As a beginner I’m very pleased I just finished row 13! Was there a lot of frogging, yes, but that’s how I learn. Thanks so much for including the video or I would never have even tried this beautiful piece. I am cheating by using variegated yarn but it still looks awesome; as a beginner all the color changes were intimidating. Love your new puppy, watched the entire going home video. Thanks again!

Tip: use either stitch markers or a short piece of different color yarn to mark every 4th SC stitch on the 11th round to help with the final round of the first week. I hope as having trouble getting it correct until I decided to do it , even though I had both the 11th and 12th rows stitch count right.

I love your patterns, I’m doing your current crochet along for the octagon blanket😊 I just wanted to ask what I should do for this pattern. I’m using a 5mm hook and it matches the gauge check, but it doesn’t lay flat, even when we turn it into a square. I don’t know what I should do? Please help and thank you for your time ❤
If it's really bad, then stop. But you can block it afterwards.
In the written instructions on row 13, at the beginning it says (1 sc. Ch 2. 1sc). But he doesn’t say to do that in the video. I’m very very confused about row 13. I have watched it over and over and I just can’t get it.

This may have been addressed but I'm not finding it. Can this be adjusted to be a larger rectangle afghan? Want to make it for my newly married granddaughter. If it can't, I still plan to make it, but will maybe do 2 of them. Thanks for all your hard work and creativity. Thanks Jeanie, too!
We haven't designed this to be a rectangle as the centre starts off square. I'm sorry.

Having trouble in corners. On row8 or 9 with A are you to have 1dc ch 2 2dc in corners and then next row with C the dcfp and dcbp are you to have 2dc ch2 2dc in corners? The second side I don’t end up with a dcfp is it because I have the corner wrong the row before?

Trying to get started on the better together crochet blanket got the colors labeled them a b c d like mikey said to do chained 3 inserted hook into 3 chain did the first DC out of 16 did it 3 times but doesn't look right any suggestions? Thank you
Im having the same issues. He said that the chains werent a stitch but how do you then figure 16 dc? Do i skip the chain in row 2 cause he gives some sort of trick to incorporate it in but then says I should only have 16? With the chain that's 17. Im confused and disappointed. I've restarted 4 times and im about to give up.
Mikey, I signed up for the pattern but I have not received it, I did sign up late tho, anyway on the video ( left hand) you do rounds 1-13 on the time stamp it goes 1-14 minus row 13. My question is this, next week will you start with round 14? I watched the video over and over thinking I missed a row since the time stamp said 1-14 it was very confusing since I was crocheting along with you with no pattern. I love the pattern so far.

I’m on row 13 and directions say 1sc ch2, 1sc in corner with sl but in your video you don’t mention that, you go right to 1 trfp. Which is correct. I’m really stuck on this row, not understanding it. Thank you

Hi when it say 37 stitches each side is it from corner to corner as in the 2 in the corner added in and the end of the row 2 in the corner added in.
Yes. The 2 in corners count. The chain sp of a corner isn’t counted.
I’m having a little issue with getting the last round (13) correct. I’m coming up with 8 treble crochet “v’’ ‘s while the diagram has 9. I have the last 2 rows count correct.

Need help. I’m trying to convert the colors in the written pattern to the blue sample Afghan. I love those colors. But when I look at a photo and designate letters to each color, the Mallard color is only used once (color D). Please advise
Colour D is only used once this week. But by the look of the pictures it is used multiple times in other weeks. Hope this helps.
I'm sure someone has mentioned this already: the written instructions for Round 13 doesn't match your video. It starts with (1sc, Ch2, 1sc) AND ends with it also. In the video, you start with a standing sc, and then go right into the TRFPs. I'm sure this is the correct steps, and the written instructions are incorrect.
Also, the title above notes "Rnds 1-14." Should it be "Rnds 1-13"?

I always watch the tutorials through once, so I get a feel for the stitches, incase I’ve never tried them before, makes doing the actual crochet goes so much easier, for me anyways 🤷♀️

On round 9 you have 27 dc across as a final count. How is that possible when there are 24 stitches between corners in row 8?

If you look at the corners. The corners are (1 dc, Ch 2, 2 dc). This creates the right count for what's coming up ahead in the pattern. So there is only an increase by 3 sts. If you look at the diagram in Rnd 9, look at the dc in the corners. You will see that. This may help you to see it. :)
Is a standing Single Crochet the same as an Extended Single Crochet?
Standing stitches are how you join a new yarn for a new row. Standing Single Crochet is not the same as an extended single crochet An extended sc, would be going into the row below. Yes, colours are just ideas. Stick to what you prefer.

Melissa Hill If you go to the 3 dots in top right corner (click on it)you have the option to reduce the speed to 75% or more. I find it very helpful and you can still understand the voice. If you reduce it too much it gets “garbled”.
