A quick note! Not all of these issues are affecting every Switch out there. Also some of these issues can be fixed through a patch in the future. Please enjoy this video!
Sword they had to push the switch out as fast as they possibly could, they lost too much money on the Wii U, they were expected to sell anywhere from 60 to 100,000,000 systems over the course of its lifespan, when they discontinued it was January, they only sold 13 million, and manufactures didn't want to make games for it because it wasn't a profitable system, so Nintendo felt that, ready or not, the switch needed to be out as soon as possible
Steyr Acrx from the article I read last night, the majority of people's consoles work and Nintendo is handling everything, according to them it's not a problem
Lets prove EVERY point wrong. 1. Friend Codes are out of date I suppose but is not really a massive problem that 'Nintendo Players HATE About The Switch' is it. (Plus they are adding more features to the friend list when the app is released later this year.) 2. Screen scratching actually only happens if you put it in wrong and barely anyone has had this issue. 3. This is effectively point 2.5. 4. This happens to a small minority of systems and they are very soon patching it. 5. Once again, this happens to a VERY small minority of switches and as you did mention is not exclusive to switches. 6. Many more features are coming later, in fact Nintendo have stated that they don't want internet browsing, social media etc. yet because they want people to use it as a GAMING console first and foremost and then later will add these abilities to allow for a more inclusive experience. 7. This is so uncommon that it is effectively useless on this list. (Plus full refunds are to be given out if this happens) 8. Once more this is coming with the app that is coming later and is not necessary at this moment in time for the system to be good. 9. So what? I do not understand this point. You will not exactly need this. 10. I have a personal experience with the issue. I thought my joy-con was ruined at first but believe me it is not that hard to get of when you try it. (Plus it is unlikely this will happen given the clear +/- symbol, it only happened to me due to a younger person using my switch) Note: You may say that my repeated use of 'come later' or things alone those lines is evidence that the switch as rushed but how come i can still prove everything you think I wrong as incorrect, seems like a polished console to me. (Plus as mentioned in point 6 Nintendo want the core gaming experience first, and the added stuff later.) Overall, I think your research was lacklustre and overall poor. I would also like to point out the use of click bait in your all caps HATE and misleading title considering me and many of my friends and acquaintances are all very fine with the switch and everything in this video but would be classed as 'Nintendo Players' considering our history and love for the company. (Feel free to reply your opinion and let me know, I will consider editing this comment if I feel necessary and I must note I do not intend to offend you or anyone with this comment I am simply expressing my opinion.)
There is actually a way to EASILY make sure the straps don’t slide on wrong. you just have to match up the minus button with the minus button and match the plus button with the plus button
To those who bought a Switch at launch, thanks for doing the beta test for us people who will wait! Modern gaming has been doing this for games where the initial game is a demo, but Nintendo is the first company to sell console demos before its full release.
I'm not really a nintendo fan. I had a gamecube and still have a n64, but I'm mostly a PC gamer. So let me clarify, from an outside standpoint, almost all of your claims sound like nitpicking. Most of your complaints start with "most switches don't have this problem, but some do" or end with "nintendo has said they intend on dealing with this". The switch doesn't sound like a "major disappointment" at all. I got an Xbox360 back when they first came out, I know what terrible release quality looks like. Everyone I knew was telling me how their Xbox was melting and asking me how to fix the "red ring issue". I remember that some early PS2's had a similar problem. Your #1 complaint was that the wrist straps didn't come with instructions, your console isn't shooting flames out of the exhaust, just chill out.
I would like to point out that the dock is a $60 product alone. Also, friend codes are in general fine with me, because it means it isn't a name-based system where each user must have a unique name. Meaning I don't have to come up with 5 different iterations of my typical handle before finding one that "isn't already taken." And you can add people you've played with in a game before through the menus, and local switches, like with the 3ds.
gamer 10000 I have played thru most of BOTW, but I would say 400€ (330€ for console+ 65€ for Zelda) isnt worth it...But im looking for upcoming games in the future like Mario and indie games
it depends on what you earn or what you have personally i dont mind wasting about 400-450 on this console but not all people can afford it no offense at all dont take this the wrong way
I love the joycon strap thing. I watched a livestream where they actually put it in the wrong way first. And well then sledgehammer happened :D I don't think they managed to take it off
MrHappy you don’t have to be a diehard Zelda fan to enjoy the switch at launch. I know it’s a year later but still. I didn’t like Zelda a few months ago but as soon I played it I was hooked.
Probably some people experience the screen being scratched by their Nintendo Switch's dock because they just dropped it in. I think my dock is built well, but I lightly but my Nintendo Switch into the dock. Also I have a screen protector for my Nintendo Switch, so if it gets scratched by the dock, I have some protection.
I love my switch. after building a gaming PC there is no point in buying a Xbox or PlayStation well PlayStation mostly because every game on Xbox i can play on Pc now the new ones i mean. Nintendo is the only thing that offers me something my pc cant. of course the switch has its problems everything does but ask yourself does the good outweigh the bad?
Alexios Blake You need it if the switch has online capabilities you idiot. if that is your argument then nintendo shoulf just scrap online for the switch altogether. no online games, no wifi, just go back 20 years. the point is why have a friends list if you can't interact with them? ffs the orginal xbox allowed you to message your friends online!
I haven`t said anything against the online service I simply said that the friend and message system aren`t something you absolutely need for a good gaming expierience.
I'm so fucking happy I have a perfect switch, my dock doesn't scratch my screen, my games load up quickly, my switchs screen is clean and no dead pixels. 😁👌
The funny thing is many people complain about the screen scratching, but there have only been a few people that have shown it. Most videos when talking about it state they have not had the issue, I have not had the issue, and no one I know has had the issue. I think this is just a very isolated issue, that due to carelessness on a few people's part, has been blown out of proportion.
