The day at the funeral of my Mum, i have the whole day a stoned face, without emotions . But, when i come home, i hear this Song. I cry for hours. Thank you Floor for this wonderful Version, and thank you Tuomas for this awesome Song. 🤘

This is a tearjerker of a Nightwish song. Tuomas wrote it for his parents obviously. They dedicated it the parents of all the band members. No doubt your kids love you as much as they possibly can.

Tuomas ballad's are so beautiful, so lovely to hear this with Floor. Lost my dad also 20 years ago. We found a c-casette where he had sang his favorite songs, and we convert it to a CD, but it's not easy o listen to it, there are songs he sang to us when we were kids.

In Hertme, she sang this right after Strong. At the end of Strong she was struggling with her tears as usual and with this song it just went on ... At least in the first rows there were then some group hugs!

i lost my father 5 years ago so this song hits me emotionally very much. i still miss him very much and i wish that i can see him one last time. Floors performance was amazing as always❤

Aww this song always gets to me too 🧡 lost my mum 10 years ago and though she still visits my dreams, to see her one more time... also my father lives in another country now and haven't been able to see him since before lockdown. This song brings up those memories of wonderful childhood days and how dearly I still love them both despite the distance 🧡

Lovely reaction! Song is from the Endless Forms Most Beautiful album. I haven't been able to find a live performance with Nightwish. Samantha Steenwijk did a gorgeous version of this song for Floor on Beste Zangers but she re-wrote the lyrics in Dutch. ruclips.net/video/K8dRBeO6XJU/видео.html with english sub titles if you turn them on. They both get emotional. I wonder if this is where she got the idea to include this song in her solo shows. Mikes me teary eyed everytime. Just so beautiful.

I believe Tuomas wrote this for his parents, but it perfectly describes Floor's relationship with her parents, and could have been written for her. It is in the same vein as 'Strong', another beaufifully melancholic song. Seeing your reaction speaks to the power and empathy of Tuomas' compositions. I see Buster is keeping the Wolfman's seat warm, for his return, which will hopefully be soon. A speedy recovery to our hirsute lycanthrope! ;-)

She said that when they she recorded her vocal parts for the Nightwish album, her parents had visited them in Finland at the studio, and had left a short time before, so it wasn't difficult for her to put emotions in her voice, since she had a lump in her throat while recording...

Floor is vocal soul medicine. You're getting a double dose for the Skuppetmaster bcz he seems to be in need. Was catching up on some of your recent reactions and one in particular didn't look too well (Wolf's speech was off and later he seems to have fallen or something?). Tuomas wrote this one to express the whole band love of their parents even while away from home. Touring can be very difficult being separated from family and friends for so long.

Hi...very emotional song and reaction ...just like we all do....as already mentioned Floor in Hertme sang this after Strong and in both songs she struggeled with her emotiones and had short interruptions because of being teared up...another beautifull song she sang for the first time in Hertme was Cry with a smile live in Hertme, which is also on YT filmed by Dm2zz...all my good wishes for wolfman and his nose...god bless you 🙂
Nightwish hasn't done this Live. Tuomas says this is such an Emotional Song. Maybe he's afraid they would all be crying and couldn't sing or play it through. The Album version tho is Beautiful.

Dang.it Sue...the song didn't get me...but you did! I keep a big emotional distance from my mom...tho I live w her in a small apt. She's 86, and starting to (pretty suddenly) fall apart. I cannot allow myself a soft heart, bc in many ways, I must now be the parent. Lost my dad 20yrs ago, but he was not in my life. Being so entwined w my mom...its going to be a shock, when it's her time. Omg do something upbeat tmrw! Going to see Rammstein!!
Sometimes it saddens me to think that when Max is my age I’ll be dead and buried. - Which is why it’s so important to try and stay healthy so we stay immersed in the family for as long as possible.
Agree - When I talk to my kids about when I will die one day they jokingly say, “new life goal: die before 30” 😂. But I agree about you and Max! 💜
Understandably this hits hard for people who have lost (one of) their parents. But Tuomas also wrote this song as a tribute to all living and loving parents. On the other hand I guess that sadly enough these lyrics may be hard to stomach for people who are/were in a bad relationship with their parents.
You should definitely listen to the original version Suesue, while this is a wonderful performance from Floor, I much prefer the original 🤘
