I really like your motorcycle videos. I'm just starting to get into working on my bike (my summer project is to get it running again), and your videos are clear, informative, and cleanly produced. Great job, and nice bike! I love the old Hondas--mine is a '78 CX500.
The main problem is the bush that is worn on the shaft that turns inside the points.... The bush wears then the chaft has more movement and gives you excessive gap in your points.
The spark plug gap tool you were using has the tool to adjust the gap on it. Banging your plug on the ground is a good way to mess up a brand new plug.
My point is that is just like using a hammer to set a nail then putting down the hammer and grabbing a rock to pound the nail in. How does your tapping method work if you close the gap to far? Just saying the gap prying tool is right there on the gap tester.
No - I am getting the same hell. It is very frustrating. I can only get it started if I roll it down a big hill. I am thinking that it probably had low compression. That explain some things. I need to drag it home and check that out. Or convert it to electric, which is my other plan.
@@mbrenengen glad to hear yours is running. I'm fairly certain that seller of mine put a new battery on it, certainly looks new. I'll give that a go after I've replaced the points and condenser. Thanks
well im not one to work on motors to often buttttttt, it looked like your coniffler pin was a little loose on the flux vortex capacitor. so tighten that up a bit and make sure to run the purple wire all the way from the fusion floataion device to the horn... you should have no issues after that!!!! or maybe them bikes dont have enough power and if you keep it at 2000 rmp at stops she wont cut out and lights and indicators will work. idk try both

Do these bikes have a magneto or stator?
oil seal behind points?

If characterize it as tapping and never in 45 years have I messed one up. But thanks!

Ever get around to chainging the points and did that solve the issue? I have a 74 cb125s that is giving me hell. I can not get it to run

Are you have cb100 fuel gas tank for sale ? Coment please
Did you ever solve this? I have the exact same issue here in 2021 😆
Yes. It is mostly a bad 6v battery.

Someone else said it might be the Fitzer valve...
not a capacitor it's a condenser

90% of all fuel/carburetor problems are electrical... 😆
I love that. And agree.
@@mbrenengen in fact I'm bringing a 74 CB125s back to life. .It wouldn't idle, I just put a new plug in it and it runs and idles like a charm.