That is sort of what we did for the WiiU. Got it fall 2015 for a sweet deal. Love it. Got my Zelda for WiiU instead of the Switch because it costs $90 after tax (Cdn) rather than almost $600 after tax (and the stupid environmental fee we have here now that ups the cost of all electronics by $30-50)
So holiday of 2017, where the Switch unleashes it's Soft Launch plan to drastically go down in price and have plenty of hyped up games to choose from. Just like what the 3DS did...
the issue is they made a damn Zelda machine and every idiot including game journalists bought the damn thing, these are sold out in most stores for a reason because people keep buying them yet they dont come bundled with a game and right now only have Zelda and 1. 2. switch. that is a damn tech demo. this is the shit that every game journalist does "oh this thing is going to be amazing" then it launches "oh its sucks"
because i dont watch pre release videos of anything as its all just hyping something up and then the release the reviewers tell you its shit. also im not watching a switch video, im watching a gamingbolt 10 things X players hate about X thing, i like these types of videos and watch for games i dont even play or intend on playing and for systems i dont own or intend to buy, i do intend on buying a switch when more games are released for it however im considering getting one much later than i originally planned because of all the problems im now thinking of waiting for a 2.0 version or something with a bundle with a couple of games
The Switch is fantastic. Once you play one, you'll understand... transferring from the TV to mobile seamlessly is the most natural way to game in the world.
"Lack of features" Oh no video game system only plays video games, whatever shall i do?! Seriously? Griping it only plays video games is like complaining that your TV only shows a moving image. Its what it was designed to do!
Marina Liteyears No, they haven't. People are just autistic and forget what something is originally intended for. With smart phones, every one of those features is like 10 times better. I don't need it on my VIDEO GAME CONSOLE.
I lucked out with my Switch so far. My launch PS4, on the other hand, has had a shit load of issues that eventually got resolved. The latest modular Corsair PSU I got for my PC died within 20 minutes. New hardware always has the most problems. Either wait for a refresh or be informed and take preventative measures.
Cory Leisten that rumor is actually being reported on. Also the PS5 is rumored to also be more then 10 teraflops. The PS4 is moving from success to success, with record breaking sales, and a frankly stellar lineup of games that seems to recall the glory of the PlayStation 2 days. With Sony just having released the PlayStation VR, PlayStation 4 Slim, and PlayStation 4 Pro last year, one would expect that we are slightly over half the PS4’s intended life cycle- however, one analyst disagrees. Macquarie Research Analyst Damian Thong has stated that he expects Sony to launch the PlayStation 5 in 2018’s second half. Not just that, he expects it to be a rather powerful system too, with a 10 TFLOPs GPU that would far outstrip any other console on the market- including Microsoft’s Scorpio, which is due for release later this year. “We see sustained profit growth in Game & Network Services. We forecast OP growth from ¥140bn in FY3/17 to ¥180bn in FY3/18, driven by expanding software sales and profits,” the analyst’s note reads. “A rising digital ratio and a higher mix of first-party titles will help margins - Horizon Zero Dawn, which launched on 28 Feb, looks to have had a good start with a Metacritic score of 88. While we have tempered expectations to account for rivalry with Microsoft/Xbox and PC gaming, we note that the success of PS VR (which has reached 915K units sold) highlights the health of the ecosystem. We expect Sony to launch a >10 TFLOPS ‘PS5’ in 2H18 to secure the installed base.” Is this something you see happening? Next year seems to be a bit too soon to me- and if nothing else, it would make PlayStation 4 Pro owners really angry. On the other hand, it would be a hell of a way to make the Scorpio obsolete far before it can do any serious damage.
marlon alston those rumors have zero evidence to back his claim. this happens all the time with false rumors. 2019 earliest or Sony will piss off so many people
The thing I hate most about the Switch is that it was stolen, and my warranty doesn't cover things like theft, so now the my console, the game, and my case, $400 in value, are all down the drain.
keep in mind that this is the soft launch for the switch, in fact, so that's why a lot of features are missing. they are coming around fall and holiday seasons.
"well made piece of hardware" but scratches the plastic screen, has connection problems all around and Nintendo's position on dead pixels is that it's normal and not a defect!
first i want to start off with im not a fanboy (maybe) anyway the dock with the screen problem i agree there you can buy screen protector but thats buying more than what you already gonna buy so i d recemand not to buy if you dont own alot of money, with the onnectivity thing well, how far you goonna be from the tv?it depends and plus its anoying when the ps4 internet goes off, with dead pixels......i dont mind but it is depending how much thier is,
gamer 10000 my Internet stopped going down in the ps4 ever since I switched to ethernet. Wifi sucks and isn't safe, in the switch you can't even choose that. The switch right now is full of issues, people should never buy a console day 1.
yes,but nintendo switch is in beta so acourse right now it has a tun of issues the thing is nintendo was rushing the console because after the fail of wiiU they need some money, hve you seen these prices!but anyway ima buy it because i have no paitence but i have hope so maybe it will turn oout better in a while
gamer 10000 how is bad hardware fixable? The console's made of cheap materials and sold for a premium, in fact it is the most expensive one. Being in beta state isn't an explanation, it's an insult to the consumer. Only Nintendo gets away with shit like this. Sad.
I may consider getting a switch if Nintendo: 1) Start replacing systems defective with dead pixels, so I am not taking a $300 gamble. 2) Support Netflix, surfing the internet, etc. 3) Make a new version of the console with the charger port NOT on the bottom. 4) Completely and totally fix the the JoyCon issue 5) Release a new Megaman or Metroid game for it (a real one)
Dimitrich Truideman Although I haven't had any problems with my switch, I think Nintendo relied wayyyyyyyy too much on fans and just was lazy with the whole console.
Sony fanboy tears would fucking mean the end of the world. So Sony makes the same system over and over again so their fanboys won't cry. Thanks you, Sony. Thank you for keeping your fanboys happy.
Too Dank 4 U I rather like Sony's "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" to the duel shock controllers. But saying each iteration of the Playstation consoles are the same is, without a doubt, pretty stupid. To be frank, as a long time gamer with some perspective, Nintendo's consoles have been hit or miss since the Super Nintendo because their out of the box approach towards gaming does not resonate with traditional gamers. Not to mention Nintendo choices with the past three consoles have left a lot to be desired.
