I have a 2016 with 1st generation EFI. I believe yours is the same. (2019 was 2nd generation). I added the EJK fuel controller and the stumble hesitation etc disappeared. I would highly recommend it!!

Great fun, add mud and rocks and sand! Just serviced our 2023 GU after 10 months and 10,000k going great. PS My wife wanted a seatbelt too but the Ural community we ride with convinced her otherwise :-)

The sputtering at low speed and off idle could be unbalanced or unevenly adjusted throttle cables. Also there is a rubber tip at the end oh the cable housing that can come off and slide down to interfere with the even pull of the throttle. Yes use premium, ethanol free if possible.

Oh Ural IMZ.. I drived it with my buddy suplling home cattle with fresh grass. We were 14-15 years old in the middle 90s.. It was of blue colour with rear gear( new option), 1 WD ... Every russian village had only 2-3 Urals and Dneprs back then... Best soviet bike along with Dnepr.

Fun video! A few weeks ago I ran into a guy who restores a 1960' URAL in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. He needs all new rubber parts.

The infamous pontoon mufflers. 😂. You can also scrape the left-side pontoon when flying the chair, ahem.
Good job on fleeing the sandtrap.

Hello there. I have an Ural Retro Classic from 2018 with the same stuttering issues. First we thought to have found the culprit in the rubber tubes that connect the air filter with the carburetor on each cylinder. Mine were a bit worn out and had some fine fissures but exchanging those did not do much to be honest. Usually, its not a big issue but sometimes the engine starts spluttering when the revs go down to 1500 rpm or below (measured by ear 🙂) and the ride gets annoyingly rocky if not kept above that certain rpm margin. Haven't found the real culprit either. Oil is good. I check occasionally but it basically keeps everything inside just fine. I had leakages after my first 1000 km trip where I chased it down towards the Croatian coast but that was my fault as I constantly revv'd it up on hillclimbs when I was trying to keep up with the rather quick travelling locals and also kept average travelling speed on highways above 100 kph (sometimes up to the max of 125 kph). I guess I had to learn it the costly way that there is just so much heat an aircooled engine can handle in mediteranean climate in the month of July.... Anyway - after a well deserved refit that got fixed. The only thing that remained was that stutter, which I did not observe prior - at least not as noticeable.
Greetings from Switzerland and keep posting about your ride. 😃

I had an 08 patrol 2wd, I bought it brand new, I had it 5 years. My big complaint, under powered, needs to be at least a 900cc also needs a 5th gear way to slow. Also it broke down way to often. It left me stranded a few times The sidecar was built pretty well but the bike is a POS. You talk about passing big rigs what a joke these things are so gutless they can't get out of their own way. One thing good that came out of it was I was able reverse engineered the side car and built one for a 1977 gl 1000. 100 times more reliable and able to maintain 120 kph all day long. My goldwing sidecar rig has been on the road for13 years with basic maintenance needed. Lastly these sidecar bikes are very expencive for what you get. !3 year old custom sidecar on a 47 year old motorcycle no break downs. I would never buy another ural.

@@markseehawer3762 there's a difference between carburator and the EFI. Yes, a fifth gear would be great

@@kaleidoscopeKWYes the fuel injected bikes are marginally better. but still grossly under powered. I bought the 1977 goldwing with the intention of transplanting the GL engine into the ural. After some carefull measuring I decided to just copy the sidecar chassie and put it on the gold wing. For what I sold the Ural for paid for the build, and I'll tell this that 47 year old bike has out performed that ural both power and reliability. One of my fears with riding the Ural on the highway was getting rear ended. When your down to 80kph on a hill and everbody is flying by you at 130kph its a little terrifing. My gold wing will do a steady 120kph and I can push it up to 130kph. That is why the Ural got sold just to dam slow. I find that nowadays everybody is speeding, and if you can't keep up you'll get hit. As for off roading your better off in a side by side. I rode TRIALS bike for years when I was young they to would ride circles around the Urals

Sounds like you need to have your valves adjusted you might wanna look at that they could cause your carburetion problem you're having with your bike not wanting to idle at low speed
