I love how elbow never force their greatness upon their audience. Apart from the gentle encouragement and antics of Guy, the others are happy to stay in the background. No posturing, no audience seeking adoration, no stupid looking for how wonderful we are, worship us crap.

I've seen them twice in Boston. I drove 100 miles to the show each time. Some of the best decisions I've ever made.
Jason Curry I saw them in NYC and then drove to Boston the very next day to see them at the Paradise Rock Club! I even got to speak to Guy Garvey and told him I did that..he joked with me about how he hoped I enjoyed the different set...it was identical to the night before!

I live in Alaska. I am traveling to London for a few days at the beginning of March to see them at Eventim Apollo. When I tell people about this planned trip, they always look at me funny. You're going to London for what? I stopped telling people. Fortunately my wife of 30 years puts up with my music travels.

It's amazing how minimal the song is, just the singer, a piano (?) playing chords sparingly and a percussion track and yet it's so fully realised. Excellent.

As for this being kind of a remake (?) of Cry videowise, it's immediately clear that it is, but this is so much better. Technological advancements only go so far.

Saw these guys in 2001/2002ish literally. Went to a show in Seattle with the Starlight Mints, Elbow and Granddaddy. During the Starlight mints set we turned around and saw the band right behind us in the crowd watching the set. An hour later they were on stage playing themselves, thought that was really cool, been a fan ever since.