What I hate the most is how we're getting a port of mario kart 8 instead of getting mario kart 9. Now those who didn't cop out on the wii u will likely have to wait another console generation.
kitty collins good it's good to wait for the switch never buy new consoles at launch always wait a year or 2 when they have more games and fix there problems
Paw Hunter in all honesty, I actually think Nintendo has some cheek re-releasing Mario Kart 8 on the switch as a launch title. Mario Kart 8 was terrible anyway, even if you're overlooking the fact it's already been released on the previous console. I don't know if it's the same on the switch but the wiiu version only came with half the game on it. It wasn't a case of them later releasing new tracks as dlc, it literally said click here to unlock the other tracks and I THINK (don't quote me on this) I think I paid about £15 on top of the retail price (which let's face it, all games nowadays are an extradinate price anyway regardless of how good or bad they may be) to own the entire game. Don't get me wrong the gameplay was good, the tracks were good (although as usual a lot are just updated old ones and since the Wii graphics weren't that far away from the wiiu quality it seemed a bit of a rip putting those tracks in 8....) but to then re-release it again.... I know why though. They're trying to get the players who didn't bother with the wiiu... Still it wouldn't have hurt them to just release Mario Kart 9 instead... not just give you the same thing but allow you to hold two items this time- big fricking deal...
With Zelda BOTW, I get the "the software was closed because an error occurred" error message which crashes the game. Nintendo support asked me to send in the game cartridge for repair. They sent me a replacement cartridge a week later, but I still get the error. Now, they're asking me to send in the game and the switch console itself for repair for them to troubleshoot.
All right let's see: 10# 100% true 9&8# Seeming how they took down the dock from their page I think they're fixing this one. 7# Nintendo says that's our problem so not seeing a future there 6,5&4# Never heard of these, that sucks. #3 They're at least trying to add this 2# Totally agree, it's straight up bullshit 1# They should've made it impossible but I think it can be expected from somebody to look at the joycons for a second to see the symbol that indicates what way to put them on
KingofRetards12 I mean seriously, how dumb do you have to be to put the strap on on top instead of the bottom, I swear stupidity is now a valid reason for hating something
Nickplays or they are in a darkroom and have no idea how they are putting it in cause its possible to inset them the wrong way for some absurd reason...
Random comment: There were only two consoles I got at launch, that being the original 3DS and the Switch. And I recall people commenting on their screens getting scratched when they closed their 3DS because of the flawed design. My solution, to myself and other gamers as I was working GameStop at the time, was to put the cleaning cloth that came with it on the screen before closing it. Eventually I did sell my original 3DS, and when I did, the cloth trick seemed to do its job. But, yeah, you raise a point that Nintendo really should've learned their lesson come the second time around. Which sucks because I'm not a fan of playing the console undocked... I don't know, maybe I'm spoiled with my 40" screen TV and playing on anything smaller just feel weird (and it not being on a phone or a handheld. Just got to think of it as a handheld I guess.)
damn....kinda feel like this is the info everyone who did a system review should have covered instead of gushing over new admittedly cool hardware and zelda. i may wait now....hmmm.
2:25 the reason I got a screen protector. I don't know if mine is poorly manufactured, but I don't want to find out. I think they fixed the locked save files thing.
Shofu Tha BeatDown you sir a sorely mistaken if you believe that Nintendo could make a perfect console, people expect to much, were the Xbox 1 and PS4 perfect... heck no and no one seemed to comment on those problems did they?
Caleb Spickelmier the other systems ACTUALLY played games, and had way more games to choose from to mask their shortcomings, unlike the switch having 2 great games
Shofu Tha BeatDown yes they did have some good launch titles, but it's no as easy as cake to release great launch titles, you need to keep in mind that Nintendo was in a time crunch, and also I think all the launch titles are super cool, we have 1 large market game 1 pretty awesome puzzle game, a good dance game and a good 2D platformer, you see my point is is that it's up too interpretation on whether the launch titles are good or not I personally like them, and you may not, and I respect your opinion.
These problems are Nitpicks at best. 10: Friend Codes? That has nothing to do with actually playing the game. 9: Screen Scratching? really? If you find it being scratched, buy a Screen Protector. 8. There's more to the docks than what you think, and the materials cost more than you think. 7. Desyncing. while it can get annoying, it can be fixed easily. 6. Dead Pixils. How about some proof first, then talk. 5. This is a GAME CONSOLE. You shouldn't need the other stuff to have a Good time. 4. Factory Defect that can get fixed/ get replaced. and BoTW isn't the only worthwhile game 3. Practically everyone has Discord/Skype/a phone. 2. Kind of annoying and the only thing that isn't nitpicking. 1. Not everyone is going to use them, so this isn't even a big problem. want to make it easier if it's really that hard? put something on the side that shouldn't go on the connection. so basically.... LOTS OF NITPICKING.
I see all the Nintendo fanboys screaming don't buy a console on day 1, yet I haven't ran into any of these problems with Sony or Microsoft this generation. The Switch was a nice idea, but Nintendo should've simply built a more powerful traditional home console.
the problem is that after the big fail of the wii U nintendo rushed for the nintendo switch to get some money have you seen those prices!!!but still its alo still in beta and you people still gonna call me a fanboy of nintendo (NO IM NOT IM MOSTLY A PC GAMER/MICROSFT FANBOY SINCE THEY CREATED WINDOWS 10
gamer 10000 the biggest problems with the Wii U was the name, form factor, controller, power, and lack of 3rd party support. Nintendo had a golden opportunity to be a proper home console gaming solution once again by building a legitimate contender to the PS4 and Xbox one, but instead someone had a hair-brained scheme to try out some hybrid-portable-home console-thingy. If the Switch was an $800 unit the hybrid idea probably would've worked out a lot better because there wouldn't have been any need to cut corners... unfortunately there's a price to be paid for trying to go so cheap and creating a so called hybrid console with such a small form factor.
im not a nintendo fanboy, but did *you* buy the switch at launch? because you may have not had a problem like you didn't with sony or microsoft. if you did than sorry.
No save file transfer, this is my biggest issue, how am I supposed to backup my Zelda save? Knowing my launch day Nintendo Switch may have a problem down the line, how am I supposed to keep my +40h playtime?
For the last point I can say there is a way to tell, look on the strap there is a plus on one side and a minus on the other since the left controller has a minus you use the strap faced on the minus side and vice versa
Jeak Lion The switch is like the dreamcast. It's a flawed system that tried to be innovative and ahead of its time. Also, they put Mario, their biggest mascot, in a city setting, like SEGA did with Sonic Adventure.
