realized that our last vacation was in 2011. We decided that it was time we made some travel plans.
    Then the pandemic hit! I no longer wanted to travel by plane or stay in a hotel. We decided that a bettter and safer alternative would be to travel in our own vehicle, one that we could also sleep in, cook our own meals in, vacation in. The rest is history!
    However, the RV shopping process is not easy and required a lot of research. I want to share what I have learned along with my ongoing experiences and adventures through my channel which offers:
    RV tours / walkthroughs
    Camping destinations
    Hiking
    RV modifications & DIYs
    RV Cooking
    And much more…..
    So I invite you to come along with me on this ongoing RV journey.

      Hello, please do checkout Roadtrek Pivot, seems much better than Rangeline. I did look at Rangeline, the bed set up in the back is really poorly designed, and I would say for older folks would be a big Hassell.

    This one seems to have the right combo of everything. If the bed was difficult to put in place then lift up, I would leave it down and ready to sleep in. All of the day's living would be in the front anyway.

      I'm in Mammoth Lakes skiing for three weeks. There is no way to find a place to dump the black tank. I'm glad that I'm staying at a hotel this time. If I buy an RV, I'll install a Cinderella Incineration Toilet. Then, I can use the toilet in icy weather.

    If anyone is going to spend that much money? A class C would be a much better value in my opinion! That generator underneath the cassis is a problem waiting to happen. But you did a great job showing us !! Thanks 👍

    • @billredding2000
      @billredding2000 Год назад

      Class Cs have ALWAYS been cheaper for more space...but some of us do not want a C, partly because they ARE larger. Not to mention their construction, looking like a RV (no ''stealth" factor to help overnight parking maybe, or to "hide" from a HOA/Covenant community's rules), parking it -- and so on. Even a B+ would have similar negatives. So a Class B it has to be (for some of us). Still, SOME of them are pretty large for a B (but still too large for my needs).

      Hello Ralph, Unfortunately, for those of us who prefer or need a B class RV van, they do tend to be pricier than Class C RVs.

    Something I wonder is whether owners of smaller RV's like this often use them as their everyday vehicles, for commuting and whatnot, or they're usually just for vacation use.

    • @TravelingKory
      @TravelingKory Год назад +1

      Actually considering trading my daily driver Subaru Crosstrek for a Class B. Since my wife both work remotely and already have a second vehicle (Subaru Forester), we're thinking a van could be a nice secondary vehicle (neither of our current vehicles are driven often during the week), quickly available for the many weekend road trips we often make and the occasional longer term trip.

    • @BrittMFH
      @BrittMFH Год назад +2

      I think it varies widely. I'd use it for traveling between MN and FL.

    • @ralphkeith2905
      @ralphkeith2905 Год назад +1

      @@TravelingKory I also work from home. Recently sold my Chevy Colorado 4x4 that was setup for camping trips (roof-top-tent, water tank, etc.) and purchased a Pleasure-Way Tofino. Since I'm used to basic camping, the Tofino was a major step towards "glamping". I'll use it for visiting clients, working remote at the beach or trail head and traveling to running and mountain biking events as well as week-long camping trips. The size of the Tofino makes it perfect for around town.

    • @TravelingKory
      @TravelingKory Год назад +1

      @@ralphkeith2905 sounds like a great move for you! 👍 I've heard great things about Pleasure-Way quality. Been considering their OnTours as well. Appreciate your feedback! 😊

    • @billredding2000
      @billredding2000 Год назад +2

      @@ralphkeith2905 I also like the Tofino, one reason it's made by Pleasure-Way (one fo the few quality RV makers in the industry). Another is its price: WAY more affordable for most of us! Of course, that's probably mostly because it's not a "full-amenities" Class B as they usually are (for one, no bathroom/shower), but for MY purposes it'd be fine (and would carry a portable toilet anyway -- just in case).
      I occasionally do long road-trips and I prefer to stay in hotels each night (and maybe 7-10 days at a hotel when I get to my destination), so I really don't NEED said "full-amenities" Class B, just something I can use for a more comfortable travel (on Interstates or 2-lane state highways) and if I wanted to keep driving longer than usual a particular day -- but was getting tired and needed some rest (for safety's sake) -- could pull into a Rest Stop or such and get some sleep (COMFORTABLE sleep, not scrunched up in a car/truck) and save hotel $$ for that night, then continue my trip the next day.
      So for me, something like a Tofino ("pop-top" camper-van) would be good for that...not to mention, it would be my one-and-only vehicle, so it'd also be my Daily Driver as well: No issue driving it around town or parking it anywhere.
      I DO like some of the other brands of pop-tops but they're not made by a quality RV maker (just "average" and average in the RV industry it not saying much), so despite their "eye candy" appeal and additional amenities thye have over a Tofino, I'd not want to pay distinctly more and get one of those (like a Winnebago Solis).
      Happy Travels,

    Nice unit for one or two people, maybe. Would not call this an off-road vehicle because: 1) the first thing that would get ripped off would be those low-hanging sidesteps, 2) the low-hanging grey water sewer outlet would be ripped off when overlanding. this is a nice unit for people that drive on paved roads to the local park beach or outdoor activity on well-graded gravel-covered secondary roads. Just because you put all-terrain tires on a vehicle, does not make the vehicle an off-road vehicle. Would you take a $200K vehicle into the bush to scratch the sides and beat the hell out of the interior on rock-strewn trails? Well I guess there are some people that have more money than brains that would!

      My immediate thought on seeing that also.The ground clearance of the vehicle wasn't bad but under the generator there wasn't a lot of clearance.But I do like the idea of having an onboard generator,I would always be worried about running out of power.Especially as no propane tank either.

      That design-flaw (serious, IMO) seems to be the rend nowadays...no thought given to hitting something on the hwy and taking-out your generator...and it's your dime to fix it (not a "warranty item" even though THEY put it in that silly location).
