Hi Ellie, sorry I missed your live, I've just caught up and am really looking forward to your safe return from the Scilly isles with some great stories and finds. As always great content and really interesting talks. Have fun and stay safe 👍
Hi Ellie. I actually discovered you by watching Nicola White. She posted a video from detectival where she met you and that was it!! Look forward to your future videos❤
I have dived the Scillies over many years including the Bishops rock lighthouse, the Western Rocks, Sir Clowdisley Shovell’s wreck of the association and many many more. There are literally hundreds of shipwrecks and canons littering the seabed around the Scillies testimony to how lethal the islands have been to shipping throughout the ages. Tim Allsop and latterly his daughter run a fantastic dive charter out of St Martins. if you’re not a diver they can take on a magical experience to snorkel with the seals. I look forward to sharing your adventures on the beautiful IOS.
The Scilly Isles. We old gen Cornish know the place as, 'marow an Enesow'' 'the dead Isles' Bitta old Janner gen for you Ellie, for what it's worth. Enjoy your time there😊.
'marow an Enesow', the dead Isles, in meso-Cornish. As you say Ellie, an abundance of burial sites from ancient times . People are still dying to get there 😉😉. Chons da Ellie.

I decided to refresh my world geography using google map’s, to see exactly where you were headed. I wonder if the Spaniards would of dared venture so close to England ?
According to Google ‘The Spanish Armada sailed past the Scilly Isles on July 19, 1588, and was scattered by the wind. The fleet regained its formation as it entered the Channel. The English first spotted the ships near the Lizard in Cornwall, expecting an attack’ they sailed right past where I live in Devon! There’s a good map of the route on Wikipedia!

Sir Cloudsley Shovel, why don't we have such wonderful names like that nowadays .
It’s pretty aristocratic isn’t it. His first burial place was St Mary’s and then his remains were moved to Westminster i believe.