PissedOffDragon Where was the Dreamcast a flawed system? They had the most powerful hardware at the time of release plus a reasonable price and kickass exclusive games. Only reason for it's downfall was the lack of DVD.
I wanted a switch but these issues are next to inexcusable for nintendo, in the past they have been known for their extremely high quality, my DS from damn near 15 years ago still works as well as day one. Controlers desynching and very poor online features is not what I was expecting coming to the switch from the WIIU
Danyel Perão also "Murica nostalgic fanboys", Nintendo is Japanese not American if you would have said Nintendo Fanboys it works but you said Murica nostalgic Fanboys and have made a fool out of yourself
You would be surprised to know Sony and Microsoft are not very popular in japan. Their systems are too expensive in their economy. Most people have 3ds than anything else. This is why Nintendo wont kill of certain systems. Nintendo seems to be more affordable over there.
Are they unlocking the White lock at the strap end before trying to remove, or are they stupidly relying on just the button behind the joycon to remove it? >.>;
+Dantiel Barbosa it doesnt suck atm lol... it have some problems like all other consols on launch, don't act like there was no red ring of death on x360 for example
I haven't had any problems so far. The complaint that it only plays games right now is weird. It's a video game console.. if I want to watch streaming services I use my Roku, not my PS4. If I want to browse the web I use my phone or laptop. The Switch is just a fun system to play and it's nice to see Nintendo right the ship after the failure of the Wii U.
Let me get this straight...$300 for a system which the graphics look like the year 2001 (gamecube) and cant even play Netflix or have apps. The controllers cost almost a 3rd of the system. Sure I could forgive those problems if it had one thing going for it. GAMES!!! They haven't even got that right!!! Its like Nintendo got wasted on the money the Wii made and is still thinking that people haven't got bored of it. Wow. eShop isn't even up at launch! At the bare minimum eShop would have kept people busy while the new games would slowly leak. WHY WOULD I BUY THIS!!!??? I have portable gaming covered w my iPhone and PSP. I have superior home gaming w PREVIOUS GEN hardware Xbox One and PS4! This is the saddest excuse and will BURY Nintendo from making a home console ever again. Someone needs to get fired for this abomination. All of this is coming from someone who owns a Wii U and LIKES IT! So chill fanboys. I got the Wii U because I had the extra money and was just curious. Splatoon KILLED!!! I'm on that game on almost a daily basis. But this just seems like a barely newer version of Wii U. Its like they made a bunch of promises but all of that will supposedly come at a later date. Yea...well Nintendo that later date will never come because you have messed up too many times and your original fanbase has gotten tired of waiting. You left all us 30 year olds and over in the dust for a new audience who don't even know what an NES is. Absolute betrayal. And the saddest part is that there a die hard fans who bought this thinking that you would fix everything. I can see a weeping 35 year old fanboy curled in a corner repeating "Nintendo will rise again...Nintendo will rise again..." and I have to sit next to him or her and break the bad news. Nintendo will not rise again.
I hear ya. Though I think you exaggerated on the graphics, I'd say this is like GCN to Wii -- hardly an upgrade from the previous system. Hopefully, Nintendo will stop making consoles soon...although knowing them for 25 years now, their pride would rather have them sink the entire company than to make games on a Sony or Microsoft machine. People are just hyped over this machine because it's a hybrid console-handheld. Other than that, what's so special about it? Improved gimmicks? And why would people buy 3rd party games when they're so downgraded? Unfortunately, I love Smash Bros. and Fire Emblem, so I have to spend the $300 sooner or later... Anyway, awesome name. I miss games like Mischief Makers.
haha thanks...Its like top 3 on N64 in my book. I feel as though SSB has gotten old and played out. The only reason Im even considering getting this system is Splatoon 2 and I preordered Sonic Mania on it. Im really hoping Nintendo pulls some wild card like Splatoon on this gen system. Really I think the biggest hurdle is Online gameplay. They need to get that straighned out ASAP!!! Im still rooting for big N...but the more time that goes the less hope I have.
Mischief Makers was awesome. It's the only game I'd practice to beat the bosses without taking a single hit. They were that fun. And yeah, I agree about SSB. I didn't like Splatoon but it would be nice of them to be making more, new blockbuster titles such as Splatoon...instead of using the same franchises so much. We need variety! I was such a big Nintendo fanboy that I wouldn't even touch a Sega or Sony controller. That all started changing when they came up with the horrible Wii.
I just cringe everytime I hear someone complain that they can't go on the internet or Netflix on a console when they have a Smart TV and a Computer, and a Phone right next to them.
Wrong The dock is always a plastic box with a wire hook up chip The screen might brick for some The small storage space The joycons not going on and off No wii u menu Shit launch titles Over priced
MrDjBigZ that depends on opinions. A lot of videos I've seems says their launch line up sucked as well but idk because I didn't care about consoles back then. Your opinion is that their launch titles were better. Some people disagree
Emma Jensen Not in Malaysia. Nintendo Switch is way too expensive at launched here, starting at MYR2,299, to compare, PS4 launched at MYR1,799 and now cost MYR1,399 for Slim and MYR1,799 for Pro.
incorrect, it is a console and that is an fact. "A video game console is an electronic, digital or computer device that outputs a video signal or visual image to display a video game that one or more people can play."
But a tablet is so much better, I can watch youtube, browse internet, play lots of free apps and wont pay for online services...see the difference?...also I can message friends on a tablet...it wont scratch on its own accesories and kinda you know...doesnt tell you to fuc* off and dont complain for dead pixels?
Unfortunately, people are suspecting the inability to transfer saves/put them on an SD card and the lack of an internet browser are intentional design choices meant to prevent homebrew Which has essentially ensured I am homebrewing the crap out of this thing
Dude just wait a year or two to buy it. Most likely most of the problems will be solved. Issues at launch happen with lots of consoles.(but sadly the Nintendo switch has a lot.)
Although the Wii U was a commercial failure, there has never been any doubts on the actual quality of their products--- now it seems they are starting to halt on that front :-(
You actually can transfer data from the console to sd card by going into settings redownload data and choosing the game stored on the system while having an sd card connected and running hope this helps!
joy con straps aren't a problem you can take them off just as easily on both sides. The reason this a problem is because they panic and try to take it off a wrong way and end up breaking the thing so as long as you take it off normally you should be fine.
I don't understand why people are having such a problem with attaching the wrist straps. Like all you have to do is match up the symbols, plus to plus and minus to minus, that's a skill we master in like kindergarten. Trying it any other way is like trying to put a triangular peg into a round hole.
I actually put my strap on upside before... Both the console and the grip slide up from the bottom of the joy con but the strap slides down from the top, so it's actually an easy mistake to make.
I love how everyone's using this video to complain about something they've probably never tried. EVERY system has issues around launch, people. Don't get upset with Nintendo because the Switch isn't always perfect, no system is.
My main problem is Nintendo has already came out and said that they are not accepting consoles with dead pixels as returns as its a non-issue according to them. that legit killed the buy for me. hell i had the link between world 3ds and it was shipped out of the box with dead pixels. i had to stay on the phone with them for three hours to get them to finally take it back. yes dead pixels bother me that much. i have sold tv and moniters and never bought from said companies again because of dead pixels. i am extremely OCD about that.
My left Joycon still desyncs but only when I first take them out of the dock, once I resync it it has not failed during the gaming session. My biggest problem is I am having to take out the HDMI cable when I am not using the Switch because it keeps switching signals on my TV, it doesn't do it once the cable is out. I have HDMI link turned off on both my TV and Switch too.
One thing I learned is never buy a console on launch. Thank you beta testers for testing the switch so I can have my switch up and running when I get it.
The only one I would have to disagree with is the Joycon straps. There's perfect indication on how to put them on. You line up the -/+ with the -/+ on the controller. It's not very hard to do. Also to take them off if you do happen to put them on wrong, just push the detach buttons and slide the stray downward just like you would normally. Another issue people are complaining about(and the biggest one) is the dock scratching. Unless you're literally ripping the Switch out of the dock or slamming it in without care, you won't scratch the damn thing. Plus, most people would buy a screen protector right from the start with any device with a sensitive screen such as iPhone, Samsung, iPad, etc... It's around $10 on Amazon for 2pack screen protectors. I personally don't have a Switch yet, but as someone who owns quite a bit of tech, I'd say it's common sense to just take care of the system you just dropped $400+ on. Just saying. I do agree with everything else though. Can't believe they haven't at least added a messaging system to enable communication with your online friends. Hope they change that soon. Also, the $90 dock is ridiculous. Maybe $60-$70, but even that's pushing it. I'm sure they'll come out with a new model of the dock or something later on that'll actually be worth $90.
GamingBolt if u dont want the switch give it to me!
You are a hater, Sword.
Steyr Acrx from the article I read last night, the majority of people's consoles work and Nintendo is handling everything, according to them it's not a problem
GamingBolt hi
Lets prove EVERY point wrong.
1. Friend Codes are out of date I suppose but is not really a massive problem that 'Nintendo Players HATE About The Switch' is it. (Plus they are adding more features to the friend list when the app is released later this year.)
(Plus full refunds are to be given out if this happens)
(Plus it is unlikely this will happen given the clear +/- symbol, it only happened to me due to a younger person using my switch)
Note: You may say that my repeated use of 'come later' or things alone those lines is evidence that the switch as rushed but how come i can still prove everything you think I wrong as incorrect, seems like a polished console to me. (Plus as mentioned in point 6 Nintendo want the core gaming experience first, and the added stuff later.)
Overall, I think your research was lacklustre and overall poor.
Mus-taarD bro this was over 3 years ago wtf
Meaning I don't have to come up with 5 different iterations of my typical handle before finding one that "isn't already taken." And you can add people you've played with in a game before through the menus, and local switches, like with the 3ds.
very valid points. i want the Switch so bad, but i can wait until they fix most of these issues before i go and get one.
Felinara I have got the console, no problems with Zelda or the menu :)
snakey thank the you!!!but i still dont know i wanna buy it but i also want them to add more stuff
gamer 10000 I have played thru most of BOTW, but I would say 400€ (330€ for console+ 65€ for Zelda) isnt worth it...But im looking for upcoming games in the future like Mario and indie games
Actually, the original price is 300$, sucks for people like us in canada, welp I'm traveling to Europe so I'll get it this summer.
it depends on what you earn or what you have personally i dont mind wasting about 400-450 on this console but not all people can afford it no offense at all dont take this the wrong way
I love the joycon strap thing. I watched a livestream where they actually put it in the wrong way first. And well then sledgehammer happened :D I don't think they managed to take it off
The switch really only currently appeals to diehard Zelda fans. I'm probably going to wait until the holidays before getting one.
You should play Ocarina of Time next.
ocarina of time is the reason i love Zelda
Fun fact, im better at the master quest version than the normal.
William Winn There is no good with this system? cant even message your friends! and stupid friend codes are back
Yeah, something you absolutely need in order to play a game. Sarcasm if you don't get it.
William Winn no,no it doesnt
Some are speculating that the friend code system is just a placeholder until the actual online system goes live.
kurisu7885 the whole console looks like a placeholder.
kurisu7885 I want the switch too, but thats a good one.
I'm so fucking happy I have a perfect switch, my dock doesn't scratch my screen, my games load up quickly, my switchs screen is clean and no dead pixels. 😁👌
11. Scalpers
Can you talk with people in a party like Ps4 and Xbox?
Wait until fall my friend, wait until fall..
3:49 Where do you get that holder on the car seat
this is why I never buy a console At launch
The funny thing is many people complain about the screen scratching, but there have only been a few people that have shown it. Most videos when talking about it state they have not had the issue, I have not had the issue, and no one I know has had the issue. I think this is just a very isolated issue, that due to carelessness on a few people's part, has been blown out of proportion.
The day you catch me buying a switch is the day that it drops 200$, has over 20 games (physical copies) and has hardware/software issues fixed
That is sort of what we did for the WiiU. Got it fall 2015 for a sweet deal. Love it. Got my Zelda for WiiU instead of the Switch because it costs $90 after tax (Cdn) rather than almost $600 after tax (and the stupid environmental fee we have here now that ups the cost of all electronics by $30-50)
Yeah, I'll just stick with my Xbox One and my 3DS.
that guuuuuuuy
So holiday of 2017, where the Switch unleashes it's Soft Launch plan to drastically go down in price and have plenty of hyped up games to choose from. Just like what the 3DS did...
Korok #758 dropping 200 dollars in USA would be $100 and no way would nintendo do that...
pc + switch (after some issues has been fixed) = perfect combination
the issue is they made a damn Zelda machine and every idiot including game journalists bought the damn thing, these are sold out in most stores for a reason because people keep buying them yet they dont come bundled with a game and right now only have Zelda and 1. 2. switch. that is a damn tech demo. this is the shit that every game journalist does "oh this thing is going to be amazing" then it launches "oh its sucks"
Joel Atkinson
Agreed.
Joel Atkinson Then why are you watching a Switch video?
because i dont watch pre release videos of anything as its all just hyping something up and then the release the reviewers tell you its shit. also im not watching a switch video, im watching a gamingbolt 10 things X players hate about X thing, i like these types of videos and watch for games i dont even play or intend on playing and for systems i dont own or intend to buy, i do intend on buying a switch when more games are released for it however im considering getting one much later than i originally planned because of all the problems im now thinking of waiting for a 2.0 version or something with a bundle with a couple of games
it's Nintendo, expect for THAT to happen YEARS from now
Why didn't they just simplify the switch by calling it The Ouya 2?
I love the television. I love playing games. I love playing games on the television
I *want* to like the Switch, I want it to be good but my god Nintendo where they succeded in some areas they went down hill with others.
KasaiWolf07 never buy a new console. Wait
don't buy the switch at all its broken and have no games
daminmancejin aka all consoles at launch
The Switch is fantastic. Once you play one, you'll understand... transferring from the TV to mobile seamlessly is the most natural way to game in the world.
You forgot to mention how *easily* the joycons can get damaged. 🗿
"Lack of features" Oh no video game system only plays video games, whatever shall i do?! Seriously? Griping it only plays video games is like complaining that your TV only shows a moving image. Its what it was designed to do!
Brent W how convoluted of ignorance must one be to write this...?
yeah the lack of features reason was stupid, if you want netflix etc umm idk use your PC or cellphone? lol
the rest of the issues are on point tho
Ever since PS2 had dvd playback game systems have been required to do more than just play games.
Marina Liteyears No, they haven't. People are just autistic and forget what something is originally intended for. With smart phones, every one of those features is like 10 times better. I don't need it on my VIDEO GAME CONSOLE.
Brent W Other consoles have youtube, the browser more than 25 gb of storage, other apps and way more than the Nintendo Switch
I'm just waiting for the Scorpio. Meantime I'll enjoy PC gaming.
Sharpy RokOut what's the point of the Scorpio when a PC is better?
PS5 is rumored to be released next year already...
Panda Xkills what credible source has started that rumor?? shut up kid didn't you mommy teach you not to spread lies
We expect Sony to launch a >10 TFLOPS ‘PS5’ in 2H18 to secure the installed base.”
Is this something you see happening? Next year seems to be a bit too soon to me- and if nothing else, it would make PlayStation 4 Pro owners really angry. On the other hand, it would be a hell of a way to make the Scorpio obsolete far before it can do any serious damage.
marlon alston those rumors have zero evidence to back his claim. this happens all the time with false rumors. 2019 earliest or Sony will piss off so many people
The thing I hate most about the Switch is that it was stolen, and my warranty doesn't cover things like theft, so now the my console, the game, and my case, $400 in value, are all down the drain.
My switch works perfectly. It's as the saying goes "not all cops are bad cops, you only hear about the bad ones because it gets more attention "
keep in mind that this is the soft launch for the switch, in fact, so that's why a lot of features are missing. they are coming around fall and holiday seasons.
"well made piece of hardware" but scratches the plastic screen, has connection problems all around and Nintendo's position on dead pixels is that it's normal and not a defect!
first i want to start off with im not a fanboy (maybe) anyway the dock with the screen problem i agree there
you can buy screen protector but thats buying more than what you already gonna buy so i d recemand not to buy if you dont own alot of money, with the onnectivity thing well, how far you goonna be from the tv?it depends and plus its anoying when the ps4 internet goes off, with dead pixels......i dont mind but it is depending how much thier is,
gamer 10000 my Internet stopped going down in the ps4 ever since I switched to ethernet.
Sad.
cheapest fucking console nintendo's ever made
the left joycon doesn't even have an antenna
they're that cheap
every time i hear you say "in the future" i hear money please from nintendo.
I've seen rip off consoles like PolyStation with more hardware quality than the Switch.
Panda Xkills lunchbox 1 was a let down for me. So I went with pc!
Yeah... no you haven't.
yeah the PolyStation is a console that is getting ripped off all of the time
Lies. You have never held a Switch, never used one. You're just a salty fangirl trying to fight the future.
I may consider getting a switch if Nintendo:
1) Start replacing systems defective with dead pixels, so I am not taking a $300 gamble.
2) Support Netflix, surfing the internet, etc.
3) Make a new version of the console with the charger port NOT on the bottom.
4) Completely and totally fix the the JoyCon issue
5) Release a new Megaman or Metroid game for it (a real one)
People buy Nintendo switch's to browse the internet?
ActionmanFX why does the switch need an internet browser when the majority of people have phones?
Ikr?
I'm so happy that I decided to wait, I will pick the damn thing up once this beta test has ended and a revised version is out.
so many mistakes for such a big company smh.......
Dimitrich Truideman Although I haven't had any problems with my switch, I think Nintendo relied wayyyyyyyy too much on fans and just was lazy with the whole console.
Dimitrich Truideman Have you ever played some of there older games? Like The Legend of Zelda; Spirit Tracks? That hole game was a mistake.
Dimitrich Truideman foreals man it's 2017 freaking 2017 and they couldn't make a system work good smh
ホワイトイカ How are they trying their best when they keep ignoring what people want for multiple generations?
No but clearly they are not trying their best ether. And the sad part is people like you are the ones to blame for that.
what is the game called at 5:06
NIntendo fanboy tears could end droughts worldwide
You need to change your name to bob SAVAGE* immediately!
Holy shit xD
Sony fanboy tears would fucking mean the end of the world.
So Sony makes the same system over and over again so their fanboys won't cry.
Thanks you, Sony.
Thank you for keeping your fanboys happy.
Time to build an ark.
Not to mention Nintendo choices with the past three consoles have left a lot to be desired.
bob saggzs no, it would be too salty
What I hate the most is how we're getting a port of mario kart 8 instead of getting mario kart 9. Now those who didn't cop out on the wii u will likely have to wait another console generation.
Glad I went for the PS4 in the end- might consider a switch further down the line when they've ironed out some problems!
kitty collins good it's good to wait for the switch never buy new consoles at launch always wait a year or 2 when they have more games and fix there problems
Still it wouldn't have hurt them to just release Mario Kart 9 instead... not just give you the same thing but allow you to hold two items this time- big fricking deal...
mario kart 8 isnt launch
HaiLegend ahh! So it isn't! With all the hype I assumed it was 😊
"Mario Kart 8 is terrible"
Seriously?
With Zelda BOTW, I get the "the software was closed because an error occurred" error message which crashes the game. Nintendo support asked me to send in the game cartridge for repair. They sent me a replacement cartridge a week later, but I still get the error. Now, they're asking me to send in the game and the switch console itself for repair for them to troubleshoot.
All right let's see:
10# 100% true
9&8# Seeming how they took down the dock from their page I think they're fixing this one.
7# Nintendo says that's our problem so not seeing a future there
6,5&4# Never heard of these, that sucks.
#3 They're at least trying to add this
2# Totally agree, it's straight up bullshit
1# They should've made it impossible but I think it can be expected from somebody to look at the joycons for a second to see the symbol that indicates what way to put them on
KingofRetards12 I mean seriously, how dumb do you have to be to put the strap on on top instead of the bottom, I swear stupidity is now a valid reason for hating something
Nickplays or they are in a darkroom and have no idea how they are putting it in cause its possible to inset them the wrong way for some absurd reason...
The switch was marketed towards kids for crying out loud. Obviously the kids are going to do stupid things.
JooJoo Thats why it should be impossible to put them the wrong way
Random comment: There were only two consoles I got at launch, that being the original 3DS and the Switch.
Keep in mind the switch only sucks if you are just being petty so many of these issues can be remedied by the owner...
Caleb Spickelmier *Should have been remedied
Shofu Tha BeatDown ayeee beatdown ! Love your music bruh
i'm a pc gamer and i bought the switch and its amazing! all of the software issues are going to be fixed and the hardware barely affects any
Nintendo still thinks people want a handheld game. I just want my GameCube back.
Gamecube was its last good system. And a lot of ppl thought that was kind of a kiddy system. Switch honestly looks like an SNL skit.
If the wii didnt add in all the stupid motion controls it would have been a much better console
X-peon couldn't of said it better myself.
Korok #758 the last real home console was GameCube so I hope they would of sold more hand helds then home.
That's because people do. Hanheld consoles are hugely popular, just look at the 3ds.
You just need to press down the release button to remove the wrist raps
These problems are Nitpicks at best.
10: Friend Codes? That has nothing to do with actually playing the game.
9: Screen Scratching? really? If you find it being scratched, buy a Screen Protector.
8. There's more to the docks than what you think, and the materials cost more than you think.
7. Desyncing. while it can get annoying, it can be fixed easily.
6. Dead Pixils. How about some proof first, then talk.
5. This is a GAME CONSOLE. You shouldn't need the other stuff to have a Good time.
4. Factory Defect that can get fixed/ get replaced. and BoTW isn't the only worthwhile game
Red, I know this is a month old but I don't care. Every LCD screen has dead pixels
I heard that Nintendo today said cloud saves could be possible in the future...
I see all the Nintendo fanboys screaming don't buy a console on day 1, yet I haven't ran into any of these problems with Sony or Microsoft this generation. The Switch was a nice idea, but Nintendo should've simply built a more powerful traditional home console.
the problem is that after the big fail of the wii U nintendo rushed for the nintendo switch to get some money
have you seen those prices!!!but still its alo still in beta and you people still gonna call me a fanboy of nintendo
(NO IM NOT IM MOSTLY A PC GAMER/MICROSFT FANBOY SINCE THEY CREATED WINDOWS 10
gamer 10000 the biggest problems with the Wii U was the name, form factor, controller, power, and lack of 3rd party support.
Are you serious? the PS4 was incredibly faulty and launch, AND The PS4 pro was even worse, an updated version of it! go watch crowbcats video on it
im not a nintendo fanboy, but did *you* buy the switch at launch?
because you may have not had a problem like you didn't with sony or microsoft.
if you did than sorry.
bleacho I buy all of my consoles at launch.
No save file transfer, this is my biggest issue, how am I supposed to backup my Zelda save? Knowing my launch day Nintendo Switch may have a problem down the line, how am I supposed to keep my +40h playtime?
The last one is wrong you can remove it have done it myself.
For the last point I can say there is a way to tell, look on the strap there is a plus on one side and a minus on the other since the left controller has a minus you use the strap faced on the minus side and vice versa
I swear Nintendo is turning into Konami
Nathan Peot To be honest I don't think you can compare any company to Konami. Komami is just cancer.
or Nokia?
More like Sega
Jeak Lion
The switch is like the dreamcast. It's a flawed system that tried to be innovative and ahead of its time. Also, they put Mario, their biggest mascot, in a city setting, like SEGA did with Sonic Adventure.
PissedOffDragon
Where was the Dreamcast a flawed system? They had the most powerful hardware at the time of release plus a reasonable price and kickass exclusive games. Only reason for it's downfall was the lack of DVD.
Lets be honest, 99% of you didn't browse the internet using your Wii, Wii U, DS or 3DS.
i got 99 probs and the switch aint one.
playing botw lata hatas
LOL
I wanted a switch but these issues are next to inexcusable for nintendo, in the past they have been known for their extremely high quality, my DS from damn near 15 years ago still works as well as day one. Controlers desynching and very poor online features is not what I was expecting coming to the switch from the WIIU
Nintendo still exists because 'Murica nostalgic fanboys that's why
Danyel Perão or because people buy it
Danyel Perão also "Murica nostalgic fanboys", Nintendo is Japanese not American if you would have said Nintendo Fanboys it works but you said Murica nostalgic Fanboys and have made a fool out of yourself
Danyel Perão So what about Microsoft and Sony? People wouldn't buy their consoles out of pure nostalgia? Bullshit
You would be surprised to know Sony and Microsoft are not very popular in japan. Their systems are too expensive in their economy. Most people have 3ds than anything else. This is why Nintendo wont kill of certain systems. Nintendo seems to be more affordable over there.
Are they unlocking the White lock at the strap end before trying to remove, or are they stupidly relying on just the button behind the joycon to remove it? >.>;
in other words: Switch sucks atm
lol typical Nintendo fanboy
+Dantiel Barbosa it doesnt suck atm lol... it have some problems like all other consols on launch, don't act like there was no red ring of death on x360 for example
Dantiel Barbosa in other words: youre mad you dont have one ;)
youll get one soon buddy just save up.
skyboy884 the red ring of death usually didn't happen immediately after purchase.
Shane Jones and why would i want a Switch ?
Its almost as weak as the Wii U lol
I haven't had any problems so far. The complaint that it only plays games right now is weird. It's a video game console.. if I want to watch streaming services I use my Roku, not my PS4. If I want to browse the web I use my phone or laptop. The Switch is just a fun system to play and it's nice to see Nintendo right the ship after the failure of the Wii U.
I don't care I'm a Nintendo fan and I disagree. Half of this stuff is stupid people doing stupid shit.i love the switch
Robert Campbell III Yes, that's what idiotic fan boys do, act like they have the best shit
arakarwanRBLX salty much?
Yes I am salty and proud
Robert why are you proud of acting like a donkey?
"stupid people doing stupid shit" yea cause it's their fault for buying a switch that scratches, has dead pixels. okay
How can you tell if the dock has the correct rubber padding or not?
I think RUclips is a very very basic feature that should be included. My $30 cheap android phone has youtube on it.
Beta testers deserve these problems. Enough said. Wii U never had this many problems during the first week.
Wrong
The dock is always a plastic box with a wire hook up chip
The screen might brick for some
The small storage space
The joycons not going on and off
No wii u menu
Shit launch titles
Over priced
Silverwolf Pirates 1. What does brick mean? 2. Pretty sure Xbox one and PS4 had a higher price at launch
MrDjBigZ that depends on opinions. A lot of videos I've seems says their launch line up sucked as well but idk because I didn't care about consoles back then. Your opinion is that their launch titles were better. Some people disagree
Emma Jensen cause brick means (a smartphone or other electronic device) to become completely unable to function, typically on a permanent basis.
Emma Jensen Not in Malaysia. Nintendo Switch is way too expensive at launched here, starting at MYR2,299, to compare, PS4 launched at MYR1,799 and now cost MYR1,399 for Slim and MYR1,799 for Pro.
MrDjBigZ doesn't* and opinion is the keyword here
You missed the "Charging port is located on the bottom making it impractical to play and charge at the same time in the Kickstand mode."
Nintendo switch is a tablet not a console
And PS4 is a box, not a console if you go that way
Cyan all consoles are boxes lol and pc's are tiny tvs
incorrect, it is a console and that is an fact.
George G Tablets havent got ONE good game. Mobile Gaming sucks.
Unfortunately, people are suspecting the inability to transfer saves/put them on an SD card and the lack of an internet browser are intentional design choices meant to prevent homebrew
Which has essentially ensured I am homebrewing the crap out of this thing
this is a garbage console........i will not waste any money on this thing.
This is an amazing console.... With lackluster software and flaws in the hardware
Mishpãré you just confirmed what Alexole said! xD
Dude just wait a year or two to buy it. Most likely most of the problems will be solved. Issues at launch happen with lots of consoles.(but sadly the Nintendo switch has a lot.)
Idk man but I have it and it isn't garbage it's Fucking badass ;3
Alexole Eya Your just another person who hates innovation. We don't need people like that. the
The only issue I have faced is the left joy-con de-sync issue
what game is at 5:14?
I think its Kingdom: Two crowns
You made an error about the Joy-cons. They're not stuck on if you put them on incorrectly. It's just harder to take them off.
BotW specific issue: You cannot start a separate play through without erasing your current game or adding an entire second user to your console.
Although the Wii U was a commercial failure, there has never been any doubts on the actual quality of their products--- now it seems they are starting to halt on that front :-(
You actually can transfer data from the console to sd card by going into settings redownload data and choosing the game stored on the system while having an sd card connected and running
hope this helps!
Well
The dock isn't the main part of the package is it?
I'm hoping they'll fix these things by May.
I think it is because some switches have been dropped when transporting them to stores.
One thing i really don't like with the switch is that there isn't any soft ware to turn the screenshots you take into themes for the console
this is why Sony is wayyy better it's sad to see my childhood company get destroyed like this
Actually, there's a lever on the joy con so you can infact remove the strap if you put it on wrong
I once heard that you can't play Wii u games on the switch - Or was it Wii games??
joy con straps aren't a problem you can take them off just as easily on both sides. The reason this a problem is because they panic and try to take it off a wrong way and end up breaking the thing so as long as you take it off normally you should be fine.
sold it after playing 1hr of Zelda lack of feature
I don't understand why people are having such a problem with attaching the wrist straps. Like all you have to do is match up the symbols, plus to plus and minus to minus, that's a skill we master in like kindergarten. Trying it any other way is like trying to put a triangular peg into a round hole.
I actually put my strap on upside before... Both the console and the grip slide up from the bottom of the joy con but the strap slides down from the top, so it's actually an easy mistake to make.
How can I look up or down with the wired controller???
Are you Jay Baruchel?
omg it *does* sound like him o-o
Luckily, I've never had any of these problems.
You can release the stuck joycons. You just need to release two black pegs inside the locking mechanism.
I have a Nintendo Switch myself, and the worst problem I've had is not being able to put it down.
